A retrofit survey of my 1960s-built maisonette had recommended upgrading to A++ triple glazing as one of the most urgent and cost-effective improvements to reduce heat loss and increase energy efficiency. As I wanted to use an established local company with a good reputation, ideally owner-run & a Which? Trusted Trader, PS Home Improvements was my first choice, confirmed from my first contact with them. Paul, the engaging & experienced owner, responded promptly to my enquiry, visited soon after to survey - even releasing a jammed window handle which had left a bedroom window open during bitterly cold weather - & followed up with a quotation to replace all the windows and doors in my 3-storey property with triple glazing to my chosen specification. I opted to postpone any work on the ground floor entrance as my priorities were the 2 upper floors with the main accommodation. At my request the work was carried out in 2 stages, 1 floor at a time, to manage the disruption, but as you'd hope & expect, this was minimal & Paul provided good guidance about the preparation I should make. His 2 fitters were really cheerful, hard-working, experienced & people you'd happily have working in your home whether you were in or out. They kept me updated on progress, put down protective materials to cover flooring & furniture and cleared up as they went. The work was completed on time; the quality & workmanship is excellent & the entire experience was excellent throughout.

We spent considerable time researching windows, options and gaining an extensive number of quotes, which varied massively. We chose PS Home Improvements because the advice, options and explanations given were clear. Paul's approach was refreshing, it gave us all the information we needed, without bombarding us in highly technical language. I am very pleased with the work done to replace the back door to our garage. The whole job which included putting in a new door frame, and repairing some loose brickwork, was done very neatly. The new door, as well as being more secure, looks very smart. This is the second job that Paul and his team have done for us, and I am happy to recommend them

We had an old timber framed window that needed replacing. Paul was very helpful, and provided his quote quickly. It was a day’s work for two of his team to remove the old window, replace it with a new PVC one, and clear away all the rubbish. All very friendly guys. Very happy with the work done

Paul and his team did a wonderful job. I engaged with Paul on this work as he had previously done our front door about a year ago and that work was great so Paul was my first and only option to get the windows done. He came around for an initial viewing of the work required to give us an indicative quote and look at some options. We went back and forth for a while whilst we decided what windows we wanted and if we wanted to get our outside kitchen door done. Once we settled on what we wanted Paul came over and did the exact measurements and went away to get the windows made up. Once they were done we agreed a date to get them installed. The work was carried out professionally by Nathan and Callum with the minimum of fuss. We had all the windows in the house done so it did take four full days. One of the windows was wrong (manufacturer error) and Paul arranged for the new glass to be made up and installed. This took about a week to get sorted but it was no hassle for Paul at all. The quality of the work is great and we are seeing the benefits of the windows already. We are seeing far less usage on heating as the windows help the house to retain the heat and there are no air leaks into the house. And a big bonus is that the house was not left in a mess with bits and pieces of plastic and glass everywhere. Basically, they tidied up after themselves which cannot be said for a lot of tradespeople. I would definitely recommend Paul and team for your work.

PS Home improvements provided excellent professional and friendly service. We had a new composite front door installed. The work man who did the installations were polite, did a great job and cleared up each day they were here. The quote we received from Paul was received very quickly and we felt the price was reasonable. I have no hesitation in recommending them.

Replacement of 2 patio doors and garage window It was done to the agreed schedule and budget The trader was very efficient and helpful. Turned up when agreed to measure and did the work in the month we were expecting it to be done. The staff who did the work were very polite and hardworking. They cleaned up after the job very well. I have used this company before to replace my windows (10 years ago). This time, a new front door. Customer service from beginning to end is great. I have had a composite front door supplied and fitted by PS Home Improvements and I am really pleased with everything about my experience. I sought several quotes before choosing this company but it was an easy decision for me to choose them, their quote was very reasonable, approach was very personal - the director came over to my house to explain the process and my options, and they have a lot of very positive reviews and testimonials. I was kept informed all the way through the process. The door fitted is made by the company 'Solidor'. The fitting of the door seems to have been done to a high quality, the fitter paid close attention to detail. PS Home Improvements replaced our old wooden bifold doors with modern aluminium ones over two days. Terry and Nathan carried out the work in a professional, efficient, clean and tidy fashion, protecting surrounding areas and clearing up at the end of each day. We had a number of quotes to replace two patio doors and a window. Paul was very helpful in providing advice, and his quote was competitive and received quickly without needing to chase. Just had all my windows and doors (plus shed)replaced by this company who were recommended by a local building firm. So glad I followed their advice. All double glazed units and doors are of high spec ,could not believe the difference from our original units (over twenty four years old). Such a change to have windows and doors that shut and with no draughts! The fitters Jake and Simon were on the doorstep at eight o’clock every morning. Approximately 1-2 years ago PS Home Improvements (Southern) Ltd replaced my old wooden back door with a pvc door. I was so impressed with the professional attitude, price and work quality that when I need to replace the six casement windows I did not hesitate to ask them to quote for the work. The quote was very competitive and they clearly explain what worked needed doing. I must say they did not disappoint the quality of work was excellent, job was well done and within the agreed cost that was originally quoted. This company was recommended to me. I am over the moon with the price and the door itself. Beautiful. Arrived in the van with all new plastic and a protective frame from custom manufacturer. 2 fitters arrived with the door exactly as scheduled, laid sheets on carpet and even surrounding furniture. Removed all old frames and fitted the door to utter perfection. It was obvious they were extremely skilled and with probably decades of experienced collectively. Noise in my first floor road facing flat has reduced by 90%. Very precise workmanship. 10/10. thank you Paul and team!

We have just had a large conservatory built by PS Home Improvement, designed to be a form of Man Room for kids as they grow. The conservatory is good and large and was designed for max size. Have younger kids the guys working on the site were REALLY good at clearing afterwards to ensure no screws or sharp items left around for kids to stand on or damage themselves. The guys doing the work were also very polite, no concern of swearing or inappropriate behaviour, they felt like a family organisation, we were happy even to leave keys when we were not there. The ground work was done whilst we were on holiday and we were happy to leave them to it for 2 weeks and came back to a lot having been done. We were able to talk to the boss when required and communication was fast and efficient and so always part of the process. We pushed to get completed before Xmas and they were able to achieve this and so much of the season was spent in our new room which has given the house a new lease of life. The quality of windows, rook and floor has been high and the couple of snagging issues or allow for with any building work were responded to and resolved in quick efficient manor. We use PS Home Improvement on recommendation from someone we knew and are very happy with the outcome and happy to recommend to others. Happy to provide pictures to show the work.
