I recently had a new gas boiler installed by Rudkin & Herbert. From start to finish, I received an excellent service from them. My initial enquiry was followed up by a prompt visit from Ian Herbert. Ian spent a good half hour thoroughly checking the current heating system and then explaining the different options available, leaving me a booklet and written information. I was impressed by Ian's expertise, attention to detail and professionalism. I received detailed and fairly priced quotes a couple of days later. The new boiler and wash basin taps were installed by Ed over two days. Ed was punctual, friendly and polite, and accommodating. He worked extremely hard, efficiently, and tidily and thoughtfully ensured we could use the gas cooker and had hot water the first night. Ed completed the work fully on time, ran through the new boiler instructions and left everything tidy. He was very professional and efficient - thank you very much Ed. The communication from the office was excellent throughout. I will definitely use Rudkin & Herbert for future works. Thank you all for the great service!

We were recommended Rudkin & Herbert and they did not disappoint us in any way. From the first moment Mr Herbert came to do the quotation to Jason expediting the work we have been extremely happy. Jason worked quietly and like a trojan on his own fitting our new boiler and a new radiator. Nothing was an issue for him - excellent employee! Wish there were more like him. We were left with water at then end of each day. Jason covered all of the areas he worked in and cleaned up at the end of each day. Cannot recommend this company highly enough.

Boiler and Solar Thermal service carried out, the engineer is very knowledgable and efficient he also fixed an ongoing issue with the boiler. We will use this firm again and thoroughly recommend them.

This firm responded immediately to our enquiry about a new boiler. Mr Rudkin visited us in person and demonstrated significant expertise in his field, relating this to our requirements with a great eye for detail. He listened to the future plans we have for our property and built into his quote some excellent future-proofing measures. The work started precisely on time and was finished within the expected time scale. Cameron and his team worked efficiently and effectively throughout. Other trades were called upon as required and appeared on-site immediately, completing their work quickly and with a minimum of disruption. Cameron demonstrated impeccable professionalism throughout, as did all the colleagues working with him. We were informed of developments at every stage, and where decisions were required to be made by us very clear explanations were given. At the end of the last day a clear run-through of the operating instructions was provided, and the boiler worked flawlessly from the start. Everything specified by Mr Rudkin was of the highest spec. and the installation by Cameron and his team was done to the highest standards. This firm can be highly recommended.

Although quite pricey and ran over the expected completion time, I am very happy with the work provided by Rudkin & Herbert. The team, transformed my bathroom - Simon, Carl, Paul, Shamus, Minty, Jes (rubbish removal), and some names I've forgotten (sorry), were very helpful, cheerful, always turned up on time and cleaned/tidied up every day. The different teams also worked very well together and if anything was not right, it was quickly resolved satisfactorily. Rob, the manager, was excellent, always available on the phone for any queries and frequently popped around to see how the works were progressing. Overall, I would not hesitate to recommend Rudkin & Herbert. Thank you, all.

After our old (20yr+) boiler broke it was time for a new one. We didn’t know anyone that had used Rudkin & Herbert before and after reading reviews we decided to go with them….. They didn’t disappoint. From when Ian came out and reassured us that it could be changed to when Cameron appeared on the day of works. Cameron is a credit to the company. He was always on time, polite and courteous. He laid carpet protector down on all areas that he would be working, cleaned up after himself every day and left us with water. He mostly worked on his own and had additional support pop in when they were free. Took ½ a day longer than quoted (price didn’t change) but this did not impact on the works carried out. Had an issue with our bathroom radiator after (not a fault of the installation) Paul came out the day that I rang and sorted the issue within minutes. I am now saving for a new bathroom and will not hesitate to us this company for the works.

We had a new central heating boiler fitted by Rudkin & Herbert as our old boiler had stopped working and was beyond repair. They came out promptly when contacted, were helpful and clear in providing guidance, and provided a quote within the day. Work was completed within a few days by Ed, who was courteous and helpful and had an excellent attitude. The price was as per the quote. We are very satisfied with the service.

Bathroom converted to a wet room to a very high standard by a superb team of assorted skills. Very impressed with the workmanship, friendliness and work ethic of the team and the way they all worked together. Work was completed in the time frame promised and everything cleared away and cleaned up at the end. Regular visits throughout by the Manager.

As we are in our early 80s the decision to have a new boiler was major. From the initial visit by Ian, the office staff dealing with questions to yesterday when Paul and his colleague came to do the work the whole team have been excellent. Kind, considerate, efficient, explained in detail and cleaned up so well. We are delighted and grateful for such a friendly company that has taken such care of our plumbing needs over the years.

All work carried out with expert knowledge at hand. Patient and polite workmen who appreciated that my elderly mother required heating during the cold spell. Minimum disruption of vital services and hardly knew the workmen were around. All rubbish cleared. I have used Rudkin for 20 odd years and would highly recommend them. They are ‘my plumber’.

We had a boiler refit, moved the hot water cylinder, added new radiators, upgraded others, had the system flushed and checked all was working including balancing the water pressure. They advised us on the most energy efficient system for the house and quoted accurately. They offered us a reasonable regular aftercare service too. They worked efficiently and were very clean around the house. Jason and Joe were a pleasure to have working in the house for 4 days, they always consulted us about positioning of new radiators and boiler and were always polite and patient with us. I'd highly recommend them.

I previously used Rudkin & Herbert to replace my central heating system and they did an excellent job so I got them back to refurbish my downstairs toilet. I needed the room completely gutting, a new suite installed, a boiler boxed in, a lot of piping moved plus plastering and tiling. Everything went perfectly from start to finish. Ian came round, we discussed options and he produced a clear, detailed design and quote, which was very reasonable. The work itself, by Simon, Nick and Minty, was carried out very efficiently and to a high standard and the results are excellent. Throughout everyone involved was friendly and helpful and I would unhesitatingly recommend them.

Rudkin & Herbert Limited were employed to perform a complete re-fit of a family bathroom and en-suite shower room plus installation of a mains pressure hot water system. From planning to completion, communication has been excellent ensuring that we were kept informed about all aspects of the work undertaken. Every element in the process of totally transforming these areas has been completed to an extremely high standard, and the final result is outstanding. The fine tuning on site was always done through consultation and we very much valued input and direction from what is clearly a very experienced team of capable craftsmen. Helpfulness was in abundance from all those involved, and almost felt like bringing the family in to do the work. This is a company that goes all out to deliver exactly what has been planned, and to do it to an exceptionally high standard within an agreed timeframe.

Rudkin and Herbert fitted a new Worcester Bosch Combi Boiler in place of the existing boiler, removing water tanks and cylinder from the loft. The tanks had recently caused problems due to a leak which resulted in damage to the back bedroom. Glenn and Joe, who carried out the installation, did an excellent job from protecting the carpets, installing the boiler, removing tanks and cylinder, and flushing and checking the central heating system, all within the agreed timescale (this in spite of problems with older radiators, one of which had probably not worked properly for years!) Both Glenn and Joe were friendly, helpful and considerate - my wife and I are both in our 80s - and the office staff were as well. All in all an excellent outcome - warm house, hot water on demand, a more powerful shower, no tanks in the loft, and all completed in less than 3 weeks from initial quotation. Yes, I would recommend this trader!

Very pleased with the quality of the work ( fitting of new shower) .Work involved re-instating existing shower cubicle which is better than new! Both Steve and Nick were courteous and carried out the works to a high standard

From the quote to the finished job we have been over the moon with the company. They are professional, punctual, hardworking and have done exactly what they said they were planning to do. Ian who did a thorough assessment of the work and tried to think of every possible thing to ensure that our supply was fast and efficient compared to other companies who were not so thorough. Glen and Joe worked non- stop and ha e done a fantastic job, they turned up when they said they were going to and always polite and friendly even when they had encountered problems along the way (due to this the bature if our property) to which they were able to solve with minimal disruption and with a lovely finish! We would definitely recommend this company, although make sure you have plenty of coffee and sugar in stock! Thanks again.

Jason and Cameron worked very hard for five days to complete a very difficult task of removing small bore heating, replacing with 15 mm and a new Cylinder. Their attitude was excellent and the site was kept clean and tidy, I would thoroughly recommend these guys and Rudkin & Herbert.
