All works completed as quoted in an extremely professional manner considering the awful weather conditions ( it rained nearly every day from start to finish over the six weeks it took to complete the works ). The trader was always polite,helpful and nothing was too much trouble. I would certainly recommend him and use him again for any future works.

Thatch repair and re-ridging a kitchen extension. We were badly let down by another thatcher who walked out leaving the job not finished and loads of mess. Nick and team sorted it out and finished the job leaving everywhere tidy. They finished on time and did some tidying up after the scaffolding came down while we were away. They did an amazing job, completed the thatch, added a fire barrier, sorted out a half finished window and then ridged to finish. They cleared up every evening and left everything clear at the end. The contract we had with them was comprehensive and the payment schedule was very clear. Their communication was very good. Can highly recommend, a really good job completed with no fuss. Our house is beautiful again. If I need work done in the future I will certainly use them again.

This is the second time I’ve used Nick and the team, this time for a new ridge. They are punctual, courteous and completed the job to a fantastic standard, both times ahead of schedule.

I was very apprehensive about having the ridge on my thatched cottage renewed. Nick gave me a quote for his work, arranged for the scaffolder and coordinated his work. He told me it would take about 3 weeks, which it did. It did not go above budget. When there was a problem with the brickwork and leading around the chimney he arranged for its expert resolution. All in all it was work done by a very pleasant and helpful team with a great deal of expertise and knowhow. I'm very pleased with the end result.

Nick and his Team completed a high quality water reed re-thatch of our listed cottage in a timely, professional manner. They were reliable, polite and kept perfectly to the quoted 8 week timescale and price quoted. They were considerate, flexible and kept the site as tidy as possible. The cost to do a proper job such as this does not come cheap, but it was a price we felt prepared to pay to get the work completed on time and to a high standard. My wife and I bought a Thatched Barn conversion and quickly got Nick and the team from Master Thatchers South round to put a complete new thatch on. Through the whole process it was a pleasure dealing with the team. They were always available to answer questions and put any fears of a taking on a big job like this as new owners out of our head. MTS took care of everything, from organising the scaffolding, to disposal of the old thatch, to cleaning up of the once they had finished. Over the three months of the job, the team turned up every day rain or shine and kept us informed of how things were going. If they found anything wrong it was fixed. We lost 7 working days due to rain but the MTS team made sure the house was water tight. Even coming over to check if all was OK when the wind was blowing. I cannot recommend MTS enough, if you have a thatched property call Nick and the team.

Nick and his team have just finished replacing the thatch ridge on our roof and they have done an outstanding job. The new ridge looks stunning, and they also painstakingly tidied the rest of the roof so the whole thing now looks very smart indeed and will stand us in good stead for years to come. Every member of the team worked with great skill and care - in bitterly cold conditions - and were a pleasure to have on site. They arrived promptly each day, were polite and communicative, and did a great job of tidying up at the end of each day. The work was finished on time and we were invoiced exactly as per our quote.
