Shakespeare Carpentry is run by Alister who has over 20 years experience of working with customers to achieve the highest standard of carpentry for your individual requirements.
We currently undertake the following types of carpentry work;
Internal doors
External doors (wood construction only)
Fencing and Gates
Installing of loft ladders and loft boarding
Replacement of stair spindles and handrails
Alister prides himself on the quality of his workmanship.
We are able to provide a labour only service or a complete service with us purchasing the materials on your behalf.
We are also able to offer a rubbish removal service, which for a small fee we can remove and dispose (responsibly) of the waste from the job completed (see our accreditations section – as we are a registered waste carrier).

Alister spent a considerable time reviewing the job and explaining his recommended solution to me. As an older woman on her own, I appreciated this. I felt at all times that Alister knew exactly what he was about. The fence was OK but some of the posts had given way. The answer was to support each post with a well dug and concreted in short post which was then attached to the original post with 2 metal plates and 2 coach. A photo. would have been helpful here. He also solved a problem to do with indoor shutters, one of which scraped the wooden floor. A lack of knowledge on the part of the installer which Alister recognised immediately and then put right. A simple solution but one for which I was very grateful. I would thoroughly recommend Alister to anyone.

Alister attended my property promptly and issued a quote for the work, in a very quick time, the quote was also an excellent price. The seven doors were of metric size, and difficult to obtain, but through his perseverance and diligence, he obtained the required doors and established a time and date to suit for the work to be done. His time keeping is absolutely impeccable, and all the work done to the highest order, area was left clean and tidy afterwards, and answered all questions professionally. Overall, a superb experience throughout. I would not hesitate to recommend Shakespeare Carpentry to anyone. Thank you Alister for all your hard work.

Quick to respond, view and discuss job requirements and provide a quotation. The job was carried out on the date provided on acceptance of the quote. Work was carried out to a high standard, very tidy, and cleaned up thoroughly after works were completed. They ensured we were happy with all aspects of the job before leaving. No hidden extras or surprises when the invoice was submitted. Really pleased with the service and a polite and courteous guy too. What more can you ask for. Would have no hesitation in recommending.

Great service fitting new internal doors to our home. Quick to quote and book a date. Gave us all the information we needed to order the right parts and didn’t push to sell us any extras. Loft hatch and ladder - bespoke Great customer service. Turned up as promised, quote provided in good time. Discussed different option so we were able to choose what was best for us, type v's cost. Very clean and tidy took away all waste. One draw back is we have more work planned for him.

Second time we have used Alister, so had no hesitation in contacting him again. This time it was to supply and fit 5 internal doors. The work was completed in 1 day, to an exceptional standard and agreed price. The old doors were taken away too. Could not fault the workmanship in any way. The doors look absolutely brilliant. Thoroughly recommend Alister and have already asked him to replace some fencing.

Once again Alister has done a great job. He fitted some noggins in my conservatory, various skirting, architrave and boxed in some awkwardly placed pipes. He always turns up on time and his workmanship is of a very high standard. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending him to others.

Alister, arrived on time - He repaired the fencing, fitted 2 new posts and installed a pair of Bartley gates which he had ordered alone with the door furniture. The gates are lovely far better quality than I thought they would be. Great work, quality service I would definitely recommend him.

Almost two years after his last job fitting interior doors for us, Alister returned to fit three more doors. This time they were half glazed interior doors and the door stops had to be removed and replaced. All in all a very neat job, undertaken in the prescribed time (just half a day) and billed according to the estimate. Alister is a professional, tidy and friendly worker who gets on with the job in hand.
