I called Patrick after getting his details on Which trusted traders. I explain my situation and Patrick gave concise and helpful information.We agreed a date , time and price.On arrival Patrick reviewed the issue and explained why lock no longer functioned. Patrick completed the work on the porch door in no time. Very professional and friendly. I would use recommend this locksmith and use again.

I needed the lock changed in the back door for a high security version as the original key was lost. As the special lock was required to be ordered, Patrick installed a temporary lock so the house was secure .He returned a few days later to install the high security lock. He also called to my parents on the same day to change a lock and correct the door mechanism without having to make an appointment. Great result.

Required a locksmith who could repair my 83 year old mum who has dementia, broken porch door. Had a really good experience with this company, after being quoted by another company an amount I felt was too high and another didn’t even bother to come back to me. So very happy with the quote which was considerably less from Scanlon than I was quoted before and after sending photos of the problem porch door, was able to carry out the work despite being very busy and could only fit the job in originally for the following week. However, because it was agreed we would meet today to see what would be required, the work was done there and then. It was more challenging than expected but the work was carried out successfully and my mum is happy she doesn’t have to fight with the door anymore. Would absolutely have no problem in recommending this company.

At 4:30, we found our front door had stopped locking. Rang Scanlon Service and they were with us 45 minutes later. They identified and fixed the problem in about 45 mins. Absolutely brilliant!!!

The garden shed door (mortice) lock somehow got damaged and was unable to be opened with the key. Patrick was able to attend the next day after calling to fix the problem. He arrived on time, managed to get access to the damaged locking mechanism, and got the door to open. He also had a replacement lock in his van, so was able to install a replacement lock straight away. All in all, the work was completed efficiently and satisfactorily with a very reasonable cost.

Pvc door lock stopped working completely and so I found Patrick Scanlon on Which? Trusted trader. He arrived at the property at the prearranged time, had a look at the door and lock and identified that the gearbox needed replacing. He told me there and there what the quote would roughly be and he left immediately to get the part. He fitted the gearbox, made sure everything else like the cylinder lock was working fine and had a quick look at another door that wasn’t working that well. The cost of the work was spot on what he quoted and did not charge for the time it took to get the new part and made sure the area was clean before leaving. Few months later, had an issue with the same door and called Patrick again. He arrived a couple of days later as planned and identified that the gearbox that was fitted previously was faulty and a new one would be required. Even though the fault was not his, he did not charge me for the replacement work and immediately went to get the new part, fitted it and made double sure that things were working well. He kept me up to date during the process, took the time to explain the issue to me clearly and worked quickly and professionally. Patrick is certainly now my go-to locksmith and cannot recommend him enough to others.

The front door had warped making the locks hard to open and close. We also wanted a new cylinder fitted. Mr Scanlon arrived on time and checked which cylinder was needed. He then lost no time in fitting the cylinder and adjusting the door frame fittings to allow the two locks we had told him about to work properly. In addition, he also fixed a mortice lock that had never worked. Finally, he hoovered up afterwards and left the place tidy. The final bill was as per estimate and very reasonable. Mr Scanlon is a gentleman and we would have no hesitation in contacting him again.

Patrick arrived at the agreed time, and found the job (rear upvc door lock) to be more complicated than he had anticipated. He therefore had to go to Croydon, to the only open supplier, to collect additional parts. On returning, the works were carried out quickly, efficiently and cleanly; job well done, and left clean and tidy. I paid the standard call out charge, and for a replacement lock. Charges for the round trip to Croydon were not included, hence the 'flexibility' in the title box.

Needed to change our lock for insurance purposes. Found Patrick's name through Which Trusted Traders and contacted him. He arranged to call round a few days later and offered us 2 different options but advised that only the cheaper one was required. He carried out the work in no time at all in a friendly and professional manner. Would definitely recommend.

I am responsible for the running of a community hall used by a local charity and several community groups. We have had several comments recently about one of the locks causing problems so I called Patrick (I found him on the Trusted Traders site). He came that day at the agreed time and immediately saw the problem and rectified it speedily. I would certainly use him again and would be happy to recommend him.

Our front door lock broke on New Year's Eve - the handle snapping off the lock and while you could open the latch it didn't always work, so we had to leave the front door propped open or risk getting locked in. On a very busy day for them, Scanlon Locks fitted us in. Not only was I called to give an ETA but also again 30 mins before to advise they were on their way. The work was carried out quickly and professionally. It was explained to me why the lock had broken and the repair was done to keep the cost as low as possible. I was really impressed and would highly recommend.

I would recommend this locksmith to anyone. Patrick arrived promptly, and proved efficient. Impressively, he made no attempt to promote unnecessary work, keeping his invoice within my budget. He came across as being trustworthy and reliable.

Our back door was getting more and more difficult to lock, to the extent the key was bent!! I called Scanlon Security Locksmiths as they are local and had good reviews. Patrick came on 1st June and, actually, the problem was not the lock but the door being out of alignment with the door frame. Patrick did an excellent job and fixed this. He also cleared up very well - no mess left. Patrick was very polite and friendly, and I think his charge was very reasonable. I am very happy to give him 5 stars, and will certainly not hesitate to call on his services again.

Despite having trouble sourcing parts, and a very difficult fit, did an excellent job and, after 4 visits, did not put up his price. Thoroughly nice guy! Would certainly recommend and use him again!
