Signature Works

Having recently moved to the area, it’s always a gamble trying to find tradespeople you can trust to do a great job. We used Signature Works to block up a window and repoint a chimney after they were picked up as needing attention through a house survey. From initial quote to completion of works, Tommie was friendly and knowledgeable. Turned up when he said he would and left the place tidier than he found it! Really nice bloke and the work he completed was fab. Highly recommended.

I recently used Signature Works for the installation of a window in our property to help create a better office environment. Tommie was excellent from the beginning, understanding our requirements and providing us with a swift and very competitive quotation. Tommie arrived to complete the works when he said he would and on time. As it is an old house, we encountered some anomalies during the works but following good communication with Tommie, these were swiftly dealt with and resolved on the move. All of the works were carried out to a very high standard and the site was left clean and tidy. I have no hesitation in recommending Signature Works.

My first ever brand new kitchen after building work by same company. Worked with Howdens and fitted all units, dishwasher, hood, and flooring. Electrics sorted by another TT ( Day and Knight) Great work, excellent communication again and all dates arrived and prompt. No hesitation in recommending.

Tom and Stuart recently did a cracking job installing a new kitchen at my house including removing a wall. Tom gave us an approx date when we agreed the work and then kept in touch the closer it got as we needed to take delivery of the new kitchen. They started on the agreed day and each day arrived early and got cracking. The work was completed on time despite a few unforeseen bumps on the way but nothing was too much trouble and Tom kept me updated throughout. Both very friendly and polite, even with my kids despite them wearing Tom's ear defenders! Highly recommend.

This is the 2nd time that I have used Signature Works, the first time was when they were employed to replace the steps at our local village hall. This time they were employed to replace our patio areas and front slabs, plus additional slabs in the back garden at home. For context, this is just over 100 off 600 x 600 slabs. The property area is fairly flat but with a gentle slope, so whilst there were no major complications, the main challenges were getting the levels right and the extremely hot, dry weather. A start date was agreed, they arrived on time at 07.30, the skip had been delivered the previous day, so they were able to commence removing the old slabs and start digging out the ground to the correct depth for the mot. They were well organised with the correct equipment for the job, starting in the back garden where they worked methodically so that they were ready to start laying the mot which arrived early the following morning with the sand and slabs. As they were given a clear remit, the bulk of the slab laying was problem free and we had discussed how specific levelling challenges were to be handled, however there are always issues/options that crop up, so these were discussed and an action plan was agreed, this was largely related to levelling options to give the best visual appearance, this was mainly on the front path. The work was completed in 5 days as promised, and the garden area was left tidy with all waste put in the skip ready for collection. Recommended!

Tommie was recommended to me by my Which Trusted Trader electrician. From the first phone call to the last day of work, Tommie was great along with Stuart. Signature Works turned up when they said they would (neighbours said "they turn up every day!") , always communicated well, stuck to budget (plus a few unforeseen additions which is inevitable in any building work) had a great eye for detail and finish, solved leaks and drain issues, and kept me informed of progress throughout. Recommendations and advice offered in a friendly way. They are coming back to fit the kitchen together with Dave the Electrician (from Day and Knight). Wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Some days I left them to it with key box access, and had total trust in them, important for any house owner but doubly so for a female house owner who has never had building work done before.

Tommie & his colleague recently completed some outdoor drainage works for us. From initial contact Tommie was professional and friendly throughout. He explained everything that was needed, he was punctual and both were clean and tidy workmen - they even took away all the waste. After speaking with other companies I found Tommie to be very reasonably priced, realistic about his schedule and honest. We would definitely use him again, I am so pleased with the work undertaken.

Used this company to replace the old felting, batons and tiles. We discussed at length whether to clean the old tiles off or put new on. There was no pressure from Tommie either way and the decision was left entirely to me. Decided as I intend to stay in the property for many years to come to replace (which will see my lifetime out). So glad I did they look fabulous compared to cleaned up ones. Tommie arrived every day at the agreed time, he had my roof water tight within the first day and the works completed within three days. Skips and equipment required were removed quickly and even though it’s a bank holiday tomorrow the scaffolding is coming down. Couldn’t ask for a better service or quality. Would totally recommend

I have no hesitation in recommending Signature Works, I found them to be excellent. They arrived when they said they would, kept me informed at every stage, were always upbeat and nothing was too much trouble. I was very impressed by their work. Tommie and coworker did a wonderful job reroofing my house,replacing rotten joist and work that needed doing and putting in insulation. A joy to have working at my property, totally trustworthy, wonderful work ethic, very fair pricing and job done and cleaned down within 2 weeks perfectly. This was our second time using Tommie to complete work on our house. Having previously completing a brilliant extension at our last property, we trusted Tommie to come and complete the work at our new house. We asked for a whole downstairs remodel knocking through walls, creating a utility and downstairs wc and remodel of kitchen layout. This included some unforeseen issues. The work was completed again to a very high standard and in the time scale specified. Tommie is professional and helpful . It is not an issue at all having Tommie and his team in your home. We would definitely call upon Tommie again for any further work required.

Tommie did a grand job of plastering my kitchen ceiling, which involved a bit of troubleshooting to overcome the mess left by a previous tradesperson. He was timely, tidy, fair-priced and a lovely communicator and I'd be glad to have him back to do further work in my kitchen when he finds the time - like all good craftsmen and experts, he is in demand. Signature Works were employed to replace the existing steps at the local Village hall that were made of concrete that were starting to crack and break in places. A price was agreed based on a specific scope of work to replace the concrete steps with a brick and slab solution, that excluded possible extra work replacing the top step on the understanding that a variation would be agreed if the top step needed replacing. We were advised that the works would take approximately 2 weeks and would commence in November (the discussion took place in July) The work started on the 19th November and was completed on the 27th. Unfortunately, as the steps were circa 100 years old, when the old steps were removed, it was identified that there were no footings present. This was an unexpected extra that could not have been foreseen to install new footings, but was charged at a very reasonable price. The top step also required a partial replacement which was always a possible expected extra cost. The new step height is lower than the original, so will be easier for the less able people to use. There was regular communication during the works, the work site was kept tidy and safety fencing was provided to keep the area safe. Tommie is an amiable bloke, very friendly, very reliable with a high attention to detail.

Had my new built garden landscaped by Signature Works and he did an amazing job, he turned up on time every morning, worked really hard all day, cleaned up as much as he could before going home. Tommie is very polite and listens to what you want and advises when necessary. Tommie is a perfectionist at his job. I would highly recommend him

Followed plans well. Advised me where necessary. Kept me informed as to what stage was next. All work passed 1st inspection. Trustworthy....whole team had free run of entire property without a worry from either myself or my wife, which you cannot buy!!! Nice clean , professional job, would highly recommend.

Tommie and Dave were great and provided me with my dream kitchen/living room Reno. They took down a wall, stripped the kitchen, fitted RSJ, new floor, kitchen, great plaster work, new radiators and skirting boards. The whole journey was smooth, always on time and helped iron out the issues caused by the kitchen suppliers and came up with solutions. Good communication, they always told me their plan for the day and it was good to be able to keep in touch with them and not worry about anything while I was at work. I would recommend them to any friends and family looking for work to be done on their homes.

We last used Tom about 10 years ago, and are pleased we chose him again. This time he completed an extension to enlarge our kitchen and dining room so to create an open plan kitchen diner. Communication was good throughout, so we were told of a short delay to the work starting and kept informed about what was planned each day. Building control were quite happy with work at each stage and completion was within the timescale originally estimated. Tom and his assistant worked fairly tidily and cleared up as they went along. We did need to ask Tom to come back to sort a small problem and this was done very promptly and to our satisfaction. The only aspect that might have improved the experience was greater detail in the original quotation about what was included, especially in relation to what would be done to merge the old and new build. Finally, we are pleased with the value for money given, and would happily use Signature Works again and recommend them to others.
