A complete house refurbishment/rebuild of a 4 bedroom house.

We instructed Michael to carry out a refit for our daughter's bedroom. This included bespoke fitted wardrobe and desk furniture, full painting and making good a rotten sash window. Michael also recommended and managed the carpet fitters and electrician who fitted several new electrical points. We are delighted with the quality of the workmanship. We have used Michael for several projects, (bathroom fitting, decorating, landscaping, carpentry) both in our home and in rental properties. Whether the job be big or small, Michael completes these efficiently, without fuss and most importantly, always on budget! I'm not sure what we would have done without him. I can whole heartedly recommend him.

I purchased a new house which required a full refurbishment including a new kitchen, two new bathrooms, new plumbing including a new boiler, new electrics, new flooring and carpets throughout, a full redecoration of each room, changing the height and installing a new window in the bathroom. It was for me the biggest project I had undertaken. I had used Michael before to refurbish my flat and his results were excellent so I did not hesitate to contact him. I have a demanding job so needed a reliable and trustworthy contractor who could present me with clear options when needed and also take the burden off me by making some decisions on my behalf. Michael has an unrivalled attention to detail and this starts with his quotation process he is candid and transparent from the start. He gave me options to suit my budget and often great advice which meant I spent less on certain items allowing me to spend more on the items that really mattered to me like the kitchen. Once we agreed a price he stuck to it the only changes were down to me changing specifications. One of the benefits of using Michael and Protea Refurbishment Ltd is he is just extremely reliable he started when he said he would and turned up when he said he would. I didn't have to constantly check on the project he cracks on and kept me updated throughout. Michael essentially project manages everything liaising with all of the other trades, ensuring items were purchased and delivered to site on time. This he did alongside actually getting the job done. When it came to making decisions I relied heavily on Michael's design ideas I considered hiring a designer but it became clear very quickly that I didn't need to with Michael's support I was able to work out what I wanted. As I said Michael's attention to detail is his biggest asset he picked up on things I didn't notice and became even more invested in things being perfect than I was. The project was delivered on time and on budget. I love the results and I am so glad I used Michael. On such a big project it is critical that you are working with someone you trust but also that you like. Michael made the project easy and stress free we also had a laugh along the way. I would not only use him again he is the only contractor I will call and if he is not available I will wait until he is.
