Commissioned Radar Roofing from a friends recommendation. Initially very prompt in supplying a quote, which was very reasonable. All works carried out to a high standard and nothing was too trouble. Very friendly. Conscientious. Fully up front with schedule of work. Reliable and prompt. Have asked for further quote on other work.

Would highly recommend Radar Roofing. Extremely pleased with the work Ray & Sam carried out replacing our hanging tile with concrete Hardi board cladding. They were always punctual, very tidy and polite. Wouldn’t hesitate to get them back if we need any more work done.

Ray and his partner did a really good job on a leak I had in my chimley, also did some re-pointing work and advised on the general state of my flat roof, without trying to get me to spend. Ray is a delight to work with, booked in to replace the guttering to the rear of a property in Maidstone in June 2020. Easy to get hold of, responsive, turned up when he said he would for the inspection, the work itself and popped back the next day to resolve a tiny snagging issue. I had a 30m2 flat roof replaced with EPDM rubber and I am delighted with the result. The EPDM and the edging looks so much better than the old felt roof. It was completed before all the exceptional rain in February and it performed perfectly. Ray and Alfie were punctual, polite, removed the old roof and left no mess when they had finished. They also replaced a few roof tiles that were not part of the job for free! I would not hesitate in recommending them or using them for further work.

The job consisted of replacing the vertical concrete tiles front and rear and inserting Insulation behind the new tiles; creating a new Head Shield Polycarbonate Roof to our Patio with sufficient pitch and replacing a Fibreglass flat roof with a pitched Fibreglass flat roof with additional insulation. These redesigned roofs clearly required adjustment of the gutters. Separate quotations were created and for clarity Radar Roofing verbally confirmed that jointly all the relevant drainage would be adjusted to fit their new design. The vertical tiling aspect appears to be neat; it replaced an absolutely dreadful attempt by a roofer who has since been de-listed by Check-a Trade. The previous Flat Roof was also absolutely dreadful. The original Flat Roof was constructed in the 1980’s and had exceeded its 25-year guarantee. Unfortunately, the pitched flat roof was built with a flat puddle area. This is not complaint with Building Regulations. We have tried to resolve this matter with the Company and also problems with the joints on the Polycarbonate Roof, to no avail. We are pensioners aged 75 and 85 respectively. In December 2020 our cleaning lady noticed the wallpaper was wet, and an able-bodied relative traced this to the location where the roof meets the house wall. As this was urgent and we had no response to previous complaints we called out another roofer. This Company found out that bathroom type sealant had been used instead of the appropriate material, so a joint that could had lasted over ten if not twenty years had failed in just over two years. Radar Roofing’s 10-year insurance-based guarantee does not cover faults where another Company has rectified the fault, but in this case, this represents an unfair contract as Radar Roofing as Judge and Jury in the matter. This matter is alternatively negligence which is not coverable by a guarantee of this type. The construction of a roof with a puddle area is non-complaint with the regulation requiring a minimum of 1:80 Pitch (generally achieved with a 1:40 Pitch) and is also negligent What is most alarming is that Radar Roofing argue that they were entitled to replace the roof with one with a puddle because the previous roof, by the de-listed roofer, was non-compliant. There’s no place for schoolboy type excuses which disadvantages any customer, let alone very elderly customers, so we recommend that this roofer is not engaged.

Ray and Alfie have just finished doing some roofing work for me and I am absolutely happy with the work and the team. They were punctual, informative and friendly. They tidied up and left the place spotless after each days work. They bought guttering and PVC and didn't charge anything extra. Alfie fixed a small shed roof for me as an extra, as well. I noticed belatedly a slate had fallen off my roof. Ray pointed out it was two slates. The repair could have been a lot more expensive with scaffolding, but he tried it with a long ladder he had just acquired, and was successful. He saved me a lot of money because in seeing what needed to be done, he also took into account my needs. I was very impressed by his professionalism (he arrived on time to survey and notified me of changes); the repair was quickly done; and in discussion he conveyed to me, pleasantly and effectively, the issues involved. As a consequence, I trust his expertise, and will use him again.

I have now used Ray Cross on 3 occasions. He makes and appointment and keeps it. He give you a price and sticks to it, unless of course time has gone by and prices changed, but his work is of the highest standard. He leave the site tidy as if he had never been. I found him on trusted traders and he has proved just that. On top of all that he is a nice chap as well.
