Higson’s Plumbing, Heating, Electrical & Air Conditioning commenced trading in 1930 serving the Altrincham and surrounding areas. We are now one of the oldest companies in the area.
We are a Worcester Bosch Accredited Installation company and can offer a free twelve year manufactures guarantee.
Since October 2023 we also have an Electrical & Air Conditioning division.
As we are FCA registered company we can offer 0% finance up to 2 years and 10.9% up to ten years.

Peter Higson's ‘crew’ have worked solidly for 3 weeks to deliver me a fabulous bathroom. The men were extremely polite and amazingly cheerful all the time. It was obvious that they are a bonded group who work together really well. They are prompt and very trustworthy. The work carried out is of the highest standard. I was consulted regularly when they had to make decisions- such as the position of door handles. I would highly recommend this company.

I have used this family firm over many years and have always been pleased with the standard of work, the professional attitude of the team, their helpfulness and trustworthiness. This job entailed the rewiring of my house, the removal of a gas fire and the fitting of an electric fire in its place. I was kept informed of progress throughout the whole process and appointments were kept. When the work was finished, the house was left clean and tidy, all rubbish was removed and any snags were dealt with immediately. This may not be the cheapest firm you could find, but it is well worth the money for excellent work, peace of mind that any problems will be dealt with promptly and efficiently, and, most importantly, for the knowledge that this firm can be left to do an honest job in my absence. I can recommend them wholeheartedly.

The customer service from Peter Higson & Co. was second to none. What a lovely company to do business with. The old boiler I inherited at the beginning of Feb after moving into my new house stopped working completely. I called Peter Higson on Monday morning.A survey was completed at lunch time. I received my quote mid afternoon and the work commenced two days later. Peter’s team of engineers were a delight to have in the house… arriving on time, friendly, polite & extremely professional. James, Jack, Ben & Andy all worked very hard to get the house warm again as soon as possible by replacing the old boiler & pipe work. I am absolutely delighted to have found this company & will most definitely recommend them to family, friends & neighbours. Peter and his team understood fully the issue with our old boiler and provided clear alternatives. We opted for the boiler replacement. His team arrived on time, carried out the work efficiently and with minimal disruption. As the installation was going to take 2 days they ensured that we had heat and hot water at the end of the first day. They explained how this new boiler operated along with its new thermostat. After installing, an issue arose with an existing flow value which Peter got his team to address and replace. Very friendly installers and I would recommend them to others.

We had a full house rewire and lots of plastering to cover artexed and wallpapered ceilings. It was completed to the agreed schedule and budget and the price we agreed was the price we paid. Carpet protectors were used throughout the house and the team cleaned up every night. They moved furniture where necessary. The team were very friendly, helpful and cheerful. They offered advice and suggestions as they went along. They had a 'can do' attitude and were very professional. We were fully informed at all stages and any questions we had were answered informatively and patiently. We would highly recommend Peter Higson and Co Ltd and we are very happy with the quality of the work they have done.

As part of a "re-imagination" of our living room we required an old horizontal radiator replacing with an upright model. First impressions were really positive. Their initial communication was prompt, and our questions and change requests were handled without delay, and a quotation arrived promptly. The staff who installed the radiator were very amicable, checking at each stage things were being done correctly. They did have a minor issue with airlocks but these are always a problem with our system and they sorted it efficiently and professionally.

Pete and his team were efficient, helpful and friendly. I have an unusually shaped, large bungalow, designed and built by my parents, so not an easy job for the team. If they hit a problem I was reassured that they would solve it and they did. They gave me peace of mind and made the project exciting rather than stressful. They were honest and trustworthy. On 2nd September 2025 Peter Higson & Co Ltd replaced our old boiler with a new Wocester Bosch boiler. We were satisfied with the quotation , the work was completed in less than a day. We are satisfied with the installation and the quality of work. The engineers were very helpful, polite and did an excellent job. Over two weeks later we had a leak from the cistern of the toilet in the bathroom ( unrelated to the boiler replacement ) , Peter Higson came to the rescue and replaced the cistern. We are very grateful for the fast response and the work done. I can highly recommend this company.
