Roofcare South West Ltd

I live in an old listed building and had some water coming into the house (there has been a lot of stormy weather). I assumed that most roofers would be busy at this time, called and left a message on Roofcare South West's voicemail. I also sent a photograph of the suspect chimney/roof area. RSW got back to me within 30 minutes. We had a conversation, the roof area was difficult to access and they proposed that they would come over when the weather allowed, build a tower which would enable them to get a good view and access to the suspect area. They arrived this morning which has been the best day we have had for a while and basically did what they had proposed on the phone. They took a video of what they had found on the roof; 2 slipped tiles, one of them broken, which were fitted under the flashing around the chimney stack base. These were replaced, some other maintenance work was done filling in potential gaps along the top of the flashing. Some sealant was also used and everything looked very smart.

I asked roofcare south west to quote for 3 pieces of work. (1) To investigate & fix a chimney that was letting in water, (2) repair a garage flat roof where I had water leaking in & (3) to replace a very large flat roof that had been in situ for approx 25 years and covered a living room, hallway and toilet. Over the years I have had 3 different roofers attempting to fix (1) & (2). Chris arrived on time. Diagnosed the problem and I received a quote the following day. The cost was near the top of the range I was expecting but I had been so impressed with the conversation with Chris that I accepted the cost and timings. The 3 man team arrived on schedule (slight delay due to bad weather but I was kept informed of this). They worked as a good unit, keeping me informed of everything that was going on. They arrived at the same time every day. One of the issues that they had to contend with, was that most of the work was at the back of the house. With no side entrance, debris had too be hauled through the house. This was accomplished with minimum fuss and they were incredibly diligent in keeping mess to the minimum and clearing up. Throughout the whole period, the weather was atrocious but they were able to work around it. I was 'dreading' the disruption of having this work done but the guys were very efficient and personable. I would use them again.

Roofcare SW were called in after starlings had got under our roof tiles, destroyed some of the roofing felt and built their nests. The work was done when they said it would be done and to a high standard. The site was left tidy and Kieran and his assistant were good examples of what tradesmen should be, and in a sector which is well known for its cowboys. Not the cheapest, but in this case you get what you pay for.

Chris Marks was a pleasure to deal with. He initially visited the house to find the source of the leak and then arrived as agreed to fix it. Very happy.

Extensive repairs to lower eaves on all sides; to 2 valleys and surrounding areas. Work was professionally carried out. Completed on time and with minimal disturbance to the household.

We both thought the workers were very informative they got on with the job well and kept us up to date with many photos which we found very useful. We both feel that our roof will now be able to handle the weather capably. we were very happy with everything.

Chris came and priced the job and gave me a quote and a time when the work could be done, all very efficient. The work was done on the days they said and were very friendly but efficient and worked hard. They replaced fascias, guttering and soffits and whilst they were up there they checked the roof for me and replaced a couple of the tiles that were broken. Really friendly but got on with the work and kept me well informed of how they were getting on.

It was only a small job to fit a chimney cowl but I couldn't fault the service. Chris came round quickly to estimate for the work and the job was done the following week. Very friendly and competent service and I would definitely use them again. Whilst they were fitting mine a neighbour asked if they could fit one for him, which they did at the same time. As a result they reduced the price for my job.

We liked Roofcare South West from the off - quick response, good communications, cheerful! They discussed problem (damp to chimney breast in upstairs bedroom) and had a multi purpose approach to the problem. New cowl/repointing/sealing leadwork etc. Took photos and short video to show the problems/potential problems so if you're the suspicious sort you can see what's what /before and after shots. (should you not fancy going up the scaffolding for yourself..). Prices there or thereabouts (we had another quote from a few years ago that we didn't 'get around to'). Would we use them again? Yes. The ultimate accolade.

They did a lot of work for us in about 12 days, repaired a leaking asbestos roof , did repairs to main house roof replaced soffits, replaced guttering, cleaned out gutters and downpipes , removed moss from roof etc. The workmen were very friendly nothing was too much trouble for them. When the soffits were replaced it was like a work of art to watch . The workmen were a pleasure to have around.

Needed a replacement due to poor tiles and invasive Virginia creeper. Chris and his team were able to do the job quickly (3 days start to finish) efficiently and to a very high standard. Would definitely recommend them.
