Ryan and team worked on our main bedroom and box room damper-proofing and plastering. The interaction from start to finish was superb; Ryan was very knowledgable and talked us through each step and the reasoning behind what work needed to be done. He sent the quote very quickly afterwards and an approximate due date to start the work. We were kept informed of any changes and the prep we needed to complete before work started. When the work was being done, Ryan sent us daily updates which was great as we were away on holiday. The work was completed swiftly and to a brilliant standard. We'd had a DPC injected to a wall in our home by a national company 2 years ago but saw that the damp area hadn't dried out. The company advised that plaster removal & installation of a membrane was required. I wasn't happy with the company so I looked elsewhere to have the job completed. I found RB Plastering & Damp Proofing through 'Which Trusted Trader' & after reading all of the 5* reviews sent an email explaining my situation. Ryan called me within an hour & within days came to assess the job explaining in detail what he would do. He followed up with a detailed quote by email & said he could do the work the following week. We didn't seek a 2nd quote from elsewhere because Ryan impressed us. He was very professional knowledgeable & friendly & the price was reasonable. Ryan & his men arrived as arranged & got to work immediately. It was a messy job but he had advised us how best to prepare for it including taking our dog out while the noisiest part of the job was going on. He showed us the membrane prior to plastering & explained how it worked & how it would dry out. They were quick & efficient & cleaned up the mess very well. The skirting was installed the next day finishing the job beautifully. Invoice & guarantee followed by email. Our only regret was that we'd not found Ryan originally. We thought using a large national company was the obvious choice but it was a mistake on this occasion. We have no hesitation in recommending RB Plastering & Damp Proofing

From the moment Ryan came to view our bedroom with its damp wall and ceiling with falling salts onto the floor, it became quite clear that Ryan was head and shoulders above the rest. Our plasterwork between the wall and ceiling was complicated by the fact that the house still has the original plaster coving in place. Ryan looked at the situation in the room very carefully and considered every possibility before he very professionally suggested a retrieval plan. Ryan is professional in every sense of the word. He is extremely knowledgeable and very experienced.. Absolutely everything was discussed with us beforehand and agreements reached. Ryan outlined everything in his very reasonable and detailed quote. Dates were suggested arranged and adhered to. The team of two were polite, friendly, businesslike, committed and very hardworking. Our queries were always answered politely and everything explained. Our home was totally respected and despite extensive work there was never any undue mess ever. Nothing was too much trouble. What delightful people they were to deal with. We were almost sorry to see them go. We now have a guest bedroom we can be proud of with the assurance of a contractor’s guarantee, and we know that we can contact them at any time if we have any queries. Despite several unforeseen complications the original quote was totally adhered to. This company is outstanding! We unreservedly recommend them.

Had Ryan recommended to me through family and he was fantastic throughout, he even picked up the job after the sale fell through on an initial property I'd had him look at. Work was sorted out as soon as he could get access to the property, and he sourced additional contractors as soon as I found and tried to get other work carried out during the same period. He managed to sort out quite serious patches of damp throughout the property over just a few days and I'm really happy with the end result. Clear comms throughout and I really appreciated the updates he provided over the days he worked, making sure I understood what was being done and why. Can't recommend him highly enough, he was honest with the price - reducing it when changes to dimensions were identified - and he made the whole process of moving to a property that required quite intensive work as easy as it can be.

I can not praise Ryan and John enough. My initial call was unanswered but Ryan rang back within 10 minutes and arranged to come and see what we needed. Ryan arrived, checked the damp spots and explained how it had got there and what the remedy would be. He then sent me the quote within a day which I accepted straight away. They worked quickly and efficiently trying to cut the mess to a minimum and removing everything as they finished each day. Ryan explained all the processes involved clearly and in a way I could understand. Their workmanship was excellent and quickly finished, with the carpenter (who was also excellent) finishing off the same day. I would recommend this company to anybody who asks as they are extremely professional and well worth the price quoted.

Ryan and his team did an excellent job for us. He diagnosed the problem and provided clear information on the treatment required. He also explained the issues they don't deal with and suggested an alternative. They carried out the work exactly as specified in the quote. Ryan and his team arrived on time and did an excellent job on a ground floor bedroom, which is partly underground. The main wall was tanked 30 years ago, but the tanking had now failed and had spread to an adjacent wall with an electric socket. Ryan replaced the socket as well a proofing both walls and also had all the skirting boards replaced by his joiner. The standard of the plastering work and skirting is excellent. The whole thing was completed in two and a half days and all rubbish was removed. Overall we were very impressed.

Having decided to finally a tackle a damp problem affecting the top of an internal chimney breast and adjoining walls, I contacted Ryan to request an inspection/assessment of the problem. Ryan's knowledge of the potential causes of the problem was immediately impressive and assuring, and a date was agreed for Ryan to visit my property and assess the issue. Ryan arrived on the date and time agreed and gave a detailed assessment of the cause of the problem and thorough explanation of what the remedial work would involve. Ryan subsequently sent me over a detailed quote for the work which was excellent. A start date was agreed, and Ryan and his team arrived to begin work on the date and time as expected. Throughout the work, Ryan kept me fully informed of their progress and what the next steps would involve which was really helpful. Ryan and his team worked incredibly hard and the job was completed in the planned timeframe, including the the visit of a joiner to complete the job, which Ryan organised. I'm really pleased with the finish, the standard of the work is first class and I can't thank Ryan and his team enough for helping me resolve a problem that had been affecting my property for some time. I can't recommend highly enough.

Ryan came to have a look at the damp proofing in my house after another company had done some repairs. Although he had bad news for me, his advice was very helpful. I was away whilst he and his team were working, but I felt very informed as he'd send videos of the progress every day. The plastering is nice and smooth, and everything has been sealed and finished nicely.

An excellent job was done and all left clean and tidy. Couldn’t have been more pleased. But what really stood out was how they solved problems. This to me is the measure between a good company and an outstanding one. ! On their first visit after knocking all the plaster off etc, they discovered I had two door architraves, the joiner who was coming later had to be delayed whilst they sorted this . To cut a long story short this meant they had to stop work on a job they had only expected to last one day, and they were fully booked up. To overcome this they asked if they could come on a Sunday. Ryan visited one of my rental properties to give me his opinion on whether damp treatment was required, following me already having had work done on my other rental property just next door. Ryan provided me with a detailed explanation on why my second property didn’t need treatment and also why it was unnecessary that it was done in the first. His advice saved me shelling out a further £3000 which was very much appreciated, as was the detailed explanation. No question was too much trouble. I would definitely call on Ryan again for any future damp queries / work.

We had the team out to do our damp proof, in a property that we had just purchased. They arrived when he said he would to quote. Explained what was needed and why and also helped with preventing damp in the future. We received the quote when he said we would and he started the work when he said he would. The lads were so friendly polite and professional. They kept us updated throughout the work and also gave us further advise which we then went on to do. When they finished every day they tidied up which we didn’t expect as it was an empty house. They took pride in their work and the work was done to an exceptional standard. After needing some emergency work done to a gable wall Ryan & his team sorted this at short notice. The level of service & communication was exceptional & second to none. The quality of the work was of the highest standard. Absolutely fantastic company. Highly recommended!

We bought a house with some damp issues downstairs. Ryan came and diagnosed the problem immediately. Explained what was required and came back with a quote within a day. Work was completed to an excellent standard, and made for easy decoration afterwards. Provided all the paperwork on receipt of payment and we've had no damp problems since. He came back later in the year to install some ventilation to the upstairs bedrooms. He managed to fit us in to his tight schedule and worked into the night to get it done. Ryan was extremely reliable as he turned up as he said he would both for the quote and when he started work. Ryan was able to clearly explain what the work involved and cause of the damp issues. I felt he was trustworthy because he kept me informed of any changes as they arose including the bonus of being able to keep the skirting board. Ryan and his team were well prepared on the day and although the nature of the work means it is very dusty, they did a very good job of cleaning/tidying up after they had finished. Ryan came to my house to quote for a damp patch repair. He assessed the damage and gave me advice and options which included just doing decorative repairs.
