Lumen's founder Andrew Walker has worked for some of the country’s top electrical contractors, and has many years of experience under his belt. His work has included projects at the Balmoral, Andy Murray’s Cromlix House Hotel, St Andrews University, many high street retail chains, and even upgrading cell phone coverage on Ben Nevis!

Last night we were really in a panic because we had no electric power in the kitchen and conservatory with a dishwasher full of dirty dishes, a waste disposal unit full of vegetable peelings and a pile of dirty laundry in the utility room. I ran an extension cable from the hall to power the fridge and freezer overnight. Lumen Electrical Services came to our rescue this morning and sent and Craig this afternoon. He worked methodically, kept us informed and made the unusual diagnosis of a faulty RCD which he then replaced. That and their attentive phone calls added up to superb service and the invoice is very reasonable. We cannot praise this company enough and shall certainly use them again if necessary.

I’ve always struggled to find a good electrician that ticked all the boxes. After contacting Andrew at Lumen, I’ve now found that ideal electrician. Great communication, understood my needs, very friendly, replaced a fan extractor in the space of no time, cleaned up any mess. What more could you ask. Brilliant service and would recommend.

We have used Lumen electrical on two occasions and been extremely happy with the work. First time we had spot lights removed and new lights installed. The second time we had a light installed in our attic. Andrew always responded promptly to our emails and was punctual. He arranged a visit to get details of the job he was undertaking. He telephoned before arriving to confirm his appointment. When carrying out his work he was neat and tidy. His attention to detail was greatly appreciated - he measured the length of the existing light features in different rooms and matched them to the new ones. We were very happy with his standard of workmanship.

My smoke alarm was beeping loudly intermittently as I was about to leave for work. As I live in a block of flats I was aware it may disturb neighbours if left until my return home. I called Lumen Electrical Services as my usual electrician was unavailable. Andrew Walker attended within 20 minutes and arrived complete with ladder, tools and a replacement smoke alarm (just in case this was required) He checked my alarm and confirmed it was due for replacement (rather than just a battery change) He replaced with the new one and left me a spare battery. He explained how to test and replace the battery in future and also put a sticker on the corresponding fuse box switch. Andrew is very efficient and knowledgeable. He is very polite and seems honest, reliable and trustworthy. I will definitely call Andrew if I require further electrical work and have recommended him to friends and family.
