MJN Decorators

I would recommend Michael to anyone who requires a decorator. We have employed him on 2 occasions to repair and decorate our hallway and 4 bedrooms. His work has always been outstanding. He is a hard working professional who takes pride in his job and has finished well on time and within budget. We expect to be using him again in the near future.

We used MJN Decorators for the front and back exterior of our house, including gutters, sofits, front door and garage doors. We had used them before and wanted to use them again because they did such a good job the first time. The approach to the job was completely professional and considerate. No mess at the end of each day's work and definitely went the extra mile, cleaning windows and PVC frames. I would definitely recommend MJN Decorators without hesitation. Started and finished on time as per the quote and the quote did not change after the work was completed, even though extra tasks were undertaken. Completely satisfied with the results - an excellent job and great attention to detail.

MJN Decorators have renovated and repainted the greatly neglected frontage woodwork, stonework and render of our Edwardian house, which involved extensive repair and refurbishment activity. Both the preparatory work and the painting were done very thoroughly and expertly indeed. Michael took remarkable care with this work. He is a friendly, industrious and painstaking craftsman who listened to our concerns and ideas, offered good advice, and dealt competently with issues we had not foreseen. He charged a very fair and reasonable price for a truly outstanding outcome. Our house now looks stunning.

MJN replastered two rooms in our victorian terrace and repainted it from top to bottom. Michael, was very professional, efficient and friendly. The work was of a very high standard and the job reasonably priced. We are very pleased that we chose MJN to do the work and would highly recommend them to anyone looking to redecorate their home.

I was very happy with the repairs and finish MJN provided for the windows at the back of my Victorian house last year. Michael's quote was the middle of three quotes and far below the most expensive. That work is still looking good so I asked them back this year to do the front windows, doors, cills, soffits and various stone trims. Michael's expertise is evident in his careful preparatory work which is so important for producing the excellent finish which he provides . Michael is also easy to have around and I even got a bonus in the form of repainting the rather fiddly, metal front gates and rear French doors for which he did not charge extra. It is rare that I am so completely satisfied with the service I get and the house has never looked so good. This is a firm that I will be happy to recommend to friends and neighbours.

We have used Michael for all our decorating needs for 15 plus years. Yet again Michael has done a superb job in painting the outside of our 3 storey house. Attention to surface preparation was great and he was meticulous in getting the right finish and coverage. His working methodology is neat and tidy and he is completely trustworthy. All this for a fair price. He is also a genuinely nice guy- we were away overnight while he was working for us and he fed our cat. We have arranged for him come to paint our hall, stairs and landing later this year.

Michael has just finished the inside of our 3 bedroom house after major building work Nothing was too much trouble for him ,offering advice and recommending alternative solutions .He also completed some work which was not quoted for His work is of the highest standard He is reliable trustworthy and a lovely person He is coming back to paint the outside of the house in the near future We have recommended Michael to many of our friends

Aware that there is demand for good workmen so, I got organised, used Which? Trusted Trader and approached MJN for a quote in December 2021 for and full external rubdown and repainting of the whole of the outside of my house for the spring/ summer of 2022. After a few attempts at contact, I got a visit and a quote and I accepted the quote and was told that he should be good for April. It's now June, I've been trying for 4 months to contact MJN through email, text and phone on multiple occasions - allowing for Covid or illness I kept trying but not one of my messages has been responded to. Have to accept that he has let me down completely and I've probably missed my chance to get someone to do a good job in London now

MJN were recommended to me for some painting works inside my house. I was very impressed with the professionalism and care taken (particularly during lockdown) of all the work, from prep (which was thorough), to finish. So impressed, I asked MJN to do a second job painting the outside of my house. Great work. Very speedy, reliable, helpful and a genuinely lovely bloke. Traditional decorator - very hard to come by these days.

Looking at the reviews, I thought I would give Michael a try. We are selling a flat and it needed decorating, some of it I had already started with my wife. Michaels estimate was very reasonable. I let him into the flat the evening before he was due to start so he could unload his equipment, and he just got on with the work there and then. Michael loves his work and takes pride in doing a good job. He is not satisfied with good enough, it has to be as good as it can be. He even redid some of what I had already done, at no extra cost, to make sure it was up to his standard! Ceiling repairs look like new. Great job, definitely recommend.

It was lovely to know there are still professional decorators out there. MJN is one of a dying breed of old school, skilled painter & decorators out there and cares about doing a perfect job.. He's a funny character and LOVES tea. I have recommended him to all my friends. İ will only use MJN decorators, for any future jobs needed. Can't recommend them enough.

Michael decorated the outside of our house in October 21 (see my review posted 26/10/2021). On the basis of that work we asked Michael to decorate two double bedrooms for us. Again he gave us a competitive estimate and has just completed the work. As before we were impressed by the preparation and the quality of his work. He was very tidy, respected our property and again nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended.

First saw Michael when he was decorating the outside of a neighbour’s house. I was very impressed with the amount of preparation and care he was taking. Michael gave us a very reasonable estimate to decorate our house and took equal care in the work he undertook. He cleared up each day and nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend.

Michael did a great job for us. Friendly and helpful he painted our 2 bed house and did a really, fab job. Reliable, he kept appointments, arrived on time and left the place very clean and tidy. Overall he did a top notch job and our house is transformed into a clean, light and airy beautiful place. And all for a reasonable price.

More outstanding work from Michael, whom I've used on a number of occasions. Michael is a perfectionist who takes real pride in his work and doesn't cut corners. Easy to get hold of and easy to deal with, he is punctual, tidy, friendly and someone you can trust to do an excellent job at a very fair price. Also important is the fact that he maintains all the Covid protocols. A faultless service from beginning to end.

Excellent experience with Michael. His persistency with attention to detail is rare in the painting community. His work is efficient and high quality but will identify and correct without prompt. Good quality for a painter to have. Michael will also offer valuable opinions on colour schemes and will politely give advice on anything which is too ambitious. Michael is my go too person for all things painting and without hesitation I recommend.

MJN Decorators are a fantastic company. From beginning to end, my experience with them was superb. The quote was very competitive, and the quality of the work outstanding. Their eye for detail is particularly impressive, with their willingness to do more to ensure the finish is of the best standard. Would highly recommend.

MJN service was exceptional from start to finish, very professional. There was a lot of work to complete, everything was talked through with us and kept to the time scale to finish well before Christmas. The work was clean and tidy, everything cleared away at the end of the day. Could not fault the service MJN gave us and would fully recommend this tradesman.

We commissioned MJN for exterior render crack repairs and exterior painting. Once on the job the work was committed to wholly, and completed amidst the height of last year's 30-plus degree heat. Problems arising with window ledges from prior work (not MJN) during the task were tackled and even reattended to promptly after job completion cheerfully. The work has stood the test of time six months later and compared to prior workers, a much more thorough paint job was applied, for excellent value, on budget and on time. We were impressed by MJN's commitment to the task particularly in the oppressive heat, good communication, cheerful demeanour, and the obvious desire to do a job satisfactory to us as clients.

Over the summer, Michael did a brilliant job decorating my flat. His paintwork was great, he worked tidily and no touching up/ little jobs were too much. Would thoroughly recommend his decorating services!

Michael painted the exterior of our house including front door and garage doors over a two-week period at the end of May. He was extremely organised and got on with the job without any fuss. We asked MJN for a quote for redecorating a large living room in our old Victorian house, which had become a little 'tired' over the years, to say the least! Michael responded very quickly with a very reasonable quote - and as luck would have it was able to start work almost immediately. We were very impressed with the care and attention that Michael gave to the entire job - a lot of preparation was involved (not only the usual 'sanding down and making good' but also included rebuilding a small section of the bay window walls and skirting boards which were crumbling away). The final finish was well worth all the time he spent on the prep work - it looked fantastic.Michael was a pleasure to work with - easy going and very accommodating - nothing was too much trouble. He also kept to his original quote and timings - even though I'm sure more work was actually involved than we had first thought. We were really pleased with Michael's work - he is a true professional - and a real find. We would definitely recommend MJN.

We asked Michael to paint our main bedroom and kitchen/living room recently and are really pleased with the result and his professional service. He did a great job on both rooms, which have some fiddly areas, and he ensured that all the skirting boards and window ledges were appropriately painted too, in addition to painting over some embossed wallpaper perfectly and coping with my excessive use of silicon sealant around the uPVC windows! I would not hesitate to recommend him to friends and family and it was a pleasure to have him in our home.
