We chose Redwood because we have had good experience with Which? Trusted Traders previously, and Redwood is based near our home. We were very pleased with our choice. Andrew Wallis quickly identified the problem with our lounge wiring, reconfigured it, and replaced the three-gang switch with a one-gang one (as two of the three were no longer in use). He carefully rehung and reconnected the two wall lights which had been disconnected for a couple of years, ensuring no damage to the surrounding wallpaper. At each stage of the work he explained what he was doing.

Just wanted to say a big thank you to Andy and Tao for a job well done. Andy and Tao,completed a total re-wire of my property including the removing of the old wiring, and sitting down with me and designing the new layout of electrical supply to the house incl first fix and second fix. There were numourse challenges as the house was a mid 18th century cottage and the work carried out,had to be meticulous and carefully planed with care taken with the install due to the age of the property.There knowledge and expertise made the experience that much easier with decisions relating to design.Andy and Tao went above and beyond,myself and my wife are truly greatful.Thanks to you both.

We recently completed a major renovation of our house which meant we needed some significant electrical works to be done. Having used Andy before for some smaller jobs, we had no doubts that Redwood Electrical were the team to help us. From the project planning phase Andy and Teo were willing and able to provide advice on things like lighting schemes and power demand as well as recommendations on updating our existing consumer unit to be able to meet our new power requirements. The project included: Supply and fit of new and replacement wall and ceiling lighting (including any required modules and termination) as well as supply and install of brand new ceiling spots in the kitchen which we did not have before. Safe installation of new smart lighting controls. Supply and install of brand new and replacement wall sockets, many of which needed new circuits. Provision of power for brand new kitchen including oven, fridge, wine fridge, induction hob, extractor and plinth heaters. Fault finding on existing circuits, addition of new circuits, supply and install of new RCBOs and 2 new consumer units. Supply and fit all components for multiple Cat6 termination points to provide hard-wired data connectivity throughout the house. There was probably much more that Andy and Teo did including adopting last minute changes. We couldn't be happier and will definitely be using Andy and Teo again when we need to.

This is the second time Andy has completed work for me, this time fitting a new consumer unit. Always spot on time, extremely professional and friendly, as well as being informative throughout. Highly recommended.

Andy gave me very helpful advice on updating my exterior security lighting and then installed the new equipment with great professionalism and attention to detail. Another great install from Redwood Electrical Services. I needed to have a EV charger installed. The guys advised me on what charger I should go for (bearing in mind that I have solar panels too). Choose the Zappi EV Charger and it hasn't disappointed me, meets all my needs and more. Great install by Tayo, clean and tidy as ever, he even worked with their customer services to resolve an issue with the product and was able to quickly diagnose the problem and rectify the issue. Great customer service from Redwood, would highly recommend to anyone who needs an Electrician or Electrical Services.

I had a complete socket power failure, Andy was recommended, he was at my home in a few hours, diagnosed the fault and restored power in a very short time. He explained every procedure, I felt reassured at each step that he was effecting a safe repair and he liaised with my usual electrical contractor. Andy was friendly and helpful, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him.

Andy both responded and attended very promptly to deal with an electrical problem I was having. Add to that he explained both what he was doing and why. Plus, he really is an absolute ‘gent’ - highly recommended.

My elderly parents had an emergency with their faulty wall lights. Andy made time to come as soon as he could to replace their light fittings with new ones and make sure their electrics were safe. He was kind and considerate to them and having worked hard to complete the job with care, he left the work area neat and tidy. Very pleased.

Upgrade for our 20 year-old garden lighting was required, so having discovered Andy Wallis, he visited to pland our requirements. Two visits and a good half day gave us he plan, and I bought the stuff required. However, I couldn't make a simple wiring job on a new toilet fan extractor work. He explained that it was no longer simple, and fixed it during a coffee break! Then a fox destroyed most of the wiring for our existing lighting, as well as the garden sprinkler system , plus a wire to a water feature submersed pump. Andy repaired that as an interim. Booked for the garden lighting, an electrical fault in an older ring main resulted in the burglar alarm becoming unstoppable, and 7 trips blowing, including that for the freezer. He put the garden on hold at 24hrs notice, and fitted a new circuit board instead, thus saving our feezer content. That alone made him a God in our eyes, but added to the fact that he explains things so well, and just isn't phased by a problem is a huge bonus. Did I add that he is immensely likeable and loves big motor bikes, which also goes down very well with ths petrol head? Oh, he has one downside, and that is he is so good that everyone wants him. Not yet!! I have a garage full of garden lights which I'd love to use before the bills get too big to do so, so me first please!. Thanks Andy, I'll put the kettle on.......

Over the weekend (2-3 July) we were having problems with the house electrics and on Sunday we texted Andy (conscious that this was a Sunday) and even though just having returned from holiday Andy came round the next day - after testing every circuit it came down to the boiler. During the week our plumber came round to check the boiler together with Andy's colleague, Teo to check on the electrical side - Turned out it was the boiler that was the problem and as a btw, wasn't economical to fix so we now have a new one arriving next week. Meantime we decided to upgrade our fuse box (the old one - and was only 3 yrs old but was of an old style) - Anyhow the new box arrived a week later and Andy was back to install. While he was here Andy replaced some strip lighting under our kitchen units and also tracked down a faulty extension lead and fitted a timer to the immersion heater (as a backup - as leaving it 'on' can cost lots... as we discovered....) Everything electrical now working as it should. All work was on time - in fact quicker than we anticipated and as per estimate. Always very neat, tidy and on time. Redwood Electrical are first class and thoroughly recommendable. From our experience as a customer you are always looked after. Can highly recommend, service 2nd to none.

I found Redwood Electrical Services on the NICEIC website, so I knew from the outset that Andy was well qualified and competent. He fitted a new metal consumer unit to conform to the best practice and relocated it to a more convenient position where we could reach it easily. He subsequently tested the whole electrical system thoroughly to ensure it was all working properly and was safe. He was extremely diligent. His quote included a detailed explanation of the work to be carried out, and I thought his rates were extremely good too.

I was recommended Redwood to get a quote for rewiring the whole house including new fuse board, moving lights and trebling the amount of sockets. When Andy and Teo came round to quote I was confident that they were more than capable of doing the job, they spent time working out the best way to complete the work. They gave a competitive quote and after acceptting we arranged a date.They carried out the work on the agreed dates in a very professional manner and cleaned up after themselves. Very pleased with the completed job and the price on the original quote didn't change. Would definitely recommend.

We suffered an electrical fire in the outside power supply room on a Saturday morning, knocking out our power and burning out the supply cabling and meter. These were reinstated by SSE and EON on emergency call out but it was also necessary to call an electrician to reconnect everything. I was recommended by a friend to call Redwood who responded immediately despite it being a Saturday afternoon. Unfortunately he established that the isolator switch box had also been terminally compromised so it was not possible to reconnect us immediately. However, he was able to source an alternative unit and return early the following week to reconnect us. This was not straightforward as new mountings had to be constructed and the weather conditions were atrocious. However, everything was done in a cheerful and confident manner. We are extremely grateful to him for all of this, not least for dropping everything on a Saturday afternoon to come round. Top marks!

Andy very kindly installed the required electrics into my garden workshop, which included a fuse box, wiring, installation of lights and sockets and a receiver for remote lighting from the house along with a light change and fitting of external socket on the house. Our house electrics were also modified to allow the provision for the additional garden electrics. Andy gave us a sound estimate for the work and this was agreed and adhered to with no extras. The work was methodical, not rushed and very neat. I would have no hesitation about recommending Andy for any electrical work, and will definitely use him as my first port of call if any electrical work should be required again. Fantastic service.

We were very fortunate to find Andy via Trusted Traders. He removed an outdated consumer unit and installed an upgraded version in a new location along with downlights in two bathrooms and changed a number of our light fittings to Class2 and installed three smoke alarms. All of this work was carried out to the highest standards and nothing was too much trouble for him. Andy was a pleasure to deal with, extremely helpful throughout and a very good communicator. He spent a week doing our electrical work and I cannot speak too highly of his work ethic and his professional standards. Andy was recommended by the fitter who installed our new kitchen. The electrical work involved replacing the lighting, installing two ovens and a new hob and replacing our old consumer unit with an upgraded version. All of the work was carried out to a very high standard and it was a pleasure to deal with Andy throughout. There were a couple of occasions on which it was necessary for him to work long hours to get the job done on time and he did that without any problem. There were issues with final testing which arose from our existing wiring and Andy and his colleague did a great job of detective work in running those issues down with minimal disruption. I have to give a seriously good review regarding Andy of Redwood Electricals. After contacting other electricians on Trusted Traders it was disappointing to find that at least 3 did not respond or turn up. Andy turned up at the promised time and returned the next day to finish the work to an excellent standard. I needed my bt socket moved to another location and a double socket added to another room and a light fitting installed. If anyone is contemplating installing electrics for charging electric/hybrid cars I would recommend you contact Andy. He is extremely knowledgeable in this area as he is with all other aspects regarding electrical installations. Andy has yet to send me his invoice but I feel confident it will be as per his original quotation.

We undertook a full Kitchen re-fit and everything including the ceiling revealed a wiring shambles. Andy from Redwood Electrical came in (on a very good recommendation) and assessed the situation, provided lighting options to complement the new Kitchen and was very open and honest about the cost. It was a sizable electrical job, estimated at 5 to 6 days covering a great deal of work. A lot of new appliances, all new lighting, some garage work (I moved the boiler, washing machine and Spin Driver to the garage) some outdoor stuff and not to forget a new RCBO. This was a large project, as it was not just a new kitchen but also a new kitchen bi-fold install, and incorporated a utility room into the kitchen. Fortunately, Andy was very flexible in being able to spread his time as the electrical work needed to be spread over a few weeks. Communication, timing and his professional approach were excellent. The cost came in on budget, even though we added some extra small bits during the project. I would have no hesitation in recommending Andy, and will certainly use his service again in future.

I needed 2 internal light switches changing and minor repairs to outside security lights. The work on the day was done efficiently and I was charged the amount previously quoted. Andy was very pleasant throughout and will be my first call for any future electrical work.

Full work completed by EICR and everything else has been checked and fixed on top of that. Extremely helpful and polite with the experience I was looking for and have received many great advice regarding the flat during the work. Ongoing communication was excellent as well as very helpful and providing support on the phone too.

We found Andy after calling AgeUK who supplied us with their list of recommended traders. Andy was friendly, very tidy and prompt. He finished off work that had been started but not completed by another electrician. We also asked him to do some additional work for us and he pointed out a few other jobs that needed doing. I had 3 electrical faults with a broken light switch, a broken extractor fan that needed replacement and failing recessed kitchen spotlights. I am delighted I called Andy to carry out the work. All repairs have been completed and the new integrated LED spotlights have transformed the kitchen. Andy was reliable and professional, and everything was left very tidy at the end. I had an electrical test and it showed the working to be old and a rat had chewed some wires so decided to have the house rewired due to it being 50 years old... after seeing pictures and reading reviews I chose redwood to do the job. I rather stupidly put a drill through a power cable and shorted out one room in my house. I found Andy on this site and gave him a call. He was very helpful over the phone and was upfront with his costs which I found reassuring. He came out a couple of hours later, exactly on time, and quickly got to work. Having received an extortionate quote for electrical work at one of my properties, I turned to Andy (on the basis of his rhapsodical reviews on Trusted Trader) and was not disappointed. His detailed critique of the work of the previous company's work was a depressing eye-opener, and his quote for the necessary remedial work extraordinarily reasonable. He did the work (replacing the non-compliant consumer unit) very quickly, and went out of his way to leave no trace of his passing. The most praiseworthy (and, in my experience, most unusual) aspect of his excellent work is that he spends client money as it if were his own, doing that which needed to be done and no more. My previous quote had incorrectly specified other, very expensive, work as being vital. but Andy identified this and eshewed the unnecessary tasks and expense. Very impressive.

For reasons of safety in our kitchen diner /sitting room we wanted to change to an electric cooker and oven. Andy installed the new circuit in a single day with minimum disruption to our busy lives. We obtained the domestic electrical installation certificate the following day together with the invoice. I was impressed by the speed of work, professional appearance of the installation, care taken of the outside appearance of the house, and the detailed discussion and instructions for use which were most helpful. We will certainly recommend Andy to our friends and family.

We have had a long standing intermittent electrical problem which nobody could get to the bottom of it. Andy came in, did a thorough test internally to eliminate the internal electrics, identified a rogue external wire which he fixed and also replaced our ageing master trip switch which was going off randomly. He also made sure each of the individual fuse boards had their own trip fuse and switch. Now finally no more worries and the electrics are behaving as intended. Great job, thorough and professional.

Having been given our requirement Andy explained clearly how he planned to meet our needs, the type of lights we would need and where to obtain them from. The quote for the work was clear and competitive. The installation was professionally completed with the minimum of cable showing. All "spoil" was cleaned up and removed from site. The final invoice was less than the quote to take account of a PIR being incorporated in one light supplied by us.

Second time we have used Andy. First time was to make sense of a myriad of wiring in the hallway that had got me to the point of exasperation. An hour or so and Andy had it working and now have hall and outside lights and the lounge led lights no longer glow! Andy came back and went through bits that we needed doing as the kitchen was pulling way too much amps for the board. I knew the board was old and would need replacing however this became a priority when Andy was doing the testing. He provides good common sense advice which allows you to get a balanced approach. On time, polite and efficient. Andy got on with the job despite a sore back and even had an early lunch when I inadvertently fell asleep in the chair (good excuse - had just finished night shift!!). We now have a board that will take any new loads and has room for expansion. Price as quoted. We will be having Andy back to tidy up other bits of electrics in the new year and we recommend him without hesitation.

Andy installed new ceiling lights in the kitchen, a new doorbell and a new porch canopy light. What stood out was his determination to get to the root of any existing problems and do the best job he could. We recently moved into a new-built flat. It is lovely, but there were various electrical things that weren't quite as we would like. Andy is a star! He listened carefully and told us how we could achieve what we hoped for. Living in a 16th century house means that many electricians (along with other trades) are bamboozled by a problem presented to them - not so with Andy. Given only minimal details as to possible fault, Andy set about calmly and systematically establishing the problem. First time I have used Redwood, but I will continue to do so, should electrical needs arise. We had some lights fitted which hadn't been installed properly. Andy found what the problem was and he was courteous, tidy and efficient in replacing what needed to be replaced and he left the whole system running well. Very knowledgeable (other electricians had tried and failed to solve the problem,) very reasonable (telling me to buy the things which I could source as cheaply as he could) and very friendly. A real delight to use.

I called Redwood to help change an old light fitting with a LED light set I recently purchased. The light also had a fan on the circuit so it was beyond me to fit it myself. We are very pleased with the work Andy carried out for us. I wanted the old fuse box replaced with a modern circuit breaker box and some plugs changed. Andy went over the house and identified some previous wiring jobs that were not up to modern standards, including a potentially dangerous mess of wiring in the garage. He carried out the work efficiently and to a high standard and I am so pleased with result and the knowledge that our electrics are now all safe up to current standards. Andy was asked to replace our old fuse box - which he done within the day and stuck to the more than fair price he originally quoted after only seeing another quote from a different electrician, and a few phone calls. As a first time buyer and finally moving out of my parents house money was obviously tight for me, and the property had a range of different electrical 'issues' to say the least - Andy was more than willing to offer expert advice and testing on all these issues throughout the property after we had done as much DIY ourselves as possible - to have an expert like Andy willing to check everything over and even offer advice on the best (and most importantly safe) way of dealing with the issues in the property was perfect, I would rate and recommend Andy to anybody needing expert advice or services.

Andy came to change our halogen lights to LED. This involved replacing all the old halogen ceiling lights (almost sixty of them) and sourcing the appropriate dimmer modules so that the new LEDs would dim like the halogen lights. He gave good advice for the different light options, rigging up a couple of different examples before we chose which light to go for. He was very friendly and tidied up any dust created from fitting the new lights. He kept strictly to his time schedule and budget which was much appreciated. We had Andy working in the house for six days and his polite and relaxed manner meant that it was a pleasure to have him in the house. We have a few more bathroom lights and wall uplighters that we intend to change from halogen to LED and I wouldn't ask anyone else to fit these lights. I would have no hesitation to recommend Andy to family and friends.
