MakoExpert Ltd - Property Refurbishment Specialist

We used MakoExpert Ltd. for a complex set of jobs in our kitchen, and was very happy with both the quality of work, and the service. Unlike other traders I've used previously, Mario and his colleagues involved us in all decision-making processes, and ensured we were satisfied with the finished result. Any questions about the jobs were answered immediately, there were no "surprises". I found Mario to be professional, he obviously has a wealth of experience to draw upon, he always gave honest answers and was keen for us to be satisfied with the work. All the work undertaken on-site by MakoExpert and their contractors, was completed to a high standard. All the materials were properly accounted for, with the remainder left with us after completion. I would recommend MakoExpert, and will use them where possible for future work.

Our roof suddenly poured with rain water through two floors, and in our hour of need Mario was kind enough to go out of his way to contact roofers, one of which was able to assist us immediately. Mario checked up on our progress and made sure that all was solved.

Mario has just completed the painting front and back of my house which was in a sorry state. It required a full scaffold and there were various minor repairs and replacements to guttering which he did without hesitation and for an extra charge. Both painting and repairs were done to a high standard as he is a perfectionist and the finished result is very smart. The work is not cheap but I wanted a good result. It took a few weeks to finish as he works alone and there were extra jobs but I prefer a job like this to be done well rather than in a rush. Of course the work must pass the test of time and winter weather but there is a guarantee which I will not hesitate to use if necessary. Mario was consistent and punctual and kept me in touch with progress at all times. He is neat in both work and appearance and respectful of my space and time and always attended to details; he was present at both the construction and removal of the scaffolding. I will not hesitate to use MakoExpert again.

What work did they do? Mario and his team replaced the decking on my balcony last week and I am delighted I found him. He is helpful, honest, professional, friendly and a great tradesman I imagine I wasn't the ideal client as I constantly changed what work needed to be done, due to issues with my Freeholder. It was quite a stressful period but Mario was amazing. He was in constant communication with me and was always happy to amend the work. I also had a deadline and Mario made sure the work would be completed on time. The work itself was impeccable. The job beforehand was atrocious and rather than cover up the mistakes, Mario and his highly skilled carpenter cleaned and corrected the previous tradesmen's errors. He also did so at no extra cost, which was most kind. The decking was laid perfectly and looks great! Having moved to London from overseas it meant I lost my network of trusty contractors, so after three years I am delighted I met Mario. In this city, there are a lot of cowboys but Mario is certainly not one. He is not only trustworthy but he is great at his job and will always make you feel at ease. I cannot recommend him enough!

We spoke with Mario today on the phone who came across as super efficient and punctual with how he deals with the business and the potential job at hand. He said he would create an invoice without first visiting the property as that was the way he does things which was something I wasn't used to do but I like to give everyone a chance, it was certainly different. I told him it was a very small one bed house and needs painting throughout. A couple of hours later I was emailed a quote. The quote stunned the hell out of me, I thought it was a joke at one point! The quote was for £6,800 and that was for labour only.....not paint / equipment or VAT. I was shocked because we've had around ten quotes now for our small one bed house that needs painting throughout and was offered quotes of around £1,000 to £2,500 all in....labour / paint and VAT etc. I'm not here to complain as theres nothing to complain about as traders are free to charge what they like of course, but I just couldn't fathom that amount for our little house when the rest of the quotes were much much lower. I'm free to say no as much as the trader is free to charge what they charge so yes this isn't a complaint Mario as you came across as extremely efficient but yeh, just stunned by the labour cost! :)

Mario and Joanna have been a pleasure to work with. I was let down by a design company and had to get a new painter and decorator and someone to lay a new kitchen flooring in as soon as possible, to complete a fraught job on my new flat. Mako Expert were quick to respond and Mario was in to view the property and work to be completed in days. Mario is extremely knowledgeable, constantly problem solving in a badly designed kitchen, he is detail orientated and a perfectionist, which i appreciated. Mario, laid a beautiful new kitchen floor in for me, prepared my walls, doors, frames and skirting boards and painted them beautifully. I also used a plumber though Mako Expert and discovered they have other trade to complete a job. A great one stop shop!

Mario and his team did such a great job decorating my home that I asked him to do some internal repairs and external work. In addition to the work I asked him to do, Mario advised me on preventive measures to avoid damage to my house. I had no hesitation undertaking the improvements he recommended. Mario consistently delivers outstanding work, is cheerful and cooperative, and he always goes beyond the call of duty.

I can only give excellent feedback for Mario and Mirek and the work they did for us. We had previously had a builder leave our house renovation project incomplete. There were multiple issues that needed to be addressed including issues with heating, plumbing and leaks, electrical work, decorating and making good on previous issues as well as dealing with snagging issues. Some of this work was very complicated as it required uncovering what a previous contractor had done and required scaffolding and other equipment but was effortlessly handled without disruption to us. Mario and Mirek were very friendly and easily contactable. They arrived promptly to assess and give us a quote for the work we needed to complete. They made a lot of effort to keep us regularly updated throughout the day as to what they were doing and what material they needed. Where we needed anything extra to be done (as other issues were uncovered as they began to work) they let us know early and we were able to agree. They went to a lot of effort to make sure that the area was kept clean during and after their work each day. This was especially appreciated as my wife was pregnant and something they were both mindful of without even having to ask. At the end of the project they walked through with us both to ensure we were happy with the work. They have remained contactable since. We are so happy with their work we have recommended them to our parents and would happily use their services again.

Mario from MakoExpert did a great job putting down a new kitchen floor, plastering and painting the kitchen and solving some quirky issues we had been putting up with such as a fridge that quite didn't fit! He was very hardworking, very professional, punctual and tidy. I very much appreciated that he was able to schedule the work to suit me and he communicated with me very well about options and solutions. The new floor is beautiful, the overall kitchen is so much better and fresher and he can be proud of the results. I am pleased I hired him for this task and would recommend him to others.
