MD Aerials

I asked Mike to remove an old aerial on a property I am trying to sell for a family member. I live in Spain and was unsure if I would struggle to find a reputable person that I could trust with keys to the property. I am not local to Thornbury either, so I could only go on online reviews. I must say that I was very pleasantly surprised. Mike removed the aerial which had come loose in a storm at very short notice and at a very reasonable rate. I was impressed with his professionalism and I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone else. All in all a very satisfactory job done quickly and at a good price.

Mike is excellent, fast, efficient, tidy, absolutely, he left no mess and an exceptional installation. Arriving promptly, Mike managed to re use my existing satellite dish and renewed the bracket and cables, saving cost! My external cables were installed to be almost invisible. No dust left from drilling and the old cables removed neatly.

Mike was everything you’d want from a tradesman. Reliable, punctual, tidy, and did the job efficiently and at the price quoted. He managed to install the aerial within the loft which was what we preferred and then he checked reception and tuning on TVs. He was great so we would have no hesitation in using him in the future.

Can’t recommend Mike highly enough. Great communicator. Called me back when he said he would and called ahead of his visit to check still convenient. He came with all the correct equipment to check our signal quickly, properly and to fix it. If we hadn’t asked for the new dish (which he also had on his van) I reckon he would have been in and out inside 15 minutes! There was no push to sell the new dish, I just thought it would be sensible as he was here. Experienced, equipped and worth every penny.

I sought two traders to install Freesat satellite dish, two aerial sockets for two rooms, TV wall mounted bracket. Mike fitted a new aerial on our chimney so we could receive Freeview. Mike was professional and friendly. He arrived on time, assessed the job, agreed the details with me, and completed the installation quickly despite quite bad weather. Mike hid the aerial wire very neatly behind an existing downpipe. Finally, Mike stayed to tune in both our Freeview devices. The invoice was as originally quoted.

Great service. Replaced my old fallen aerial with a new log periodic one which should be less susceptible to wind. The signal strength and quality are now 100/100. Very neat job at a reasonable cost.

My parents have been having problems with their satellite dish and TV reception for ages. Mike was very sympathetic on the phone, helpful and courteous and we agreed to meet at their house to sort the issue. He was punctual and polite and made it easy to understand what the problem was and what the options were. He was fast at work but had time to discuss and make sure we were happy. He was also very reasonable. I would *highly* recommend Mike to anyone.

The work was very neat and well done. Communication was good - I needed a TV aerial and another aerial fitted that Mike had not come across before but he researched it and kept me updated and did a great job. We had a noisy aerial (part of it had become loose and clattered in windy weather) and no TV reception. Mike gave us an estimate for adjusting the aerial and another for replacing it. He arrived promptly and investigated everything thoroughly, discovering corroded cables along with our very old aerial. He discussed options with us. Then, he replaced the cables and aerial before checking that everything worked. He also removed the old aerial and left everything in a tidy state. Altogether, we thought his approach was thorough, friendly and efficient. We would definitely be happy to recommend his work.

Michael was going on holiday when I phoned him and we booked a date for him to come on his return. He arrived with a smile exactly when he had promised and quickly diagnosed the problem .He was efficient ,friendly and polite and successfully secured part of the aerial which had become dislodged in the bad weather, and charged me only for his labour. Mike visited initially to review the issues with several TV's in our house. He returned a week later as agreed and sorted the issue - connecting new cabling to an existing aerial that had been moved following building work, retuning smart TV's that weren't picking up BBC channels. Moved 1 TV to bedroom. Wall mounted but awkward location. Installed 2 new TV's wall mounted. One corner mount and one flat wall. All work very professionally done. Would not hesitate to use Mike again

Mike of MD Aerials put up a wall mount for the TV and mounted the TV on to it. He also dealt with the associated cabling, including drilling a hole through a wall and fixing conduit to keep everything tidy and out of sight. His work was very neat and he did not damage any of the room decorations. He cleaned up afterwards and left everything spic and span. The work was done on time and to the previously agreed budget. Mike was very polite, wore a mask indoors all the time and was easy and pleasant to deal with. I would have no hesitation in using him again and recommending him to others.

Wall mounted TV's and installed a satellite dish. Worked fast and well, very tidy. Covid aware, wore a mask at all times inside. Had all the right equipment and knowledge. Polite and helpful; proud of his work. Fair prices for good and honest work.

I contacted Mike at MD Aerials for help setting up a second-hand TV. This is possibly not one of his usual tasks but he willingly came along promptly and soon had the TV working. He was very patient and carefully explained the new set up. We couldn't have done it without him. He had done work for us some years ago installing a new aerial socket and fixing a TV to the wall. I would highly recommend him.

We left a message about getting work done. On his return from his holiday Michael called as promised and discussed our requirements. He booked in to see us the following week. Mike is very up to date with equipment and careful with checking for faults before setting a plan. I appreciated that Mike does not replace equipment which does not need replacing. Extremely safe and speedy installation and took trouble with checking lines and television reception. Very clean and tidy. Covid aware and uses safe practices.

We had a reception problem with our tv. Michael turned up promptly, quickly identified the problem and explained it to me in terms I understood. He then gave me the options available depending on what he found when inspecting the roof aerial. He remedied my reception problem quickly and efficiently. The cost was very reasonable.

I spoke to Mike on the phone initially and explained that I wanted some help to fix a broken roof tile and replace a temperature sensor on my solar panel on my roof. I immediately got a good vibe about him from our conversation and asked if he would come out to have a look at my roof and also how much roughly it would cost to which he said about £60 (a normal call out charge). He turned up as agreed and was a pleasure to deal with. My broken tile turned out to be rotten wooden roof batons and damaged roof felt meaning my tile was tilted giving the impression it was cracked. I supplied him with some wooden batons I luckily had in my garage and some spare roof felt I had in my shed and he fixed the problem. Mike then had a look at trying to replace the temperature sensor in my solar panel but after quite a while trying to gain access to the sensor he was open and honest with me and explained the reasons why the couldn't get access to it to get it out. Instead Mike offered to fix the existing cable leading to the sensor by remaking the broken cable joint and replacing the solar insulation (which I had some spare) that surrounded the cable and solar pipework. Both problems are now fixed and I'm really delighted with the work he has done. Mike was at my house for about 1 1/2 hours and only charged me £60. He was very approachable and I'd definitely call on him again and recommend him to anyone without hesitation. Many thanks Mike for excellent work done.

Mike provides excellent service - whether his speed of responding to an initial inquiry, his commitment to the time and date of the appointment to conduct the work, the quality of work performed, his quiet "get on with it" approach, or the quality of workmanship - all are excellent and I would have no hesitation in employing him again if and when circumstances require.

We have used Mike on a few occasions and every time he has been professional, efficient, and thoroughly personable. On each occasion he has arrived to check a fault, and on each occasion he has found that fault and rectified it whilst there. His knowledge is first class, and yet never makes you feel silly when you try to offer information. Most recently he fitted us in between calls and had the problem sorted within half an hour. I was very impressed with the prompt efficient service from Mike of MD Aerials. There was a leak in my old Tv aerial cable on the roof causing water to leak down to the internal aerial booster. Mike arrived at the agreed time and did a thoroughly professional job in replacing the old cable which involved quite a climb onto our high roof. The cost of the repair was fair and reasonable. I would definitely use MD aerials in the future and recommend them to anyone.

Mike did a great job putting up an amateur radio antenna for me. He was punctual thorough and polite. 5 stars from me.

Michael arrived exactly on time, discussed the problem, checked the existing TV port and explained that required signal band was different to the original. Existing aerial was very old. Went up to the chimney and fitted a new aerial. Went into loft to connect new cable to junction box. Tuned two TV sets, sensible results, and was willing to return if any problem arose. Also, I politely asked for photos around the chimney to check the cement pointing, which was done using his phone. Michael used a face mask and gloves due to Covid problem. Cost was reasonable. Only two hours. Perfect work in every way!

Mike responded to my enquiry very quickly and was able to visit within three days. He replaced a damaged power box and checked out another problem tv. He was Covid -secure, efficient and professional throughout and came in on his estimated budget. I have no hesitation in recommending him.

All TV’s in our home started intermittently losing signal until we lost the signal altogether. It was the day before Christmas so nothing could be done. I emailed Mike & he responded really quickly & booked us in as soon as he could after the holidays. He arrived at the agreed time, Covid-secure with mask & distancing adhered to. Mike replaced the aerial a couple of years ago so when the TV signal started breaking up I contacted him. Despite being extremely busy, he managed to fit in a visit. It turned out to be a fault in the TV, but he showed me an alternative way to view through the recorder tuner. Because he hadn't actually fixed the problem he refused payment, despite having spent nearly half an hour investigating it. I didn't know Traders like this still existed! Highly recommended.

We recently had an aerial installed. We were happy with initial quotation and Mike was far more helpful and approachable when discussing options. Work was completed on time & on the day specified. It was completed to budget and the job was neat and tidy. While in our house Mike was careful, neat and tidy. Our TV aerial and network of cables has always been a bit bizarre since we moved into our house 5 years ago. We have put up with poor and intermittent reception. MD Aerials came to the rescue and Michael rapidly diagnosed the problem with his testing kit and knowledge and skill. I expected to have to wait for the work to be done but he set about fixing it immediately. He was neat tidy skilled and efficient. Very reasonable cost also.We are very pleased and highly recommend him.

What work did they do? Mike analysed each element of the system, (signal booster, aerial and cables) he quickly diagnosed the problem and fitted a new aerial. He works quickly and efficiently. I found Mike to friendly, trustworthy and knowledgeable and would not hesitate to recommend him to others. Was it done to the agreed schedule and budget? Mike turned up on time and worked efficiently and the bill was in line with our earlier phone conversation, as a bonus Mike also took away the scrap parts which saved me a trip to the tip.

Would highly recommend MD aerials. Mike came to assess the problem with my TV service and provided a quote the day after my initial call to him. He gave me an approximate arrival time but then called when he was on his way and let me know what time to expect him. The required work was booked in for the following Monday. Mike arrived on time and replaced my aerial and aerial cable restoring a full TV service.

After deciding to move from virgin to free view we needed advice on the setup and system to use. Mike gave us sound advice on what was needed to recommission the Ariel sockets and also on free view box choices. He returned the following week to fit the necessary hub and booster and set up our new system and explained how it all worked. A very professional and efficient job. We had a new aerial point fitted and work to enhance tv signal in another room. Excellent, clean and tidy trader, very helpful and knowledgeable and went over and above what was asked of him. Sensible pricing and would definitely recommend.

Just had 3 Aerial points put into our house in 2 bedrooms and our kitchen. This required 2 hours worth of work giving full consideration to where we wanted the aerial points in each room. We were kept informed throughout the two hours being updated and talked through what was being done next and every consideration was given. The price is fantastic considering the amount of work and how much time taken. I would highly recommend Md Aerials for any work you may need doing. Nothing was too much trouble.

I chose MD Aerials out of the two local companies based on the fact that they had a Trusted Trader icon and was delighted with the service. Prompt, efficient and great value. The initial job was to run a new aerial cable to a second TV point. This was spurred from the existing aerial cable and a very neat job made. I then mentioned a problem I had with a recently installed Virgin V6 TV box where the Virgin Engineer said he could not use an existing satellite cable that already ran to the main TV and was hidden from sight. The Virgin man said I would need to run a cable inside the house which would have looked horrible. He also said he was not really allowed to climb ladders! MD Aerials said that it should be OK to use that cable and that he would give it a try and hurrah it worked fine! He also showed me that the V6 box had Wifi so I would not need to install the RJ45 WiFi adaptor I was going to buy - again not explained by the Virgin man!

Mike was prompt, helpful, knowledgeable and reassuring about our needs. He was totally reliable, worked quickly and neatly. We were so pleased with the results. He set up a Freesat TV for us in our kitchen and a Freesat box in our lounge. We would definitely recommend him to others.

Mike fitted a new aerial for me on the roof with two new feeds running down the outside walls and in through the cavity wall into two separate rooms. Before leaving he checked that all the aerial points in the house had a good signal and even reduced the final bill relative to the quotation due to no longer needing an aerial booster.
