We had a boiler serviced by this company and during the procedure, the engineer accidentally knocked the oil feed so the central heating would never have come on. After completing the work the engineer did NOT test to see if the heating was working, had he done so he would have realised his mistake and would have been quickly able to rectify the error. He failed to do that and left. When we came home to a cold house on a bitterly cold November day we tried to turn the heating on and it would not work. We immediately rang the company and left a message on their answerphone that we had no heating and could someone contact us urgently. We received no response and were left without hot water and heating from Friday until Monday when someone did turn up and quickly fixed the problem and was in and out in less than 5 minutes and told us what had happened. My husband has a heart condition, is a diabetic and is on the vulnerable list with all utilities but that was ignored by Simon Barker. We emailed AND posted a letter but were again ignored, we received no apology but just an invoice looking for immediate payment! Mistakes happen, we have no issue it was made in the first place but the system was never checked to see if it was working and that is unacceptable. They left two pensioners, one with serious health issues without heat and hot water for 3 days during a particularly cold period, shame on them. We would NOT recommend Simon Barker to our worst enemy!
