Shakespeare Carpentry is run by Alister who has over 20 years experience of working with customers to achieve the highest standard of carpentry for your individual requirements.
We currently undertake the following types of carpentry work;
Internal doors
External doors (wood construction only)
Fencing and Gates
Installing of loft ladders and loft boarding
Replacement of stair spindles and handrails
Alister prides himself on the quality of his workmanship.
We are able to provide a labour only service or a complete service with us purchasing the materials on your behalf.
We are also able to offer a rubbish removal service, which for a small fee we can remove and dispose (responsibly) of the waste from the job completed (see our accreditations section – as we are a registered waste carrier).

Great service fitting new internal doors to our home. Quick to quote and book a date. Gave us all the information we needed to order the right parts and didn’t push to sell us any extras. On the day turned up on time. Fitted the doors well and cleaned up leaving no mess. Very happy with the service and would definitely recommend and use again.

Loft hatch and ladder - bespoke Great customer service. Turned up as promised, quote provided in good time. Discussed different option so we were able to choose what was best for us, type v's cost. Very clean and tidy took away all waste. One draw back is we have more work planned for him.

Second time we have used Alister, so had no hesitation in contacting him again. This time it was to supply and fit 5 internal doors. The work was completed in 1 day, to an exceptional standard and agreed price. The old doors were taken away too. Could not fault the workmanship in any way. The doors look absolutely brilliant. Thoroughly recommend Alister and have already asked him to replace some fencing.

Once again Alister has done a great job. He fitted some noggins in my conservatory, various skirting, architrave and boxed in some awkwardly placed pipes. He always turns up on time and his workmanship is of a very high standard. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending him to others.

Alister, arrived on time - He repaired the fencing, fitted 2 new posts and installed a pair of Bartley gates which he had ordered alone with the door furniture. The gates are lovely far better quality than I thought they would be. Great work, quality service I would definitely recommend him.

Almost two years after his last job fitting interior doors for us, Alister returned to fit three more doors. This time they were half glazed interior doors and the door stops had to be removed and replaced. All in all a very neat job, undertaken in the prescribed time (just half a day) and billed according to the estimate. Alister is a professional, tidy and friendly worker who gets on with the job in hand.

I have just used Alister to supply and fit 11 internal door in our hall and landing. His attention to detail was very impressive, his workmanship second to none and he arrived when agreed. He cleaned up as he finished, you wouldn't know he had been everything was clean and tidy after he finished. I would have no hesitation in recommending Alister to anyone and would certainly use him again if and when the occasion arises
