I recently had a boiler installed by SandM Plumbing and Heating Company. I chose this Company as it is a Which Trusted Trader and Mike came to the house and having viewed the situation gave me a very reasonable quote, which was,in fact, the lowest quote.The highest quote, which was nearly double and was from a local Company, which was not a Which Trusted Trader. The Gas Engineer who fitted my boiler was John. He was pleasant, efficient and hard working. Not only that, but he went to great lengths to explain what he was doing and when the work was completed, he set up the timer for when the heating should come on. This was much appreciated!!! I would definitely recommend this Company for helpfulness, communication and excellent value for money.

S&M are a very professional, knowledgeable and well organised company. Found them in an emergency and so glad I called them. Such kind and friendly service - they went out of their way to help me and did an emergency repair the same day. The engineer was very experienced and knew exactly what the problem was and repaired it quickly. They also arranged a boiler service, which was with another engineer - again, very knowledgeable, friendly and professional. Clearly has high standards for the work he does. Highly recommend and will definitely use them again.

S &M replaced several radiators in June 24 These appeared to work ok but I noticed that the pressure was dropping in the boiler. This got worse in dec 25/Jan 26 and I thought it was an issue with the boiler until i realised that there was a small leak at the valve on one of the radiators installed by S&M I phoned them and explained the issue and pointed out that the problem had been there for a while but I had only recently identified that it related to the radiator they had fitted. Despite the problem being as a result of their work they wanted to charge me for the work to make repairs to their installation. I declined and called in another plumber. Now it appears that this slow leak remained unfixed at that time. He identified that the installation work had not properly fitted the radiator - they had reused the original pipe when fitting the valve and it was clear to see that there was a kink at the connection. In addition he also noted that basic system balancing had not been performed after the radiators had been fitting - which was a standard action to perform when new radiators are fitted. Extremely disappointed with the work performed and poor after-sales service - certainly will not use again or recommend to others

They came very well recommended, however it’s been one problem after another. I came back to a bathroom without a shower fitted despite the job being ‘finished’. Then I had a leak through my kitchen from the bathroom which they did fix, but they already knew the issue and ignored it during the bathroom fitting. On top of this, the boiler now fires every time the cold tap is turned on (did not happen before bathroom was replaced) and I’ve had to pay £300 to get a boiler engineer come out and tell me the boiler is fine and it’s their fault. I’ve and no apology, and now we know what the boiler issue is, they were supposed to come and fit a pressure reducing valve a week ago. I was called the day after despite having already said I was going on holiday and I haven’t heard from them since. The bathroom sealant looks like it was done by a child also in some areas, and they’ve dripped it all over the tiles we discussed not replacing so I had to scrape it off myself. Saying this job is amateur would be an insult to amateurs.

Repurposed Dining Room and Utility Room

Mike and his Team did and excellent job of converting my Dining Room into a Kitchen Diner, the old Kitchen into a Utility Room and move a Boiler from an upstairs Bedroom into the Utility Room. They also ripped out the fireplace and raised the lintel, ready for a hob and hood to fitted in its place. This was all going on whilst I had another company converting a cellar who had an issue with their plumber being off sick. Fortunately John was at hand to help in his stead, by fitting a new gas mains pipe and at the same time identify that there wasn't an earth bond to my gas intake. Whilst I told them to use my back yard as a skip for the duration of the works, they ensured all rubble and rubbish was tidied up and taken away. Whilst it took a couple of months to complete, I certainly happy with the results.

I had cheaper estimates but the professional way in which the survey was done and explained gave me faith in the company from the start. We agreed a start date by Tasha and also the time the engineer would arrive and good as their word he arrived at 8.00 on the dot. He introduced himself (John)and informed me what would be happening next in and how long it would take everything was done in a very organised way he left the garage where the boiler was sited cleaner than when he started such a neat and tidy job finally he showed great patience in showing me how to use the app control on my phone even downloading it for me. John represents this company in such a professional way. Thank you very much for your help John.

I needed my boiler repairing and after having it bodged by another company. I found S&M and John promptly came out to have a look. He did the repair but said honestly that it would most likely be a temporary fix. In the end I decided to get a new boiler and chose S&M to give a quote. Mike was friendly and honest (which is rare these days). He went through all the options and told me what would be best for my needs. So with boiler chosen, John came back to do the installation. What a top guy he is. Extremely professional and polite. And within a couple of days I had a brand new sparkly boiler. A slight hiccup a couple of days ago (no fault of S&M by the way), and after a quick email to Tash in their office, John was back and got it sorted the following day. A superb local company providing an excellent service at every step of the way. Mike, John and Tash... 10/10 and deserve a pat on the back.

I had been putting off a big job on my elderly mum’s home for some time - namely changing her heating system from a back boiler to a combi boiler and replacing all the radiators. Found S&M Plumbing & Heating online. Local company and excellent reviews, so began the process, albeit with a little trepidation. Needn’t have worried at all. The owner of the business, Mike, arrived at mums, as arranged, to look at what was required and prepare a quote. At the end of the meeting I could tell he cared about doing a good job and knew I was in safe hands. Quote arrived with me the following day. It was a fair price and around the figure I was expecting. 8 weeks on and the job has just been completed and to a very high standard, thanks to engineers John and Chris. Nothing was too much trouble and they were very respectful of mum’s home. John even returned to hose down and clean the driveway. Final mention to Tash in the office, who coordinated things in a very friendly and efficient way. I am delighted - as is mum! Great job guys and thank you all very much.
