Priory Plumbing & Heating

We have a heating system with some ancient parts (probably from the 1950s) and some new parts (underfloor heating). I wanted some modifications to make the system work better, and some repairs were needed. Most plumbers I contacted took one look at the job and wouldn't touch it, so it was a relief to find Stephen at Priory Plumbing & Heating. He understood what I wanted and tackled it, and all the problems, with a positive can-do attitude. An experienced and professional plumber who is fully qualified and happy to tackle difficult problems, and a lovely person too, what more could you want?

We engaged with Priory Plumbing and heating to replace our gas boiler. Overall the work has been very professionally completed. Discussions and communications were always clear, open and straightforward. The work done was to plan and on time, and any issues were dealt with, as required, with no surprises. All together a very satisfying experience with a thoughtful and pleasant installation engineer.

Stephen from Priory Plumbing been maintaining the central heating systems for my house and my parents’ house over 15+ years on various jobs big or small, installation of 3 boilers, annual services and leaks. Stephen from Priory Plumbing and Heating came to install our new boiler and right from the start I could tell we were going to get a quality installation. He arived on time and was polite and well presented. The work was carried out to the highest standard and competetively priced too. Priory Plumbing was recommended to us as an efficient, reliable and professional contractor. We found Stephen to be all the above. He visited us, measured up and gave us a price and a start date. He had warned us it might take longer than he hoped and the job did run to 1.5 days. He was a pleasure to have in our home and we would employ him again. There was in issue with damage to a radiator cover. We paid him in full on presentation of the invoice, and he kept us updated on the replacement part and returned when requested to finish the job. An excellent service. He was at all times, approachable, positive, knowledgeable and keen to help.

New boiler installation and three new radiators fitted - Stephen came to quote for the job and a date was agreed. He kept me updated, came when promised and I have absolutely no complaints about the job or service provided - he was always helpful and professional. As a bonus, work was carried out with a smile! Highly recommended.

I had ongoing issues with my mum’s boiler for over 6 months. She’d had engineers from her insurance company to attend but they’d not fixed the issue nor looked like doing so. We only wished we’d contacted Stephen first. He gave us options and we decided to have a new boiler installed. He booked it in, communicated with us throughout and started the job when he said he would. Stephen and his team were great - came out quickly when asked for a quote, did the job in a good time frame, worked quickly, cleanly and quietly (I was working in the house atm and barely heard a sound). I would definitely recommend.

Stephen and Adam were a good team, arriving on time and working hard in spite of the heatwave. I appreciated the care they took to protect my furnishings as this is a house where shoes are not worn indoors. The work was completed within the timescale Stephen predicted in spite of those unforeseen things that occur once the work is underway and the boiler is over thirty years old. I asked Stephen what did he do when such things happen? His reply was “work harder”. Says it all really. I felt Stephen was confident in his ability and knowledge to complete the work required and look forward to warm winters free of worry.

I had used Priory Plumbing & Heating before. Their emails are helpful and friendly. I had a number of small jobs to do this time. They arranged a time and came at the right time. They are polite and friendly and willing. I was very satisfied with their work fitting new taps in the kitchen and bathroom, replacing a WC and discovering what the noises in the water system were. These were duly sorted out and all is quiet now. I asked various other plumbing/water queries that I had and they diagnosed and explained these carefully and patiently. I feel that their charges are competitive and fair. I am very pleased with their work and manner. I shall definitely use them again and recommend them around Macclesfield.

From the quote to completion of work, Steph and Adam were invaluable. To a novice like me , Steph advised and the quality of their work was so professional and outstanding. Totally respectful, they laid down dust sheets, and it was a joy to hear Steph singing and how happy he was as he worked. Steph and Adam both worked extremely hard, were punctual and tidy , and the cost was extremely reasonable. We were apprehensive about having this work done due to the possibility of spillages, leakages, small redecorating touch up jobs or patching up of carpets around the new pipework area but had no need to worry as Stephen and Adam did an excellent job for us. The work was carried out within the specified time frame and to budget. Priory Plumbing have also carried out a boiler service for us in the last few months.

Responded very quickly to deal with a leak. Water dripping through ceiling of second storey. Very polite and efficient.

Stephen came over to address the leak examining the possible causes . As it was a new build home ( only 2 .5 years) access into the bathroom units would have required removing tiles as the builders had left no access points for leaky pipes . He managed to get to the pipes without cracking a tile which I really appreciatedbu removing a bath panel . Fault was the hot water cylinder valve and an Untightened pipe . So all sorted . Stephen came and identified the problem almost instantly. The part was then ordered and fitted a day later. Lovely person and I will use him again for anything else we need.

Had a new boiler installed and from initial quote to installation communication and service was excellent. Work was carried out with minimal disruption to me and the house. Stephen and Adam were really professional and really helpful. They were respectful of my property laying sheets down through the areas they would be in and even taking shoes off when going around the house. Every where was cleaned up after the job and all rubbish removed. Everything was explained to me and even the warranty was filled in and sent off before they left. We recently had a new boiler installed and pipework moved and I couldn't be happier with the work and level of service, I would 100% recommend. We will certainly be getting them back for the remaining work needed on our house renovation.

Steph and his apprentice lad decommissioned a gas fire for us. the price was good, the work was done to a high standard (very clean!) and all done with a ditty or two from Jukebox Steph. Wouldn't hesitate to contact for any future work we have.

Steve and his lad came to fit a new boiler in December 2021. Contact with Steve was excellent; they were prompt, efficient, clean and tidy and most helpful. Absolutely no-nonsense, and thoroughly professional. All compliance paperwork was provided. Am so thrilled to have found them and will continue to use them in the future. Cannot recommend them highly enough.

Ask Steve to come round to price and fix a couple of radiators and reposition some too. If like me you suffer anxiety from having tradesmen in due to been let down in the past Steve and his apprentice are good clean workers. Get the job done and out. Should I need any work done in the future I’ll be contacting Steve first.

Using the Which? Trusted Traders website, I contacted Stephen Leitch of Priory Plumbing and Heating with a domestic gas boiler service request. A prompt reply was received with price confirmation and availability to complete job next day! Very impressed with skill and knowledge demonstrated and the comprehensive service given to my domestic gas boiler. Highly recommended.

Stephen and trainee Adam have completed the job of installing a new boiler and completely replacing all the pipework to the existing radiators. All work was carried out to high standard and they were meticulous in restoring all floorboards, carpets , fittings etc. Would not hesitate to recommend after a very professional job.

I needed new radiators and pipework throughout my house and I was absolutely dreading having to get this massive job done. Needn’t have worried because what a brilliant job Priory Plumbing / Steph and Adam did. They were highly recommended to me by other family members who use Priory Plumbing all the time. Steph came round to measure up/price the job and he explained what the job would entail. He provided me with a written quote. Furniture, carpets and floorboards had to be moved/taken up and the pipework had to come down the walls, but this was all neatly boxed in by Steph. Every day they worked so hard to ensure that the job was completed within the timescale. I found Steph and Adam to be very friendly and happy in their work. They were clean workers using their own dust sheets and tidying up after themselves at night. Nothing was too much trouble for them and Steph even fixed my kettle. Steph also called round after he had finished the job to ensure I was happy with everything and that the radiator system was working as it should. What a lovely surprise I had when I walked in on the last day to see that Steph and Adam had put all the heavy furniture back for me, relayed the carpets and floorboards and actually hoovered throughout the house. I would definitely use Priory Plumbing again in the future and I have already recommended them to my family and friends.
