We asked the trader to come and look at our house with a view to replacing the boiler.After the first meeting we then received the written quote and decided to accept this quote one of three.The work was to be carried out at the beginning of November and we were told that it would take 3 days,The trader had their workmen here early on the 31st October and worked hard to have the boiler installed and were complete by the 2nd November. They were very respectful and ensured there was damage to our house and they came across a problem re the pressure and discovered that there was not enough pressure in the house so had SGN here and came back on the 3rd to complete the job. The boiler supplies heating and hot water. It's an old system and was on its last legs. Scott Findlay pulled out all the stops to have the new system installed as soon as possible. The service was excellent and I can't recommend them enough for their work.

We had an emergency boiler issue in the run up to Christmas as a result of the cold weather. I contacted Claire at Scott Findlay and she was able to arrange someone to come and look at it within 48 hours. Unfortunately we needed a new boiler but thanks to the SF team it was fitted within the week and whilst we were on holiday so we returned to a warm house and a great new boiler. The communication from start to finish has been excellent - with emails and texts to confirm the timing of the work and then completion of the work. The boiler was a like for like replacement which the SF team sourced for me late on a Friday evening. I would definitely recommend SF to anyone looking for prompt, courteous, quality workmanship and outstanding service.

I've just moved to Edinburgh and needed to get the boiler in our new home serviced. I found Scott Findlay's details on the Which Trusted Traders website which is always my first port of call for a new contractor. Every part of the service has been excellent from first contact through to the friendly and helpful engineer who was punctual even on a freezing cold morning.

Scott Findlay have just installed a new combi boiler for us. That involved removing the old boiler, the water tank and decommissioning the cold water tank. We also had several new radiators installed. The job took 4 days; the engineers arrived at the expected time every day and worked without stopping all the time they were here! They were professional, friendly and helpful and communicated well at all stages. The quote for the job was accurate and information from the office was thorough and helpful. The engineers were very conscious of making the disruption (they were working in every room in the house) as minimal as possible and of leaving the system in as workable a way as they could when they left each evening. They also cleaned up after their work, which was much appreciated! The end result is wonderful, the system works perfectly and we are very pleased. I used Scott Findlay Plumbing and Heating Ltd to remove a boiler and hot water tank, install a combi boiler in a different location and do various other smaller plumbing jobs. Their engineers did a great job on the timescale and at the cost agreed, they were pleasant to deal with and communicated well. The whole project was well managed and neatly and tidily executed. Scott Findlay Ltd removed our old boiler and replaced it with a new Worcester Bosch boiler last week. We thought we were going to face two highly disruptive days - we are working at home due to the pandemic. This was not the case at all - it went so smoothly. We were very impressed with the professionalism of the engineer (Simon) who fitted the boiler, and other members of the company we dealt with to arrange the boiler replacement. From first contact with the company to the last (they checked to see how it was working after installation) the performance of their entire team was flawless, and they were an absolute pleasure to deal with. We had our old, inefficient boiler replaced with an up to date Bosch boiler. Throughout, Scott Findlay did their best to accommodate our needs and were easily accessible to discuss the work to be done and when. I am a bit late with entering this review but Scott Findlay have just completed another job for us (repair of a burst pipe) which reminded me of how good their service is. Our boiler was declared "dead" last August after some incompetent repair attempts by the contractor (employed by a big name power company) to carry out a service on their behalf. Although Scott Findlay could not do the job immediately they were courteous and professional arranging an appointment as soon as they had space in the diary. Their quote was also £400 less than the other quote we received. We were very satisfied with the work done & the professionalism of the team who installed the boiler as well as the office staff we dealt with. I would recommend giving them a chance to quote for any heating/plumbing jobs.

We required an urgent replacement of our boiler as a fault had been identified by the fault codes on the boiler which caused the boiler to shut down; this was further diagnosed as a fault within the printed circuit board and required the heating to be re-established quickly due to being in the middle of a very cold snap of weather. We had two quotes for the work - Scott Findlay's arrived to survey the work on the Monday at the time previously arranged and had the quotation issued to us on the Wednesday Scott Findlays were just over £800 pounds cheaper than the second reputable gas boiler installation Company. From the date of accepting the quote to having the boiler installed was one day( We were fortunate that another job had been cancelled and that we were treated as a priority as we had no heating and have a child under 8 years of age). The team were amazing from the point of doing the survey to arranging the quotation, payment and installing the project. All on-site employees were compliant with Covid 19 working practices and were clean and tidy from start to finish on the Job - my rating is 10 out of 10- Excellent.

Had a new combi boiler and radiator installed. The work was meant to take 2 days, but due to Covid-19 there was a slight delay with the delivery of the radiator, nevertheless, the work was professional, the technicians were super nice and they made sure the installation was just perfect. We recently had a brand new combi boiler and nest fitted by Scott Findlay plumbing and heating engineers Ltd after a family recommendation. From start to finish the service that was provided was 1st class, every individual we encountered was punctual and efficient. Simon who came out to give us a quote was extremely knowledgeable and very thorough and provided us we many different options. The two engineers Kenny and Brian who relocated and installed the boiler and lastly Brian who commissioned and provided the finishing touches were very professional and had a wealth of knowledge that allowed a seamless and pleasant process. The company were so easy to deal with, yet totally professional. In doing a gas inspection of my flat, they had to condemn the boiler. I asked them foe a quote, which I thought was reasonable. Setting up the appointment was quick, and the work was carried out cleanly and professionally. They also found that a new pump was needed, but that's not surpring after 20 years. Scott Findlay have just replaced our 23 year old boiler which they have kept functioning for us over the last 5 years with a modern condensing boiler.This required replacing the incoming gas pipe from the meter in the garden through the depth of the house to the boiler site at the back and we were very apprehensive about the likely disruption. We knew from past experience that they would do a professional job, but this was more complicated and involved several other trades. The main gas engineer, Cameron worked like a Trojan for three days and all the others involved arrived to schedule and each one did a first class job. Our house and garden were fully restored and all rubble and old equipment removed. Just to mention the before and after-we appreciated Scott coming out the week before to go through what we could expect and have always found Claire and the office staff To be both friendly and efficient.

From the first visit to the offices of Scott Findlay at Meadowbank to the commissioning of the new boiler, the whole process was carried out in a friendly, courteous & professional manner. All the staff were very helpful and explained fully the requirements for each part of the job. Scott Findlay replaced the existing boiler and water heating system with a new combiner's boiler. Their work was efficiently carried out with little disruption and no mess, leaving the property as though it had not been touched during a major re-plumbing job. Their engineers were courteous and worked well with the social distancing rules in place in the day, wiping down surface touched with disinfectant wipes at the end of each day. On completion of the job the operating instructions for the newly installed system with efficiently and concisely explained. I thoroughly recommend Scott Findlay's services.

When water appeared leaking from the ceiling in my downstairs bathroom my heart sank. The suspect was my upstairs shower which had been the culprit 3 years before. It had taken months to trace the problem (leaking pipe at the back of the shower) and had cost a lot of money to fix. Here we were in lockdown. I checked sites such as this and picked Scott Findlay. They were operating during the crisis and had excellent reviews. Clare could not have been more helpful in organising a prompt visit. Kevin came and within minutes had diagnosed the problem, a sealant leak which could be easily (and cheaply) sorted. He fixed the leaking tap in the downstairs bathroom so that I could use that until he returned to fix the shower. Kevin came in with PPE on including mask, gloved and foot coverings, all the right things to wear (I should know, I work in public health). I cannot recommend them highly enough, friendly, efficient and great value. I won't need to look for a plumber again, I know who to go to.

When my elderly mothers boiler broke down on the 24th April I wasn’t sure how easy it would be to get it fixed during the Covid 19 lockdown. I called Scott Findlay as I had used them myself when I had a problem with my boiler. Thankfully they sent an engineer round within a couple of hours of my call and established that a new boiler was required. Amazingly they were able to source a boiler and managed to install it the same day (all while taking the necessary Covid 19 precautions). They advised me that they would have to come back a few days later to finish some pipe work which they did on the following Thursday. Everyone we dealt with at Scott Findlay couldn’t have been nicer. Second annual service following installation of our combi boiler. As usual the process was very smooth from the initial contact in advance of the review right through to the prompt arrival of the engineer and the completion of the work.

My boiler 'died' just as home working/self-isolation was kicking off, which was wonderful timing. After seeing their reviews I decided to contact Scott Findlay for a quote and am so glad I did so. From the very first contact they were professional, friendly, and made it very clear how conscious they were of COVID-19 restrictions. So, as well as checking with me to make sure I had no symptoms, the engineer who provided the quote and installed the boiler took all the necessary precautions (wearing gloves; keeping a distance; etc.), which was very reassuring. Everything was taken care of seamlessly, from sorting out partial finance through to completing all of the registration forms with Worcester, and that allowed me to focus on working from home while the installation took place. I now have a whisper-quiet boiler keeping me cosy, and all with the minimum amount of stress. These guys are highly recommended!!

Our initial job for Scott Findlay was to install a new boiler and radiators, and to have an old boiler flue removed and the roof made good. While their quote might have seemed slightly more expensive than others, in reality they were able to deliver exactly what we wanted, including a Worcester boiler with 10-year guarantee and removing the old flue and fixing the roof. In addition, Scott Findlay offer a finance option, which is extremely helpful for spreading the cost of a large piece of work. From quote to completion, I can't fault the service. The engineers arrived on time, were friendly and tidy, cleaned up after themselves, and got the work done in the time specified. We recently found ourselves with no central heating in a cold February and a ten-year-old boiler. Scott Findlay were prompt and helpful in assessing the repair costs for the existing boiler and then discussing the options available to either repair or install a new boiler. We opted for a new boiler as it was not cost-effective to repair the existing one. Scott Findlay are accredited Worcester/Bosch boiler installers and as this is one of the Which best UK reviewed boilers available - with a twelve-year guarantee - we decided to replace our old boiler with a new Worcester Lifestyle. Their engineers are very professional, and we very much appreciated that they took the time to explain boiler systems in ways we could understand. They checked that we had ancillary heating and water available before leaving the property. The installation was complicated by our boiler being attic based, the property being a listed, old building and the need for a gas meter upgrade and additional external gas piping, but all of the work was carried out effectively and, in the timelines, agreed. Our engineer even installed the new external gas piping while it was snowing outside. The office staff are extremely helpful, and the costs are clearly outlined in advance. We have no hesitation in highly recommending Scott Findlay as a first class, customer-friendly professional company who have carried out our plumbing and heating work to the highest standards.

Great service from initial face to face consultation on all options to final delivery. Combo boiler replaced, water tank removed, header tank disconnected, 6 rads resized and fitted, toilet replaced, WiFi thermostat fitted plus new controller fitted. From the initial visit by Scott, I was so impressed by his knowledge, his explanation of the work involved and the fact that he took into consideration that I am partially sighted, suggesting what could be done to help me, that I didn’t feel the need to get a quote from any other company. Although I thought that my elderly radiators would need to be replaced, I was assured this was not necessary at all. (Other companies would no doubt have happily replaced them unnecessarily, adding to the cost!) I was given a very detailed quotation, and kept informed when work would begin. Delivery of equipment was perfectly co-ordinated. The installers Brian and Cammy arrived when expected, were friendly, helpful, very efficient and worked their socks off. The work involved them not only in my kitchen, but also in a bedroom, the loft, under the floorboards, outside and in the garage. Yes, there were a couple of problems, but these were solved in a professional manner. AND they tidied up beautifully afterwards, leaving my home exactly as they had found it. All in all am very happy with the whole process and would definitely recommend this company.

Second time I've used Scott Findlay for a boiler replacement - initially for my own house in Feb 2018 and now for my son's new flat Sept 2019. Scott assessed what was required, quoted and then arranged for his team to complete the works. This time we had an additional requirement as we asked Scott if the existing radiators could be replaced but that when removing the old radiators could he allow us a week before fitting the new ones so we could wallpaper behind where the radiators were to be installed. Had an old combi-boiler that had been in place since we moved in to the property, and had started giving us issues. Therefore, elected to have it replaced. Got a couple of quotes for replacement with a modern condensing combi, and given we have a young family wanted a reliable model with good warranty. Decided to go with a Woscester Bosch, which as a diamond accredited installer, Scott Findlay are able to offer a 10 year warranty on. Price wise Scott Findlay were coming in at a competitive price compared to installers able to offer similar boiler and warranty. As we had friends who recommended Scott Findlay after recently having similar work completed, decided to go with them. Installation was a smooth process. Work started promptly, completed to time, with everything tidied away at the end. Good communication throughout from organising the quote to completion. Obviously busy company as they had a longer lead-in time to start the work than some other companies. But as the work wasn't urgent for us, so we had no issues waiting to have it done.

I had been putting off replacing the old floor standing boiler for years because I thought it would be very tricky and expensive to do. Just had new Worcester Bosch Combi boiler fitted by Scott Findlay Heating. What a fantastic team, arrived promptly at 8am on the prearranged date, the engineers work solidly throughout the day always conscious of your property and keeping you informed of progress. My installation took 3 full days this included replacing the gas main and flushing the whole system. When job completed I received full instruction on operating my new system and my house was left as found, all rubbish removed and debris swept up. My system is also covered by a complete 10 year guarantee. Highly recommend.

I recently had a new boiler and 3 new radiators installed in an old top floor tenement flat. I got quotes from various companies - but chose Scott Findlay because of the time he took to explain all the things I needed to consider to make an informed choice. The others told me little and I didn't know enough about the process to ask the right questions. The work started and I was immediately impressed - over the course of the job I had 6 or so different workmen in the flat doing various parts of the job and I can honestly say they were all, without exception, some of the best I've encountered. Why? Because they all took care to answer my questions, make suggestions and explain what they were doing. They were tidy and careful - did a splendid job getting under my old and fragile floorboards with the smallest amount of damage, putting everything back with care and attention to minimise the impact. Scott helped me get my radiators powder-coated (they look fantastic!) and choose fancy valves for them so they look beautiful in the room and fit with the decor. It's rare to find tradesmen who have a good eye for what looks good - and understand why it's important. Their communication was great all the way through and that's another thing that can make these sorts of jobs frustrating and is vital for ensuring there are no misunderstandings. All in all, I was very impressed: great quality boiler and radiators, efficient organisation, fantastic work ethic. I would highly recommend them.

We had an intermittent fault with our Worcester Bosch boiler and were also long overdue for a service. We had contacted 2 local firms for help..neither of whom bothered to turn up. Scott Findlay replied to our enquiry promptly and arranged an appointment for an engineer to call. Simon diagnosed and fixed fault quickly and then did a full boiler service which was carried out in a very efficient and professional manner. Great service. Thank you!

I came across Scott Findlay after using another plumber to do what should have been a simple job to replace a kitchen tap. That proved to be too much for that individual and i was left with a leaking tap! Subsequently, the firm has done other small jobs and most recently have replaced my combi boiler. Each time, the engineer has arrived exactly on time and done the work professionally and rapidly. The boiler replacement went very smoothly. Brian worked extremely hard over the two days; I was impressed with the way he protected the flat from dust and dirt and the fact he took very little time out for a break. He explained each step as he progressed and then was very patient with me as he went over the working of the new boiler and thermostat in great detail. I would have no hesitation in recommending the firm to others whether it be for a major job like this recent one or a simple one as in the past.

Just had our boiler replaced by Scott and his team and the whole process went very smoothly. Scott came out to inspect and give a quote. He was friendly, honest and professional and gave some excellent advice. 3 weeks later the boiler has been replaced. Kenny and Brian did a great job, professional, friendly and on time. The replacement boiler has made an incredible difference to our heat and water. I'm glad I did my homework and picked them. A great company and one I would not hesitate to use again or recommend.

I needed to replace our 15 year old boiler and having done some research I obtained quotes from 3 firms (one national and two local). There was roughly £400 difference between lowest and highest but I opted for Scott Findlay (not quite the cheapest quote) for the following reasons: I try to use local trade where possible Overall feedback is very good Appears on which 'Trusted Trader' website Recommended Worcester Bosch Group installer Clarity on the installation process but also (very importantly as it transpired) advised of potential issues - only one of the three that did. From initial quote to final commissioning of the boiler I spoke to / met six people from the business - two office based, Scott Findlay who quoted, the installer and then two follow up visits re testing the gas pressure coming into my house - each person was very professional and helpful / courteous. The boiler was fitted as arranged and the installer tidied up after him. However the gas pressure coming into my house was not sufficient to pass the commissioning test - this was the advice of potential issue Scott advised. To cut a long story short, SGN had to increase the gas flow (at no cost to me) and although a minor inconvenience, I was aware of this so it did not come as a surprise. I understand that if the tests are not carried out correctly and the pressure is too low the guarantee can be invalidated. Sound advice indeed from Scott. Would I recommend or use again - absolutely.

We can't praise the Scott Findlay team highly enough. From the 2 inspections to quote for the job, making sure our boiler replacement met all our requirements (16 radiators). And to the new gas pipe required to facilitate this. The team carrying out this project were professionals and very conscientious. All work completed in time and on budget. Scott came and gave a very fair quote and even talked me out of unnecessarily upgrading to a bigger, more expensive boiler. David installed over 3 days and replaced 3 radiators. All done very tidily, efficiently and with the minimum of hassle - even made sure we had heating when the temperature dropped to -5 overnight, Have since been back to fix 2 other plumbing issues, Would not hesitate to recommend.

I employed Scott Findlay Plumbing & Heating to service my heating system, and to give an appraisal of the system as it had been fitted by a plumber who I now has botched the job. The engineer, Simon, worked very professionally and efficiently keeping the work area clean and tidy. Prompt professional service. I highly recommend them for their competent workforce unlike another the other firm of plumbers who scratched their head and came up with the genius solution that our leak was “a mystery”. This prompted me to look up Which Trusted Traders and find Scott Findlay plumbing & Heating Ltd. Their bill was reasonable too. Claire took charge of co ordinating the plumber works and joinery works as I live some 150 miles away and that’s what I call going the extra mile! Simon and Kenny installed a new lpg boiler, radiators and two showers in a stone cottage, to upgrade us from electric storage heaters and showers. We’ve been putting the job off for a while, not wanting the disturbance, but the job was done quickly, Scott and Claire kept us up to date beforehand and during the works, and the guys did a great job, with very little mess and disturbance, given the size of the job (and the number of thick walls to get through!). The final installation is great;neat and tidy (and much much warmer!). Would definitely recommend.

Our boiler was due for replacement anyway, but it packed in totally during the waiting period so Claire pulled out all the stops to get a swap of dates with another customer - and succeeded. The installation itself was very thorough and professional - done by the book and we had the heating/hot water back on the first day. The engineers not only know their stuff and operate and clean up to a high standard but are very pleasant guys to have around. The communication is also very good and Scott answered all our queries about the new boiler over the phone. We would unhesitatingly recommend.

We'd had a Scott Findlay engineer visit us before - boiler troubles - and it was great when the same engineer, Kevin, walked through the door. We chose Scott Findlay because he gave us a much more thorough assessment of the work to be done than the other firms - with a price that was still in line with them. Based on reviews, we called Scott Findlay for a quote when our boiler was on the way out and decided to go with the company the next day. We were not disappointed. The company could teach many bigger companies something about customer service. The quote was reasonable and we were kept informed at every step. Disruption was minimised despite the fact that we had to have new pipes laid. Times were kept to and all tradesmen sent by the company were pleasant And knowledgeable. We felt totally at ease with the whole project. We especially appreciated that the company made sure every tradesperson knew not to let our cats out.
