I rang Northern Remedials earlier in the week. A prompt response was given and visit made the same week. The reason for the contact was that we clearly thought that we had a damp-wall problem as a pile of magazines on a sandstone shelf up against an external wall, with cavity wall insulation, were extremely damp. Trevor called, arriving before the appointed time (fixed because he had a previous call to make), carried out visual observations inside and outside the house on the apparently affected wall, and tested them with specialist equipment for dampness, humidity, dew point. Nothing obviously serious was found, so discussion took place, considering the various readings taken, on what other possibilities than rising damp and external water penetration might be the cause. We felt that Trevor's approach was straightforward, systematic and direct, with good, understandable technical points clearly made. Very helpful and reassuring. No charge was made.

I contacted NRL following issues highlighted in a structural engineers report. Trevor could not have been more helpful advising me about the service that they provide and Xperia me they have with the issues highlighted. I emailed through some pictures and detail on the works and received a quick response. We were booked in for NRL to provide a quotation for works and had paid the reasonable fee but later decided to pull out of the purchase. I contacted them to advise that we no longer need the quotation and the fee was refunded to me on the same day. Couldn’t have asked for more and they were very friendly and polite.

Can’t praise this service highly enough. Quick and straightforward estimate completed then kept in touch during a prolonged house move. The work itself was completed almost immediately after moving in and Trevor and Paul went above and beyond to make sure the work was done to the highest standard. Made a potentially stressful job much easier and always with a smile on their face. If there were 6 stars I’d use them all.

I've used this company before, for a smaller job. I was happy with that and am even happier with the more recent, much bigger damp proofing job. The work was done on time, very professionally and with little mess, considering all the plaster that had to come off. Trevor pointed out what did NOT need to be done, which other companies may well have included and showed me things as the work was being done. I was given a good quote and, despite the fact that I asked for some extra work making the job a little bigger and more complex, we agreed a very reasonable, small addition to the price, which I was entirely happy with as it was my request. I am completely confident in this company and feel I can trust them completely.

After several failed damp proofing courses I found Northern Remedials. Trevor and Paul came to the rescue and were so helpful with solutions for a very old stone-built property. Work commenced with more age-related problems unearthed and resolved. The work was completed with skill and proficiency, cleaning up each day, always bright and cheery. Northern Remedials undertook a small job, replacing the damp proof course at the front of my property. Trevor, the boss, was lovely, gave me a very reasonable quote, and explained what was needed clearly. The work was booked and a few weeks later Trevor and his team turned up, did the work, cleaned everything away, left no mess and, my tenant says they were ‘completely delightful’. Yesterday, as promised, I received the guarantee. Thanks to you all and I can honestly, completely recommend the company. Not the cheapest but I have confidence they will be around if I ever need them again, and that is important.

Trevor was responsive from my first call and what seemed a daunting task was quickly followed up with a clear quotation and summary of work to be undertaken and its timescale. This involved significant cracking of internal walls that required "stitching", due it was revealed, to a construction fault when the house was originally built He responded to my request to carry out the wall repair urgently by working over the weekend and was fully backed up by his team, who despite further repair work being required when the wall was stripped, completed the total repair in 4 days. This is a professional company who take great pride in "doing it right" and really understand every aspect of the importance of customer satisfaction.

Northern Remedials recently completed damp proof work on our Church building. The workmanship is excellent and Trevor and Paul worked in the Church for 10 days, cleaning up every day which meant nothing was disrupted. I would highly recommend this company.

I can not fault the service, workmanship, friendly staff - from our initial visit, the detailed quote, start date information and regular updates throughout the job. Our Victorian end terrace house was in need of structural damp proofing, requiring years of plaster to be knocked off back to the stone work/brick work. This was a messy job, however room was always kept tidy and all rubble removed! All render and top coat plastering applied and has already made a difference to the room. Paul and Trevor have throughout the job gone the extra mile to ensure work was completed to high standard and this included the finishing off of the new fire place insert, helping to remove old flooring and much more. I would fully recommend this company and look forward to having them back to do our next big job in a couple of years.

Good job, cleaned up after each day, can’t fault the work. Highly recommend company. Would definitely recommend to others.
