He eventually arrived and it took him 4 minutes to condemn the whole roof - can’t help and went. Really stressed now. I found Mike's number from Which? Trusted Traders who sent a couple of guys that afternoon. They found a broken tile, had a selection of tiles for emergency use in the van, replaced the tile, job done in10 minutes and a dry roof. Scott and the team from Mike Carroll Ltd were able to re-roof our cottage at short notice to fit in with a solar panel installation when we found out that the current roof wasn't quite up to it. They managed to re-slate one side to allow our panel installation to continue with minimal delay and then returned shortly afterwards to complete the rest of the roof. All done at a fair price, beīng the middle of 3 quotes. A friendly and professional team from quote to completion, great commnication and a pleasure to work with. We had replacement fascia's, soffits and guttering to the house and garage as well as a rubber roof to the garage. The team of up to 5 people were friendly and very obliging, worked well as a team, and finished within the agreed time. There were one or two minor things I felt needed adjustment and they were rectified speedily to my complete satisfaction and the whole job came in under the original estimate. I chose them because they had all their own scaffolding for my difficult access and the resources for a big job and I'm very glad I did.

We had a small leak near our chimney and called 2 roofing firms. One said we needed a complete re-roofing of our Victorian slate roof - whereas Mike Carroll Ltd said our roof was pretty solid and merely needed repairs in patches. On the day, Scott and Tyler put up a small tower, investigated the roof, explained again what they needed to do, and did it all swiftly and expertly. They were cheerful, neat and tidy and put everything back - and even helped my neighbour who suddenly needed a ladder. As the job was smaller than their estimate, they adjusted their invoice. We got 3 quotes for a flat roof, and Mike Carroll Roofing came in at the middle quote. Detailed quote received, including full information on what materials they would use. Sadly due to weather our job was delayed twice but I was kept informed at all times by Scott. On the day, Scott and 3 colleagues arrived at 8am and got the job done in one day which was most appreciated. They were all helpful and friendly, and probably the tidiest tradesmen ever! All rubbish cleared as soon as it appeared, everything was left clean and clear and they couldn't have been nicer. We had new cement verges to the rear and front gables and bird-stop and EPS gutter to 2 side elevations done. Mike Carroll had given us a very fair quote and we had seen this company do a great job with the same work on our next-door neighbour's house last year. After having several people quote for a full shed reroof Mike Carroll was the only one to quote an acceptable price including legal disposal of arisings which was not the case with marginally cheaper quotes and much less than the highest. Quote came quickly with the caveat that, due to workload, there was no certainty of being done sooner rather than later. Subsequently given a date in November but got called to say a team could do the work last week. I was happy to agree and 3 guys Alastair Sam and Tom came at 0800 and left mid afternoon having replaced the old roof with neat and tidy new boarding and rubber surface guaranteed for 20 years and a 2 year guarantee on workmanship. Everything was cleared away and they kept me informed about what they were doing so I remained happy. I would be very happy to use the company again.

Mike Carroll Ltd were recommended by another builder who could not take on our job for a year or so. The job was wholly renewing the verge cement and refitting the roof tiles, etc, for three roof pitches at our house. Mike came promptly to produce an estimate, said he could not do it for three months as he was fully booked and gave us a date in September. Three days before he phoned to say the weather was not good and gave us a new date three days hence. each day Scott, who was to do the work, phoned and emailed to let us know that the approved day was still on. Scott and James arrived and did the work in two days. They were friendly, very efficient and cheerful. They were a pleasure to have around and kept everything tidy. All old cement was removed and disposed of cleanly. The cement mixing was contained in a plastic lipped tray and after they had cleaned up, hosed the pavings, etc, everything was clean as a whistle. I thoroughly recommend this firm and indeed I have requested an estimate for further work. It was good to work with an utterly trustworthy builder whose employees are cheerful, polite and highly professional.

The team from Mike Carroll Ltd have recently completed the installation of rubber roofing to my two large high-level dormer windows and a single storey extension, replacing 40-year-old zinc roofs. When Mike came to assess the job and to measure for the quotation, I was so impressed with his approach and attitude that I never bothered to get another quote - if you feel confidence in someone then that to me is more important than trying to get a cheaper price. Once the job had started, Scott and his team carried out the work in a thoroughly professional way. They were clean, methodical and moreover took care around the property to minimise damage to planting and areas around where they worked. Each day they arrived on time (mostly early!) and discussed with me, before they started, what they expected to complete that day. There was never any shouting, swearing or loud music, just quiet 'banter' and discussions about what to do and how, which was appreciated in a quiet area. I was a Chartered Building Surveyor and Construction Project Manager during my working career and appreciate Scott's in-depth knowledge of his trade and his approach to the work - you get to know when someone knows what they are doing and just gets on with it, giving confidence in their ability. This attitude to doing a good job and listening to the customer seems to have been instilled into the whole workforce (at least the ones I saw) and they are all a credit to the company.

Mike and his team installed new fascias, gutters and some new felt to a flat roof above a Utility room in 2015. Excellent people to deal with and very professional and good workers, leaving the place clean and tidy. Some minor repairs were required to a leaking gutter, and a downpipe had come adrift from the gutter above. A phone to Mike Carroll set the repair in motion. Seven days later a team of two arrived, after phoning to make sure I was in. Quickly and efficiently repaired the leaking gutter with a 'new union joint' and sorted the downpipe which had come adrift from the gutter area. Good work by Scott and his assistant. Thanks.

Very please with Mike and his team, very nice bunch of people. They took my concrete gutters out and replaced with new pvc guttering and fascia boards. We were expecting more mess with the removal of the old gutters but there was no evidence they had ever been when they left. Can’t complain about the cost, not the cheapest quote we got but I’m glad we decided to go with them as the finish looks much better than a neighbour that had it done on the cheap… Would recommend highly.

Very polite workers and work superficially good. Advised roof in good condition. Soon after departure found birds trying to build a nest there. On investigation found gaps in bird stop in three of the four corners of the roof and old downpipe brackets left attached. Poor response from Mike where I got can’t come due “very busy” “short staffed” “must be something wrong with your roof”. Offered day where I was not at home and have heard nothing since, “you don’t need to be there”. Somewhat flippant.

Our 1920s property had lots of difficult angles, old rafters and very long gutter runs with narrow fascias so lots of challenges which Mike pointed out when he quoted for the work. When the work started Scott and the team worked hard, were totally professional and polite at all times, and were a pleasure to have on site. They kept us informed of what they were doing and about solutions to any issues they encountered. They were very clean and tidy, and particularly respectful when they needed access via next-door’s drive. We had to wait a few months for the work to be done as Mike was so busy which is a good sign! Had Mike Carroll and his team do a lot of work on my property. Replacement Fascias, soffits and guttering to the whole house, together with replacing the leaking roof felt on my double length garage with fleece backed EPDM rubber membrane. The quote was competitive and I decided to opt for a dedicated roofing company rather than a double glazing company that also did fascias etc. The weather was very cold but the guys were all very cheery. The weather was also inclement and very windy at times causing one day to be cancelled but this was made up by having five members of the team on the next day, thus ensuring the work was all completed as quickly as possible. The site was kept tidy and cleared up at the end of each day. The rotting gable ends were replaced as well as the rotten garage roof boards. The option of having this done was mentioned in the original schedule and I took up this option at a reasonable cost after seeing the very poor state of the original wood once uncovered. The work was completed to a very high standard which looks excellent. My wife and I are very pleased. Had a couple of minor snags which is understandable with such a large job but these were rectified very promptly. This gives me great confidence about the after sales service. Nothing was too much trouble and I have enough confidence in Mike Carroll to recommend him and his team to anyone.

The job of removing my shed's roof of asbestos sheets and replacing it with a Duo Play Fleece backed single ply rubber membrane was carried out efficiently and professionally by James and Jerome in one day - ahead of schedule. The gutter was still leaking, after two attempts to fix, where it connects to neighbour's gutter. They did fix the leak over front door. I had to vacuum mess in porch area, left by them. After several attempts to fix the leak between my new gutter and my neighbour's old cast iron gutter, they have replaced their gutter. This beyond anything that I and my wife expected. Changed our opinion completely.

Three years ago I used MCR to replace my facias and soffits and I also had a dovecote on my garage roof plasticated. Last week I needed a repair on the dovecote and contacted MCR. Within 3 days they had visited and completed the necessary repairs all at no cost. I think this is excellent aftercare and customer service. I have no hesitation in recommending this company.

Called Mike Carroll for a quote because of a friends recommendation. Friend wasn’t wrong. Came out,gave the cheapest quote straight off,arranged a fitting date for my gutters,soffits and facias. Replaced facias, soffits & guttering on our garage, and fitted chimney cowl & checked condition. Excellent job, arrived on time even though it rained heavily. Due to weather conditions they returned promptly to complete the job. Work was of a high standard & they did a great job keeping things tidy - they had to access our neighbours property to complete the job and were very careful to leave their properties clean and tidy and undisturbed. Contacted Mike and he responded very quickly for quote for roof repair and replacement soffits/fascias.His quote was very good compared to another one so we agreed on a starting date.They had a cancellation so actually started a week earlier and 3 days all finished looks great and no mess.Highly recommend them

Our lead-lined valley gutter sprang a leak in recent heavy rain. Mike gave us a reasonable quote to replace it with Hertalan rubber so we decided to go ahead. Scott and Sam arrived very early on the date agreed and started work straight away. They were both very polite and friendly and kept us well-informed on the progress. The work took two days, during which they both worked extremely hard, with minimal breaks. We were very impressed. The work is very neat and they tidied up well after finishing. Considering that they were on our roof, we hardly knew they were there as the noise was minimal. I would recommend them without question.

From initially contacting Mike I have received an excellent service. From the initial quote, Mike kindly clarified an aspect of the terms and conditions I didn't understand, a date for work to begin was agreed and then Mike contacted me a week beforehand to confirm the work would start on the agreed date (I was surprised at this as we had just experienced storm Brian and thought a previous job may have been delayed as a result). The 2 guys (Jerome and Sam) arrived on the first day, introduced themselves and explained what they would be doing. Each day they said what they would be doing and then ended the day by saying what they had achieved. They were very polite and well mannered. The work itself looks good - I had new fascias, soffits and guttering done, plus the gable end and ridge tiles re-cemented. The guys were very tidy with their work and cleared up at the end of each day. I'm very pleased and would HIGHLY recommend Mike Carroll and his team - thank you guys.

Mike and team replaced all soffits, gutters and fascia's on our house and made a very good job of it. The quality of the work is high and it was a pleasure to have such polite, prompt and tidy tradespeople around the house. In recent torrential rain we noticed a drip coming from the join of our gutter where it meets the neighbours. Contacted Mike and they quickly rectified this and re-positioned a slipped slate on our roof that they noticed - which was not their responsibility. Mike's team arrived on time and completed the job in the stated timescales. They did a nice neat job and left the place tidy. There was just one small problem with a badly scratched down-pipe but this was replaced quickly with no quibbles. Overall, then, highly recommended.

Mike gave us a quote for replacing gutters and fascias, and capping the soffits. It wasn't the cheapest, but it was the most thorough quote, with everything explained, so I was expecting a professional job, which is what we got. Scott and Ash worked quickly, and were happy to answer my queries and concerns as the job went on The finished job looks great, and Scott came back promptly to finish off a couple of details I had asked for. They also did a couple of running repairs to other parts of the roof without charge, and I am asking them to come back to do a permanent repair. Very happy with the job they did.

After ringing around to find a company to install a new flat roof on my parents house, I was given the number of Mike Carroll. From start to finish they have been a brilliant company to use. His team arrived a few days later and erected their scaffolding wth minor inconvenience. They returned a few days later and completed the job within reasonable time and to a very high standard. We chose Mike and his team through local recommendation, signage outside then current works and his website.We have a semi detached cottage with the loft converted to a third bedroom with what was then a leaking dormer window, old metal guttering, wooden fascia's, old tiling...and not in the best of positions for access. Mike arrived as agreed and straight away we felt in safe hands. The initial request was for guttering and replacement fascia's, but after discussion around what would be needed in terms of access and scaffolding, we decided to have Mike look at the dormer cladding, roof of the dormer and front roof aspect which after discussion wasn't that much more in terms of money as I had thought, Mike's quote came in very competitively. Mike arranged the scaffolding company on our behalf and the work started on schedule, the teams were polite and courteous and to be honest we left them to get underway and you wouldn't know they were there to be honest, they were clean and tidy and knew exactly what they were doing and happy to chat on progress etc, battling through some poor weather too. Mike was only a phone call away. Halfway through the works, I decided to ask Mike about the rear aspect of the roof being done as well, this was no issue, it was late notice and Mike sorted the scaffolder's, getting it moved to the rear of the property and managed to re arrange his schedule to accommodate the longer time on site with us, which he was able to do. We are very pleased.
