As we are in our early 80s the decision to have a new boiler was major. From the initial visit by Ian, the office staff dealing with questions to yesterday when Paul and his colleague came to do the work the whole team have been excellent. Kind, considerate, efficient, explained in detail and cleaned up so well. We are delighted and grateful for such a friendly company that has taken such care of our plumbing needs over the years.

All work carried out with expert knowledge at hand. Patient and polite workmen who appreciated that my elderly mother required heating during the cold spell. Minimum disruption of vital services and hardly knew the workmen were around. All rubbish cleared. I have used Rudkin for 20 odd years and would highly recommend them. They are ‘my plumber’.

We had a boiler refit, moved the hot water cylinder, added new radiators, upgraded others, had the system flushed and checked all was working including balancing the water pressure. They advised us on the most energy efficient system for the house and quoted accurately. They offered us a reasonable regular aftercare service too. They worked efficiently and were very clean around the house. Jason and Joe were a pleasure to have working in the house for 4 days, they always consulted us about positioning of new radiators and boiler and were always polite and patient with us. I'd highly recommend them.

I previously used Rudkin & Herbert to replace my central heating system and they did an excellent job so I got them back to refurbish my downstairs toilet. I needed the room completely gutting, a new suite installed, a boiler boxed in, a lot of piping moved plus plastering and tiling. Everything went perfectly from start to finish. Ian came round, we discussed options and he produced a clear, detailed design and quote, which was very reasonable. The work itself, by Simon, Nick and Minty, was carried out very efficiently and to a high standard and the results are excellent. Throughout everyone involved was friendly and helpful and I would unhesitatingly recommend them.

Rudkin & Herbert Limited were employed to perform a complete re-fit of a family bathroom and en-suite shower room plus installation of a mains pressure hot water system. From planning to completion, communication has been excellent ensuring that we were kept informed about all aspects of the work undertaken. Every element in the process of totally transforming these areas has been completed to an extremely high standard, and the final result is outstanding. The fine tuning on site was always done through consultation and we very much valued input and direction from what is clearly a very experienced team of capable craftsmen. Helpfulness was in abundance from all those involved, and almost felt like bringing the family in to do the work. This is a company that goes all out to deliver exactly what has been planned, and to do it to an exceptionally high standard within an agreed timeframe.

I have a little bit of a finickety streak when it comes to workmanship and I can happily say that I am extremely pleased with the work done. Everyone was more than happy to spend time working out the best way of doing things rather than necessarily the easiest and there was definitely no settling for 'that will do'. Rudkin and Herbert fitted a new Worcester Bosch Combi Boiler in place of the existing boiler, removing water tanks and cylinder from the loft. The tanks had recently caused problems due to a leak which resulted in damage to the back bedroom. Glenn and Joe, who carried out the installation, did an excellent job from protecting the carpets, installing the boiler, removing tanks and cylinder, and flushing and checking the central heating system, all within the agreed timescale (this in spite of problems with older radiators, one of which had probably not worked properly for years!) Both Glenn and Joe were friendly, helpful and considerate - my wife and I are both in our 80s - and the office staff were as well. All in all an excellent outcome - warm house, hot water on demand, a more powerful shower, no tanks in the loft, and all completed in less than 3 weeks from initial quotation. Yes, I would recommend this trader!
