Pete did me an EICR. This was a big job because I have a large house and there are two fuse boxes. He came when he said he would, charged what he said he would and arrived on time. I was impressed by how thorough he was. He explained all the technicalities to me. Unfortunately, my system did not meet the current electrical standards and was deemed unsatisfactory. So I asked him to deal with the “Immediate” and “urgent” items. He came back within a week and did so. This involved putting a thicker earth cable between my fuse boxes at the front of the house and the gas and water pipes at the back of the house. The path between these was blocked by two concrete floors. Pete identified three possible solutions and we agreed on one of these. It was not the easiest option because it involved crawling under the floorboards. However, it was the most professional and neatest and, even when the earth cable went outside, Pete tucked it away so that it was inconspicuous. I was impressed that he went for the best solution and not the one that was easiest for himself. My overall impression was that he was highly experienced and very professional. And he gets bonus extra points because, unlike many tradesmen nowadays, he did not ask me to write him a favourable review.

After completion of a full Rewire carried out by these guy's (5* review written for that) I was promised that when my bathroom was in progress refurbishing, that I could just give Pete a call and he would be over quickly as not to hold up the workmen, to complete additional wiring needed for extractor, mirror etc. He was true to his word.....came over at short notice, did the work to a high standard. These guys are superb and again I recommend them strongly. Any further Electrical work and will definitely use M E. Thank you.

Pete came to help us with a fan repair, a new fan installation and changing the power supply ahead of the delivery of a new range cooker. Pete and his colleague were very easy to have about the house and tidied up very well indeed. What perhaps impressed me most was Pete's "can do" attitude so that when there was a problem he found his way around it. This gave me confidence on these jobs and would absolutely give me confidence to use his firm again.

M E Electrical recently completed a full rewire of our property and we would absolutely recommend Pete and Michael to anyone who was considering who they should employ to carry out their Electrical work. From the very first contact with them they were been extremely helpful with honest advice and help in how we could proceed. Due to the amount of work needed to be done on our property, very little could be done without having the rewire completed which would then enable us to move forward with everything else. We were desperate to have the rewiring done and M E Electrical, despite being extremely busy and about to undertake a large project they had planned over the next few months, they went out of their way to find a way of undertaking the work we desperately needed. Pete, Michael and their team including Tony and Cooper embarked on the rewire within a week. Every obstacle they came across (and there were a few to say the least) they carried out with professionalism but also with a sense of humour. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They cleaned up after themselves after each day and due to the state of our property, in some areas, it looked better than when they started!!! We really can't thank them enough. No doubt, as we both progress with the rest of our renovation we'll need their help again but we can rest assured that they will be only too willing to offer any assistance they possibly can. We wanted an electrician to carry out an EICR (Electrical Inspection Condition Report) for a property we hoped to buy. Pete was very helpful on the phone as I explained the issues we faced. He quickly got in touch with the vendor’s estate agent and let me know when he was going. He gave a report on work needing to be done and gave a breakdown of costs. All along I was given a sense of what needed to done and when it would be carried out. Pete was also on top of the paperwork, which has made it easier for us. I would recommend this firm.

Michael has looked after our electrical work for many years - latterly joined by Pete. They have always provided a prompt reliable and efficient service and even when faced with obstacles are unfailingly cheerful and always find a solution I have had no hesitation recommending them to friends and would do so again. M E Electrical have done many commercial and residential new build full wiring works for us over the years. Hot tub installation, outdoor decking and gazebo lighting and EV charging points. Mick and Pete are professional in every way helping to plan out work and budgeting there are no hidden extras. They are prompt, courteous and trustworthy. It is rare nowadays to find tradesmen that take pride in their work, M E Electrical do just that. My daughters boiler went off and they were there immediately fantastic customer care. Michael and the team have carried out a wide range of work over the last year. This included electrics for my garage conversion, EV charging point, under floor heating in 5 rooms, socket and light installation. It is rare indeed to find a company who keep their promises, turn up on time and carry out work to such a high standard. I have recommended them to several friends who have also been impressed by the work carried out. It’s also great to see a company who is so committed to developing apprentices.

ME electrical recently required our kitchen and rear extension along with and upgrade to the fuse board that was long overdue. They also ran armoured cable to our summerhouse and supplied and fitted a small fuse board. Garden lights were fitted on the decking and planters which are now controlled by an electronic timer in the house. Overall a great experience with this contractor, would recommend to others.

I had three issues needed fixing. New light fixtures in bathroom Faulty light switch on landing Replacing flexes on all the ceiling lights to the lengths that best suited each individual room. Pete did a great job. He listened carefully to what I wanted, helped me make decisions and was informative, efficient and tidy. I was very happy with his work.

I needed some varied electrical works carrying out at a rental property. We have used many electricians over the years, but I can honestly say Pete from ME Electrical has beaten all others hands down. He is an absolute pleasure to deal with, extremely knowledgeable and throughout the process of getting the works done he communicated so well, always replying to messages straightaway. Had trouble trying to find someone who'd be able to come out and replace my shower, got in touch with Mick who managed to make some time to get a replacement sorted. The guys are were very tidy, friendly and professional. Would definitely recommend them and will be using them again in the future!

This was the 2nd time we have used ME Electrical. First they carried out works to move wiring and install a new media system in the lounge. Next time they carried out all necessary electricals for a bedroom refurb. Each time they did the following, and importantly always when agreed: came round to give an estimate, with lots of very practical and helpful advice as to the options; provided the estimate; commenced and finished the work on time. The work was carried out to an excellent standard, they fitted in around other contractors, and left the place spotless. In addition, always positive and cheerful. There were no hidden extras. ME Electrical also responded promptly to a recent trip switch problem, and gave advice which resolved the issue. There were no false promises, no going silent for days, no leaving unannounced part way through a job.... I couldn't rate them highly enough.

I've no reservations in recommending Pete of ME Electrical. During a property purchase in Newcastle he helped keep us on track towards completion by being very responsive with an EICR wiring check. Living some distance away, and being unable to travel due to Covid restrictions, we were able to rely on Pete doing an efficient job and felt able to trust his knowledge and professionalism without having to be there. I purchased my first home in during lockdown September 2020. Everything seemed to be going well until the surveyor condemned the electrics. I tried not to panic while waiting for the vendors to supply a condition report and certificate of safety. This did not allay my fears when it materialised and so I rang my brother in law in a panic. Having lived in rented accommodation for years I knew a bit about electrical requirements but had never needed to contract an electrician so had never called Pete in a professional capacity. As soon as I explained the situation to him he told me best and worst scenarios, laid out my options, and the sale was no longer in jeopardy. He came to do the work as soon as I took possession of the keys. I was very impressed by the care taken to work quickly and tidily. He even used overshoes to protect my flooring, and you can’t tell where he had to lift the carpet for access! I now have an up to date consumer board with certificate of inspection, correct earth bonding for the gas and better sockets upstairs. He banned me from installing a cooker hood as the socket is in the wrong position (40cm directly above the cooker) so he’s going to come back and sort that for me, and I want him to install some under cupboard lighting too after seeing pictures of kitchens he’s done for other people. I can now give Pete personal recommendation for knowledge, reliability, standard of work and quality of finish.

I needed a new consumer unit and minor alterations to the system prior to a kitchen re-fit. ME Electrical was recommended to me by a friend. M.E. lived up to the recommendation. After contacting ME electrics regarding a upstairs heating, underfloor heating and dhw cylinder that required wiring (they were the third company i had contacted about the work). Pete was brilliant, gave me a very fair estimate and he was able to fit in with my fantastic plumber to make sure it was a smooth change over. The system worked first time and Pete was very patient teaching me how to use the Hive system, would highly recommend.
