I found Pat on the Which! Trusted Traders website. He was quick to respond to my quotation request and came to my flat to see the work need to be done (painting the walls of a few rooms). He gave me a quote right there. My first impression from speaking to him was he seems to be an experienced decorator and knows well what he's doing. I can trust him. What a good find I made! Pat was very organised, tidy and clean. He planned ahead how he was going to prepare the rooms, what he needed to do each day. He made all the preparations so not to damage my new wooden floor. He made sure the walls were prepped for a good paint. He cleaned and tidied up every day and get it organised ready for the next day. I was able to leave him alone to do his job as I find him even more organised and detailed than me! His painting was professional. He also completed the job exactly as he had scheduled. Everything just fell into place exactly as he had told me I'm very glad I finally found a trusted decorator for myself and my friends for any more jobs in the future! What's more, through him I found other very good tradesmen who I can trust as well.

I needed a decorator to paint the whole interior of a 3 bedroom house. I was fortunate enough to receive a recommendation of Pat Roop from architect I have worked with on another project who has known Pat for many years. I found Pat very straightforward to deal with. He was reliable, communicated very clearly on price and timescales. He kept me up to date as the job went on. He was a very tidy worker and well organised - always a good sign with any professional tradesperson. He delivered a great job, on time and on budget. One can ask for no more. Pat has just completed the transformation of 3 rooms in our Victorian house. He is a skilled and hardworking painter and decorator who pays careful attention to preparation leading to an excellent finish to the job. Pat tackled our very neglected and damaged paintwork resulting in beautifully restored window frames and doors. He also prepared and finished the walls and ceilings to a very high standard. He is able to give advice and worked with us to achieve the results we hoped for. He is very punctual and left all the rooms tidy and clean at the end of each day. Pat is totally reliable, punctual and works steadily on the job. He's very proficient and knows his stuff especially with regard to Victorian housing, and is very cost reasonable. This is the second time he has undertaken extended work and, as last time, turned out an excellent result. Our neglected spare room had become very wet from leaking gutter. Pat arranged heaters and ventilation across several weeks and then returned the room to its former glory. He is very pleasant to have in the house, tidies everything up after himself each day and I'm perfectly confident in leaving the house keys with him when I can't be there myself. A top trader.

I'd highly recommend Pat, I had 13 doors frames that had been amateurishly misused. Pat's initial visit to cost up was very thorough and a realistic timescale, he's very friendly and very professional. The work took 2 weeks and Pat was always superb at letting me know any issues, updates etc. It was all done to time, in budget and he was amazingly clean, everything dust covered and cleaned as he went. The place looks so much better and he was very careful about realistic expectations of the work (oil vs water based etc). Very helpful, easy to talk and super at his job. Would definitely use again :)
