Neil installed our Viessmann boiler 7 years ago, replaced all the old radiators and plumbed replacement kitchen and bathrooms. It’s an old hard-to-reach third floor old town flat and he turned up on the date and time agreed, worked fast with zero nonsense and cleaned up as he went. Whole job was done in the time and to the price specified. Since then he’s serviced the system every year and attended to one component break-down, again fixed at the time and price agreed. In short, if you need a plumber in Edinburgh, and if you can book him, he’s first class.

I have been using Plumbfaster since 2017 when Neil fitted a new boiler in my flat. More recently, he sourced and fitted a new set of radiators for me. I have always been impressed by Neil's meticulous work and great attention to detail. He is efficient, clean and tidy and is always happy to explain what he is doing and why. Products that he has supplied have always been of high quality. Highly recommended.

I have had my Combination Boiler looked after annually by Plumbfaster since it was installed and highly recommend them for excellent and efficient service.

Have used Neil several times over the last 4 years. His quality of work and attention to details is excellent. His focus on completing the tasks ranging from new boiler installation to replacing various leaking and non functioning manual and motorised valves has been completely satisfactory.Despite his ever increasing workload, he will do his best to fit us in to his schedule. As recommended by my neighbour, Neil/Plumbfaster came out to assess a boiler fault on Monday and despite trying to fix the fault carefully via numerous fixes, phone calls and attempts... it was deemed more economical to renew it - it was 16+ years old and had been touch and go for a year. So, they ended up installing a new boiler by Friday, with no fuss. They were very busy all week but fitted me in and were extremely thorough and professional. They were reasonably priced too and with no hidden costs. I'll now be the one recommending them to all my other neighbours too!

Neil McKay at Plumbfaster fitted a new bathroom for me, including a bath, sink unit, toilet and steam shower. He also installed a flush fitting TV in the wall connected to Sonos ceiling speakers and two downlit wall recesses. I couldn’t be happier with the work completed by Neil and his team which consisted of plumbers, tilers, joiner, electrician, plasterer and painter. Neil managed the entire project and ensured the trades were on site exactly when they were needed and that everything was completed to Neil's high standard and on schedule. I must mention that his attention to detail is second to none and he discussed the install with me throughout so I always knew what was happening. He also came up with suggestions which ultimately made the finished bathroom better, for example changing the floor of the steam shower to a wet room floor instead of a shower tray. If any issues arose, Neil dealt with them competently; for example when the shower was initially tested there was hardly any water flowing. Neil took advice from Stuart Turner (existing Positive head pump manufacturer) and Hans Grohe and it turned out I had the wrong type of pump. Within 2 hours a new Negative head pump was bought and installed and the shower works perfectly. This is one of the biggest projects I have done and I am extremely happy it was Neil doing it as he is highly professional, approachable and extremely helpful. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a bathroom installation.

The new installation in August 2021 and service after one year were carried out entirely to our satisfaction and the boiler has been working perfectly since installation.

We were recommended to use Neil by bathroom supplier as we were looking to refurbish three bathrooms in one go. Neil and his team were fantastic from day one and exceed all of our expectations. Rarely do you come across tradesmen with such exacting standards as Neil. His attention to detail is second to none and over the ten weeks his team were with us, they did everything to time and design, consistently going the extra mile to ensure complete satisfaction. I would recommend Neil to anyone considering plumbing or bathroom works without a moments hesitation, he really is that good.

Neil has done an amazing job of transforming two small elderly bathrooms with multiple problems into two lovely spaces where everything works and looks great! Faced with a huge dry rot problem discovered on Day 1, he managed the whole restoration project for us, and we all managed to stay sane. He brought in a great team to sort the problems, and even though this had a knock-on effect on his own work schedule, he still stuck with us to do the second bathroom. We really valued Neil's extremely high standard of work and his advice about everything - design, tiles, showers, electrics, etc etc. We were very happy with his recommended retailers for bathrooms and tiles, and how they worked well together. His team are great, and after several weeks of polite, friendly and efficient men in and out of the house, it was weirdly quiet when they'd all gone! Finally, I think that managing these very awkward bathroom jobs with 4 of us working from home at the same time would try anyone's patience, but Neil and the team coped with us admirably. I will recommend him to everyone from now on.

Fitting a new shower and fixing basin taps. The team were friendly, professional and reliable. Communication was good throughout which particularly helped when decisions had to be made on the spot. Neil sourced the shower and taps that had to be replaced, and the total cost for the work was good value. I would definitely use Plumbfaster again and recommend them to others.

Neil flushed out my central heating system and did not leave a mess. It was potentially a messy job since the water in my central heating system was black! I was not able to stay while he worked and he sent me a video of the water coming from the flushed system and it was absolutely sparkling clean. Fantastic attention to detail, and not only that, he actually offered us an alternative for repairing our problem boiler when a fixed price repair would work out cheaper. I respect him and hope his business flourishes. *****

Neil and his team upgraded our central heating system by fitting a new boiler and radiators for us. They also undertook as a few jobs in our bathroom. We were given welcome advice both prior to the work starting and during it when necessary. Neil has an eye for detail and the standard of work was excellent. The team were all extremely polite and pleasant to have around. They took care to protect our carpets etc and did a good job tidying up after themselves. We’re delighted with the finished job and would happily recommend them.

Did an amazing and very thorough job on extremely short notice in the midst of lockdown, getting a new boiler installed in a day and leaving us with hot water again after another plumber fell through. Highly recommend Neil, he goes above and beyond every step of the way!

A very professional and competent installer. Despite the Covid -19 restrictions, after diagnosing that our existing boiler was not worth repairing because of its age and potential for further breakdowns, in a very short time he was able to source and install a new replacement. Neil gave a schedule to which he adhered. He displayed his expertise by discussing clearly his programme and despite some complications, was able to complete the task in one day. He exhibited a friendly and frank attitude at all stages of the installation which was neat and tidy. The clean up and disposal of old materials were excellent as was the quality of workmanship. His equipment and tools were comprehensive and of high quality. The cost of the work was both reasonable and good value.
