We suffered a Shower Pump failure, a hugely inconvenient loss. Grain Plumbing responded very quickly to come out and identify the source of the problem; and to then timetable the acquisition and fitting of a new pump. A welcome hot shower was soon restored! We were very impressed with the speed of response, the engagement of the members of the Grain team who responded to sort out the problem, the patience shown in explaining the problem and the solution; and the expertise displayed to complete the repair. When future plumbing and heating issues arise we look forward to welcoming the team from Grain Heating back to put them right for us.

Mark was very professional and quickly resolved an issue with the boiler and the radiator on the same day. I would highly recommend Mark and will be using again in the future.

When our central heating boiler started to leak it was found to be beyond repair. We contacted Mark who was very busy but offered to replace the boiler in a few days on Sunday. We were very grateful. The job was done very efficiently and expertly.

We have just moved into a new property and Mark came to service the boiler which was showing low pressure. As well as servicing and sorting the boiler out, Mark also gave lots of helpful advice about other jobs we need doing around the house. My old cylinder had a crack and was leaking a lot, so I urgently needed to have it replaced. Mark responded very swiftly: people came on the day I called, I had a quote sent the following day (Friday) and the new cylinder was fitted on Monday all day, and they came back on Tuesday to secure a piece with a wooden frame (extra security). The water was back to running properly on Monday evening, and had hot water on Tuesday morning. I am very pleased with their responsiveness and professionalism (I appreciated that they answered my call on Sunday and addressed my concerns), and the engineers that came to do the work were very nice, and really made the effort to keep the disruption to a minimum. Thank you to Ash who took the time to explain and answer all our questions. Very nice and efficient! It wasn't a cheap job, but in line with what I was expecting in terms of price. The professionalism and quality of the work make it a good value.

Mark goes the extra mile and then some. My boiler developed a leak which was going into the electrics. I contacted Mark mid / late afternoon as a long shot for any chance of a repair that day, hopefully the next day. Not only did Mark (who was in the area) call in and diagnose the problem, but travelled to 2 stockists across the busy city centre at the evening rush hour to get the part, fitted it and left at approaching 7.00pm leaving me with a fully working boiler. Beyond happy!! Invoiced exactly as he estimated despite the time it eventually took. I will be very pleased to both recommend Mark and use him again.

My gas boiler stopped working on a freezing cold day. I called Mark and he came that day. He didn't leave until he had chased up the part needed for the necessary repair and fitted it into the boiler. He worked quickly and professionally and didn't leave until he was sure that the boiler was functioning properly again. I can't praise Mark enough for responding quickly to this emergency and making sure that I had heating and hot water again.

Mark stepped up to provide a temporary repair to our heating system valve leak, managed to source the part from Germany when it was found to be unavailable in the UK and then successfully fitted the part. Mark took the trouble to contact me out of hours and provided updates to the work being done. Much appreciated. Would recommend!

Mark Grain has completed a couple of urgent jobs for me recently. Firstly, after a water leak from a broken pipe in the bathroom he responded within the hour to isolate the leak and returned the next morning to finalise the work and replace a faulty valve. The second job involved resolving a fault on the boiler over the weekend. Both jobs were completed promptly and effectively.

Investigation to locate leak, inside the house. Provision and installation of new taps, new wash basin waste pipe and outside tap. Only a couple of days to wait for a quote and then the same for getting the jobs done. All work done in one day. Professional, efficient and friendly.

This is the second time we have asked Mark to visit us to look at our problems as he impressed us on his first visit with his reliability and overall knowledge, As before, he kept us informed of his availability and on the agreed day his time of arrival. We had a list of various plumbing jobs for him which we duly handed over and then left him to it. Thankfully he set about efficiently working through the list without an any qualms nor any further input from us. The list of jobs was soon finished to our satisfaction and to a certain extent our admiration. Mark was no trouble and I can recommend him especially to the more mature members who like myself have very little DIY knowledge of domestic plumbing.

My toilet cistern had been leaking slightly into the bowl for a while but suddenly got much worse and was refilling every ten minutes. Mark called by at very short notice even though he had a very busy schedule; he happened to be in the neighbourhood so he came to have a look. He was going to book me in but decided to take the tiles off the concealed cistern there and then to see what the problem was. He took extreme care with the tiles, making sure the flexible sealant was not going to cause the bathroom mirror to crack. I had a replacement siphon / flush valve ready to go so Mark cut that to size and took extreme care with the existing cradle that fits on top. He fitted the siphon and this stopped the water trickling straightaway. Mark said he would source some flexible grey sealant and call by later in the afternoon to reseal the tiles. He did indeed call by and took great care to ensure the sealant blended in with the existing sealant and grout. So this was all sorted in no time – same day – excellent quality work. My parents were due to come a few days later for my son’s graduation so it was really nice to have this sorted in time. It’s clear that Mark takes pride in his work and he was keen to make sure I was happy with the work. I thoroughly recommend him.

Mark came in on the shortest of notices, attended twice by stretching his schedule to fit us in, and fixed our boiler swiftly. Absolutely and highly recommended!

I moved into a new house and found the shower made odd noises. Spoke to Mark over the phone and he had a good idea what the issue was and how much it would be roughly to fix. He got the parts I needed and arrived a few hours later and replaced the shower for me. He checked everything was working and all the taps were still good before leaving. Great experience would definitely use again.

I have nothing but paise for Mark. The installation of a Smart Meter (by another contractor) established there was a dangerous gas leak within the property despite there being no smell of gas. As a GasSafe recommended engineer, Mark was able to detect the location of the leak (which was far from straightforward) and to fix it - rendering my home safe. His analytical powers for tracking down the source of the leak were worthy of Sherlock Holmes - and he fixed the fault, rendering my home safe from a potential catastrophe. I can sleep safely tonight. Could anyone else need a finer recommendation?

I know plumbers are always busy but I had a visitor arriving bank holiday Monday and my toilet cistern was leaking constantly. Mark sent a colleague who fixed it. He did a very good job at short notice before my visitor came. He was very nice, polite and clean.
