MB Electrics was established in 1987 by owner Martin Burke and has steadily grown over the years. At present we have a staff of
6 operatives and 1 office manager. We carry out all types of electrical work, domestic, commercial and industrial also Electrical Installation Condition Reports, Emergency Lighting and Portable Appliance Testing.

We have a varied clientele which includes industrial, commercial and private clients. The type of electrical work undertaken ranges from housing associations, building contractors, restaurant and bar chains, motor organisations, local churches, nursing homes, distribution centres and warehouses as well as private customers located throughout Glasgow.

Excellent service from Martin and his team. Explained our options clearly and gave advice around best choice. Arrived on time, clean workmanship and follow up satisfaction call shows care and great customer service. Unfortunately the new heater had a Faulty control panel (not Martins fault) and Martin quickly attended to this by arranging the repair under the Dimplex warranty and issue now resolved. Highly recommend this company.

I recently had new smoke alarms installed In my home due to the new regulations in place. Martin from MB electrical could not have been more helpful, very pleasant, explained everything really well and done the work at a very reasonable price as I also got quotes from a few other companies which were charging more to do the job. From start to finish all was really quick and professional. Will definitely be using MB electrical again and would highly recommend them.

MB Electrical recently advised me on my requirements to meet smoke alarm regulations, and then carried out the required work to supply and fit the alarms really quickly. Really efficient and professional service right from the initial phone call through to the job being complete - no fuss, no mess and all done at a very reasonable price. We are having some work done to an old domestic property that had some very weird electrics ( fireproof industrial electrics) Every other electrician we approached ran a mile or as soon as shown pictures or was not skilled enough to deal with it. Martin and his crew were fantastic. Not only did they survey the property thoroughly but were able to then advise how to proceed maintaining safe electrical standards all the way through and retaining the actually totally safe existing electrics but allowing us to tailor requirements to more modern appliances and needs. We now have a fully compliant system that meets all our needs and requirements. They did superb professional work, turned up on time and cleaned up after themselves, when everyone else had run away. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

Didn't turn up. Rude on phone.
I asked Martin to visit on Thursday morning and provide a quote. He said yes for 9:30 and then didn't turn up. When I called to inquire he accused me of not confirming the appointment when there was no indication a reply was needed. My email: "Hi Martin, Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I'm afraid I have awkwardly timed meetings tomorrow morning and afternoon. I could do Thursday morning if that works? Thanks, Gerry" His reply: "Hi, Yes, that be great same time 9:30. Martin" Misunderstandings happen but no need to be so accusatory and defensive and then rudely hang up. No apology for the misunderstanding or inconvenience given that I had to rearrange my work.

Asking for replacing the storage heater. The boys come very on time, the work is professional, have good work done with setting my heater ready to go, they adjust the heater time to the actual time after installation. More importantly, they also clean and make everything tidy after work. Really professional and what customers want. Would definitely recommend MB to my friend!

I had requested EICR on 2 properties. Martin responded promptly and the quotes were reasonable. The work was completed to time and budget and the certificates were sent promptly after payment. The 2 reports were rated in Good condition. There were no observations on the first property ‘A’, but 3 non urgent improvements were noted on the second, property ‘B’. I was sent a quote for the works which I considered excessive and said to Martin that I would get other quotes. To my surprise, Martin noted he would have to downgrade the previous report, (which was all signed off) and call out that urgent repairs were now required! This, he said was because I wasn’t using his company for the remedial works and he wasn’t sure if the works would be carried out. In addition, he sent a revised report to my letting agent indicating the property was dangerous and urgent repairs were required. The agent consequently informed me they couldn’t let the property until the repairs. I was not even sent a copy of the revised report even though I ordered and paid for the the tests. I challenged this and queried if this was the industry norm: to issue a report in the expectations for additional works and then downgrade it if the customer chooses a diff contractor. Martin insisted this was not the case that they choose not to put in the full details in the first report so the customer wouldn’t have to pay for a new EICR. Found the whole thing very strange and unprofessional.
