I highly recommend Lee. The main reason I requested his help was to install internal insulation on the external solid walls of my 1930s flat, and he did an outstanding job. He carefully assessed the property’s needs and designed a bespoke plan to ensure the best insulation solution, preventing future issues, while significantly improving warmth and energy efficiency. From the start, he listened to what I wanted, was incredibly communicative, and provided regular updates. He planned and organized the work seamlessly, tackled any challenges with ease, and always checked with me if anything needed clarification. We accepted lee’s quote even though it was £400 more than another quote. He and his assistant arrived on time and as contracted emptied the loft, laid 200mm insulation, installed light covers and laid existing boards. He also helpfully emptied the original loft. I have mobility issues but managed to inspect the works after 2 days on site. All work done to a good standard but three boards found at back of loft were not laid. He said they were not part of the contract. I was quite clear from the outset that we had picked lee because he would use peg boards and relay ALL boards. After paying him a significant sum on time for 2 days work I felt he should have just said - sure I’ll pop back in a week or so and lay them. Instead he wants even more money. It has left a sour taste in my mouth.

He was able to come in the same evening, assessed the issue thoroughly and delineated our options clearly and with confidence: there was an affordable short term solution, and a better long term one worth investing in as soon as we could. It was an absolute pleasure to work with Lee. His experience, transparency and down to earth approach are very hard to find nowadays. Very happy with the work completed by Red Squirrel. The work was completed on time with minimal disruption. The team were courteous, respectful and cleaned up thoroughly afterwards. Loft insulation in a late 1940s house. Lee and his team quoted for the job in July 2023 and held their price for November when the work fitted in to our needs. They did an efficient removal of rubbish in the loft space, including much old and compacted insulation; installed insulation in two layers between and on top of the joists; an cleaned up after the job. Thoroughly recommended.
