Pro Care is Gas Safe registered and proud Worcester Bosch accredited installers. We offer fully insured gas, plumbing, heating, electrical and building services. We operate a 24 Hour Emergency Call Out service for boilers, central heating systems and plumbing.

We worked with PROCARE when our first boiler broke down, they came on short notice in middle of winter and sorted it out. When moving to new house, we commissioned again to do our boiler, pipework and bathroom refurb - it has been great, you can clearly see the attention to detail and care they put in their work. It is my go to company for any issues related to gas & pipework, they do our boiler service every year and not even a hiccup. Trusted and reliable - they are great!

replacing water pipes

The team came to replace our water pipes following a leak last winter . I chose them as they were recommended by Thames Water and had a mole. They talked through the plan of action first and kept me informed throughout the process . They were all very hard working , polite, friendly, helpful and thoughtful.

Boiler broke after service with a cost more than £600

We hired Pro Care to do a Boiler and Cylinder service before the winter. Our boiler was working well and there was not a major issue. Their engineer came and stated that we need a full and big service to change some parts as we have not had that for the past five years, he also suggested that there is a part on the cylinder that needs to be changed. Our charge was more than £600. A week later the boiler started to give us (EA error message ignition is not recognised) and the boiler started to fail to turn off. We thought it was a glitch. Then this error started to appear again at least twice a week. I called them again and sent them a video to have a look. Their office said that our parts are under warranty and that we should not be worried. They sent the engineer again. The engineer came out again and said it is not his fault and he can only think of changing the FAN now and it can cost us more than £500 and he wanted to charge us for the hour. We challenged him and said that our boiler was working fine before he did the service and did not give us any errors. We enquired cost of a new boiler instead as we thought that this is going to be very costly. Pro care gave us a quote of more than £3,000 for the new boiler and less warranty. Worcester Bosch gave 12 years on the particular boiler that we chose and they only gave us 10 years in their offer. We had to seek a second opinion and found that much of what happened could have been avoided.

We write in response to this review. The Worcester Bosch system Boiler had not been serviced for over 5 years, and in our experience the boiler can accumulate various different faults. On 1st September 2022 we serviced the boiler and cylinder as requested by the customer. We had to stop the service after an hour realising it would require further servicing and cleaning. We returned the next day to do this, including installing servicing parts. We had to spend additional time servicing and repairing this heating system, due to the lack of previous servicing. Consequently, this resulted in a high repair cost. Although the fan was operating, it was under performing so we recommended renewing the fan. This attracts additional cost, so the client asked for a quote for a new boiler. We offered to send a senior engineer for a second opinion, free of charge to consult with the customer. We made a booking with the customer, but they cancelled that appointment and we have made attempts since to rebook it and have been unsuccessful.

Ever since Pro Care installed a Worcester Bosch boiler in my son's tenented flat in January 2015 I have very much relied on them to service this unit on an annual basis. Needless to say the boiler has functioned 100% during this time. They have also provided a Gas Safety Certificate on an annual basis and I must admit I do feel comfortable knowing that I can rely on them wholeheartedly to attend on a timely basis and complete the jobs most satisfactorily. I have used them on other plumbing & electrical jobs and wouldn't hesitate in recommending.

Fixing kitchen drawer
Pro-Care agreed to come out for a small job to fix our kitchen drawer but pulled out at the last minute stating that they could not do so. As kitchen fitters I find this inexplicable on their behalf. Companies are simply not interested in small jobs but they are very necessary for the maintenance and upkeep of our homes. I appreciate it is a long way to come but I still feel let down.

New water pipe

My old lead water pipe needed replacement with a plastic one due to a leak. I chose Pro Care because they are recommended by Thames Water and can use the moling technique to run the new pipe under my drive and concreted back garden (total run of 26 metres) without digging up the whole drive. After a missed appointment for the initial assessment, I still decided to use them because few companies do such moling. They started on the Monday morning and worked through some very wet weather to complete this major task by the Thursday. The team was friendly, courteous and would carry out any suggestions that I made willingly. The boss, Nigel, was very hot on quality watching the team at work, picking up on any issues before me. Most rubble and other rubbish was removed from site by them on the Thursday and the heavy hired equipment was finally removed from site on the following Monday. I was given a completion certificate confirming the quality of the work to show to Thames Water. I am very pleased that I continued to use this company and not drop them after the missed first appointment.

This is the second year I have used Pro Care to service and repair the boiler in our depot. The same engineer as last year came. Was very polite, knowledgeable kept me informed of what needed doing. Had to order a part and came back at a prearranged date to fit. Excellent work.

Very satisfied with boiler service

Pro-Care's engineer (Phoenix) arrived on time to perform the boiler service. He was courteous, professional and conscientious. He discovered a problem with build up of metal fragments in the inlet valve to the boiler (from the old cast-iron main supply in our street) and, by clearing it, significantly improved the supply of gas arriving at the boiler and therefore improving its efficiency. We felt great confidence in the work that was done and will use Pro-Care (and Phoenix!) in the future. It is very re-assuring to know that this company is available locally.

Hot Water System Problems

Pro Care attended as planned after two other plumbers/heating engineers I had tried to book, didn't even respond. He was very affable, polite, just got on with the job whilst taking time initially to analyse and explain to me what needed doing to resolve the issues and why.. They improved my understanding of how our fairly complex system worked and he gave me confidence that he knew 'his stuff', far more so than other plumbers I have had working on and off over the last few years! Will certainly call Pro Care first if I have any plumbing and heating issues in future..

We have been working with Nigel & Team for years, and will not hesitate for a minute to ring him back. Key point is attention to detail, very very thorough on thinking the best way to carry on the job. In a country where no two houses are ever the same, this skill is a massive plus to make the job efficiency and to last for many years. Nigel has a fantastic positive attitude, nothing is a problem to do and achieve, no matter what. Nigel & Team work very hard and will not stop or leave until the job is done and we are happy with the final product. Nigel has done two boilers, bathroom, 2 kitchens, full plumbing replacement, and much more to fit in this review, along with large job in my family's houses, and we are all extremely happy with the results. Proof to that is that we have not had to call Nigel back to fix, repair or replace something he or his team have done. Thank you Nigel!
