Ryan was recommended to sort out damp and plaster problems, by a friend, he did similar work for her, he turned up to work bang on time. Was a clean and pleasant worker. We are very pleased with him and his workforce. And would recommend him to friends.

Project: Replacement of joists, timber floor, damp proofing, plastering work to walls with new external ventilation in a Victorian mid terraced house. From the initial detailed assessment of the work required Ryan was thorough in keeping us accurately and well informed of progress throughout the work programme to completion of the project. An example of his attention to detail was the daily photographic report we received. Every communication from us received a prompt, courteous and informative reply with all associated project documentation received in a timely manner. Ryan and his team did a fantastic job with damp proofing my dining room and kitchen, replacing the joists and floorboards and replastering the walls. When Ryan realised that the job was bigger than first estimated (a skip was needed to clear what was under the old floorboards!), he quickly rang me to discuss what needed to be done next. Ryan and the team were first class right from the start to the end (damp survey, and recommendations, proposed works and delivery) . The project was large and they delivered on time and with great results. All the more amazing as this was done with COVID considerations through out. I found Ryan (RB Plastering and Damp-Proofing) via Which? Trusted Traders and asked him to undertake an inspection at my mum's house in Prestwich (Manchester), following a sale falling through due to concerns raised in a buyer's survey. It was a tricky job as I was expecting a lot to need doing, and we couldn't meet in person as the house is currently vacant and I'm helping to sort this out from Sheffield (where I live). At the time of inspection the covid stay at home order was still in effect. His inspection report was clear and his quote for undertaking damp proofing and timber repairs was competitive, hence we were happy to instruct him to undertake the repairs a month later. Ryan completed the work over 5-6 days. Because the house was vacant, Ryan sent numerous photos each day so we could see the progress. He also called to discuss any decisions that might need making around how/whether to move shelving or the fireplace etc. Ryan was professional throughout the inspection and subsequent works. Always calling my mum or me to talk through his findings, what works necessary and what was 'good to have but not urgent'. His customer service was excellent and works completed to a high standard. I would definitely recommend Ryan for similar works in future.

I contacted Ryan at RB Plastering & Damp-Proofing Ltd after I had a problem with a gas fire installation. The surround had detached from the wall and the company that fitted it blamed the issue on damp, I had had 3 wildly differing estimations from local damp proofing businesses ranging up to £3,500 plus £1,250 the fireplace centre wanted to charge to refit. Ryan visited my home to survey the issue and immediately pointed out that damp was not the cause and the surround had come away from the wall due to a poor standard of installation. This helped me to build a case and now the fireplace centre have agreed to refit, properly and safely without charge. I could not have rectified this issue without Ryan's help and his friendly, professional and honest approach has literally saved me thousands of pounds. There are a lot of unscrupulous traders out there, it has been so refreshing to deal with RB Plastering & Damp-Proofing Ltd and I would like to express my sincere thanks and would highly recommend this business.

Ryan and his team arrived on time and did an excellent job on a ground floor bedroom, which is partly underground. The main wall was tanked 30 years ago, but the tanking had now failed and had spread to an adjacent wall with an electric socket. Ryan replaced the socket as well a proofing both walls and also had all the skirting boards replaced by his joiner. The standard of the plastering work and skirting is excellent. The whole thing was completed in two and a half days and all rubbish was removed. Overall we were very impressed.

We'd had a DPC injected to a wall in our home by a national company 2 years ago but saw that the damp area hadn't dried out. The company advised that plaster removal & installation of a membrane was required. I wasn't happy with the company so I looked elsewhere to have the job completed. I found RB Plastering & Damp Proofing through 'Which Trusted Trader' & after reading all of the 5* reviews sent an email explaining my situation. Ryan called me within an hour & within days came to assess the job explaining in detail what he would do. He followed up with a detailed quote by email & said he could do the work the following week. We didn't seek a 2nd quote from elsewhere because Ryan impressed us. He was very professional knowledgeable & friendly & the price was reasonable. Ryan & his men arrived as arranged & got to work immediately. It was a messy job but he had advised us how best to prepare for it including taking our dog out while the noisiest part of the job was going on. He showed us the membrane prior to plastering & explained how it worked & how it would dry out. They were quick & efficient & cleaned up the mess very well. The skirting was installed the next day finishing the job beautifully. Invoice & guarantee followed by email. Our only regret was that we'd not found Ryan originally. We thought using a large national company was the obvious choice but it was a mistake on this occasion. We have no hesitation in recommending RB Plastering & Damp Proofing

Had Ryan recommended to me through family and he was fantastic throughout, he even picked up the job after the sale fell through on an initial property I'd had him look at. Work was sorted out as soon as he could get access to the property, and he sourced additional contractors as soon as I found and tried to get other work carried out during the same period. He managed to sort out quite serious patches of damp throughout the property over just a few days and I'm really happy with the end result. Clear comms throughout and I really appreciated the updates he provided over the days he worked, making sure I understood what was being done and why. We recently moved home and our survey stated that we needed damp proofing. I've never had to do this before and was very unsure of what was involved. Ryan could not have been more helpful, clear or patient with all my queries! He visited the property before we moved in and provided a very detailed report, he then kindly took me through the report on the phone and even followed up with another visit once we moved in to the property to show us what was needed before the work started. On top of all of this Ryan's quotes were incredibly clear and easy to understand. He broke them down by work that was necessary to do and areas that we may wish to consider in the future. When he met us in the property he also suggested cheaper things that we could do in certain rooms ourselves to test if they worked before getting him to damp proof them (he suggested we invest in a dehumidifier in one room for example rather than charging us to damp proof it). Once the work started Ryan and his team could not have been more professional, thorough or hard working. As an aside - we had to get our home re-wired after it was damp proofed and I overheard the electrician mentioning to his colleague how impressed he was with the quality of plastering that Ryan and his team carried out! We had the team out to do our damp proof, in a property that we had just purchased. They arrived when he said he would to quote. Explained what was needed and why and also helped with preventing damp in the future. We received the quote when he said we would and he started the work when he said he would. The lads were so friendly polite and professional. They kept us updated throughout the work and also gave us further advise which we then went on to do. When they finished every day they tidied up which we didn’t expect as it was an empty house. They took pride in their work and the work was done to an exceptional standard. Ryan provided us with a very reasonable quote for work to fix a damp patch on an interior wall in our dining room. This was a job that needed to be done ahead of wider renovation work and he and his team did it very professionally, quickly and at a good price for us. An excellent job was done and all left clean and tidy. Couldn’t have been more pleased. But what really stood out was how they solved problems. This to me is the measure between a good company and an outstanding one. ! On their first visit after knocking all the plaster off etc, they discovered I had two door architraves, the joiner who was coming later had to be delayed whilst they sorted this . To cut a long story short this meant they had to stop work on a job they had only expected to last one day, and they were fully booked up. To overcome this they asked if they could come on a Sunday. Ryan came to have a look at the damp proofing in my house after another company had done some repairs. Although he had bad news for me, his advice was very helpful. I was away whilst he and his team were working, but I felt very informed as he'd send videos of the progress every day. The plastering is nice and smooth, and everything has been sealed and finished nicely.

I can not praise Ryan and John enough. My initial call was unanswered but Ryan rang back within 10 minutes and arranged to come and see what we needed. Ryan arrived, checked the damp spots and explained how it had got there and what the remedy would be. He then sent me the quote within a day which I accepted straight away. They worked quickly and efficiently trying to cut the mess to a minimum and removing everything as they finished each day. Ryan and team worked on our main bedroom and box room damper-proofing and plastering.
