The installation team were very respectful of both us and our property, always protects the carpets and left everything very clean and tidy. What a fantastic and efficient service from start to finish! I urgently required my main bathroom and ensuite to have modifications made at short notice to allow them to be fit-for-purpose; to enable me to continue to care for my wife at home. My main priority was to have a new bath to accommodate a bath chair and make both floors easy to clean and slip resistant to reduce chances of slips and falls. This required a new toilet and sink in the ensuite so that they fitted up to the back wall and accidents can be cleaned up with ease. To enable all this work to be done, I had to put my wife into a care home and this limited the time frame for the work to be carried out. This did not prove to be a problem as extra manpower was allocated to enable a normal 5-day job to be completed in 4-days. I found Harry and his team extremely professional, courteous and friendly who clearly respected my property and belongings throughout the process. They did their level best to minimise dust spreading outside of the work areas and constantly cleaned up after themselves. They were also there first thing in the morning ready to start work and did not stop until the end of the working day. The majority of the work was completed within the 4-days to enable my wife to come home, with just a little bit of finishing touches completed on the 5th day. I am so very happy with the finished product that is practical for our circumstances without looking like a NHS wetroom! Thank you very much

I contacted Barkers as one of my tenanted properties had an issue with the boiler. They attended the following day to view the issue and completed the repair two days later. We had a boiler serviced by this company and during the procedure, the engineer accidentally knocked the oil feed so the central heating would never have come on. After completing the work the engineer did NOT test to see if the heating was working, had he done so he would have realised his mistake and would have been quickly able to rectify the error. He failed to do that and left. When we came home to a cold house on a bitterly cold November day we tried to turn the heating on and it would not work. We immediately rang the company and left a message on their answerphone that we had no heating and could someone contact us urgently. We received no response and were left without hot water and heating from Friday until Monday when someone did turn up and quickly fixed the problem and was in and out in less than 5 minutes and told us what had happened. My husband has a heart condition, is a diabetic and is on the vulnerable list with all utilities but that was ignored by Simon Barker. We emailed AND posted a letter but were again ignored, we received no apology but just an invoice looking for immediate payment! Mistakes happen, we have no issue it was made in the first place but the system was never checked to see if it was working and that is unacceptable. They left two pensioners, one with serious health issues without heat and hot water for 3 days during a particularly cold period, shame on them. We would NOT recommend Simon Barker to our worst enemy!

The 2 man team were great, quick, tidy and polite. Super job (replace shower pump). Always removed boots in the house. Came in under estimate too! Also took away all waste and old parts. Would recommend them any time.

After phoning various local plumbers and promises made but never delivered we phoned Simon Barker. An appointment was made to visit us. Bradley arrived on time and measured up and made us aware of issues no other company had. He told us he could source the sink and taps for us and then arrange fitting. True to his word this was done , quote agreed and sink fitted yesterday. Fitting was done efficiently and professionally, all rubbish removed and kitchen left clean. We will certainly use Simon Barker again. So relieved to find a reliable company.

My old boiler broke down, and a call to Simon Barker Plumbing and Heating, prompted a quick response, and the workmen arrived exactly as promised, and carried the installation of a new boiler with efficiency and skill. The complete installation was carried out speedily and I am well pleased with the result. I recommend them.

My oil boiler locked out so had no heating or water. It happened suddenly with no warning. Pressed the override button which started it again, but it locked out again after a couple of hours. Repeated the process several times, but had the same problem. I called Simon Barker Services Ltd in the morning and the phone was answered very quickly. I explained the problem, and was reassured that they would get back to me as quickly as possible to let me know when an engineer would be able to come. I received a text message within 15 minutes to inform me that Simon would be with me that afternoon. Simon checked the boiler thoroughly and explained everything to me. It was difficult to diagnose an intermittent fault, so Simon adopted a process of elimination fitting a part that was most likely the culprit. He did explain that two other parts may also be causing the problem. Sadly the boiler locked out again after 6 hours. I phoned the following morning and Simon returned a short while later that day with the other parts. The boiler is now working fine. I was very impressed by the excellent and polite customer service, prompt action and the respect to my home. The failed parts were left with me to be examined by an engineer. They certainly were broken! I have no problem in recommending this family run company to others.

Had a new boiler fitted to replace my very old one. Jake and Callum arrived on time both days and were very pleasant. They made sure I could access hot water and heating whilst my boiler was out of commission. They did an excellent job, explained things and made sure everything was neat and tidy when they left. No hesitation in recommending them.

I have used Simon Barker Services Ltd 3 times. This time was to replace a very old oil boiler and cylinder to a combi boiler. As usual the Service was first class. Our combi boiler was replaced over two days recently. Bradley spent some considerable time with us discussing what was required and how this would affect us. We also had some concerns regarding the existing boiler and how it had been set up which he said could be resolved. On the day, Jake and Shaun arrived promptly and set to work. As predicted, they ended the first day at 4.30pm. We knew that we would be without heating and hot water overnight but the electric heaters which they left with us kept us warm. They arrived promptly on day 2 and by 4.30 that afternoon the new boiler was up and running. It was clear they had gone to considerable trouble to resolve the concerns we had with the previous boiler and we are absolutely delighted with the finished result. 1st time I have used this company and I will definitely be using them again. My oil boiler was very sooty and not running correctly. The plumber did an excellent job and was professional and courteous. He soon had the boiler (which is a year older than him) running efficiently. I was very happy with the work and the price charged.

My stop tap was not cutting off the supply so had to get someone in. Appointment made for a few days ahead for early afternoon. Plumber rang me in the morning asking if he could come early as he was free due to missed appointment. Agreed time and he arrived as expected. Got straight on with the job and after realising it wasn't going to be a straight forward swap he had the pipework cut out and replaced, to me, in no time. Very good service from the company and the plumber. Left the work area clean and tidy. I will use this company again. Cost not bad either. Not out of line with what I expected.

When our boiler was serviced the plumber advised me to have the radiators flushed through as the boiler was 'kettling' which I didn't understand as not had radiators before but he told me what had to be done. He arranged for a quote to be sent to me and advised to have it done in the warmer weather as the heating would be off all day. The plumber that came to do the job was efficient, to the point of putting on slip-on covers on his work boots every time he came in the house. It was an all day job, he had to go in the roof etc. I had no idea it was such a big job (a woman of 78 I thought he attached a hose to the radiator and had a bucket to catch the water) My son had helped me move my blanket ottoman from the radiator and the plumber helped me put it back. The quote mentioned problems that could occur but there were no problems and the bungalow was left all okay when he had finished. He did say that when we had the new boiler - 2007 and not fitted by Simon Barker the plumber should have done the radiators then but from the mess he got out it was obvious it wasn't, and I would have remembered it anyway. I'm more than satisfied with the job and would recommend Simon Barker Plumbing and Heating to anyone.

I have used this company in the last three years for my boiler service, and have always find they arrive at the time they say, the workmen are always polite and clean up after themselves and I find them very efficient polite and give me advice on any queries I have, I can highly recommend this company to everyone.

Simon Barker Services is an approved servicer for Viessmann boilers. We have used them now for about five years. Their engineers are always polite, competent and efficient. Their charge for a boiler service is very reasonable. I would have no problem recommending the company to a prospective user.

Having recently moved into my new property, the upstairs toilet decided to stop flushing. I contacted Simon and an appointment was made for someone to visit in approximately a couple of weeks. Harry the young plumber arrived exactly on time (actually he was half an hour early). He changed the flush unit in the cistern which wasn’t easy as the bathroom is dated and connections had corroded with time. He was friendly, approachable and fixed the problem. Unfortunately, overnight a very slight leak developed from one of the connections but as soon as I contacted the company Harry immediately contacted me (within a couple of minutes) to arrange a time to come and resolve the problem. Again on arrival he was friendly, punctual and approachable. He had the issue resolved within 5-10 minutes and the toilet has been perfect since. I was so impressed with the company and Harry that I have them booked in to complete a boiler/heating check for me later this month.

First time I have used them to Service my Boiler and really impressed, on-time polite know what they're doing. Do not overcharge and certainly will use this company again in the future.

Looks fantastic! On our previous review we mentioned that we were going to have the bathroom refurbished. David from Simon Barker completed the final touches today. We are extremely happy with the work he has done. Our old bathroom has been transformed into a modern shower room. Simon Barker met with us at the bathroom suppliers and helped us choose fixtures and fittings. We couldn’t be happier. The renovation was completed within the quoted timeframe and as per our quote. During the renovation, David suggested improvements, which we accepted, and we are very glad we did. David took the time to answer our many questions as he went along and showed us how to clean and maintain the equipment.

It was the Christmas period and a central heating technician came out quickly to fix serious problems with the pressure on the central heating combi boiler. A new part was installed efficiently and quickly. The technician was polite and competent.

We had problems with our boiler constantly failing. A technician from Simon Barker came to repair the problem efficiently. He showed us the broken part and fitted the new part. The technician returned a week later as we wanted the boiler serviced as we had recently moved into the property. This was also done efficiently. We have since contracted Simon to completely refurbish our bathroom as a result of the good service received.

When I moved to the area Simon Barker Ltd was recommended to me and I have not been disappointed. I have had work done in the kitchen, utility room, sitting room, bathroom and shower room. It has all been done with a minimum of disruption and with a high degree of professionalism. If I had to single out any of the excellent workmen it would have to be Dave, but I have to say everyone who came in to my home was polite and hardworking, and they all left the place they were working as clean and tidy as they found it. We have used Simon Barker Services since 2009 & have had no problems at all. From relatively small jobs such as the expansion vessel, up to a new boiler, they've all been completed satisfactorily with no recalls due bad workmanship. Prices are reasonable & they turn up when they say they will.

We first used Simon Barker and his team last year when we had a number of problems with our boiler. The solutions were quickly identified, parts ordered and fitted. At all times his guys were courteous, efficient and tidy. The invoice arrived promptly, clearly listed all the work that had been done and was very fair. Recently the boiler was due for a service, one phone call was all that was needed to agree a time and date and the young lady arrived on time, completed the job and left with the minimum of disruption to us.

This is the first time we have used Simon Barker, and having read all the good reviews,asked him to give a quotation. He arrived on time,was very professional and advised used on the best oppositions. The quotation was satisfactory and the work started to replace the whole old heating system the following week. Again the three young men,turned up on time,and were extremely polite and good workers. Each night the vacuumed,replaced carpets and furniture,leaving things almost as normal. They took great pride in their work and complete the work on time. The end result is even better than we expected,and our friends/ family can’t believe the house is back to normal after such major work. The final invoice was exactly as the quote. A young man (Bradley) carried out his work so professionally and so quickly I hardly knew he was there! He left the bathroom spotless after repairing a sheared off bolt to the toilet cistern, not an easy job as access was difficult but he accomplished the job regardless. A task well done!

Simon came around to give quote nothing too much trouble even only small jobs.Work carried out was 2 basin waste replacements shower waste replacement , 3way tap fitted and new radiator fitted. Plumber arrived on date & time agreed work was carried out well he worked clean &tidy.One small hiccup when shower waste brought was wrong one new one ordered work was rescheduled and was fitted within 48hrs and all at price quoted.

Called Mr Barker after running out of oil (my fault,wife was not happy) as a new customer I didn’t know what response I would get but was pleasantly surprised. Thanks to Simon Barker services, our boiler was only out of action for one night. Typical, it had to break down during the coldest week of the winter. They never break down in the Summer do they!! Pinpointed to a new part being replaced same day, which was got within a couple of hours. Thanks for the great service.

After finding a water leak from a mixer tap we contacted Simon Barker who serviced our gas boiler. As this was not an emergency we expected to wait serveral days but were pleasantly surprised to receive the same day service. All the staff were polite and friendly and the lady taking our phone call was very professional and a good impression for the company. Would thoroughly recommend this company.

I called on the off chance that someone would be able to help as i had put a nail through a pipe. 2 hours later a young gentleman arrived and swiftly resolved the problem. He then tidied the area he was working in which i was surprised at as he’s the first tradesman who has done this. Highly recommend these guys.

Simon's employee arrived on time, was courteous and before he commenced the work, ensured all the kitchen surfaces were covered. The boiler is housed in the kitchen. He worked efficiently, and to a high standard, in my opinion. I have used Simon's company twice before and have always been extremely pleased with the workmanship and the politeness of his employees. The area worked in is left clean and tidy and I would, and have recommended him to colleagues and friends.

Simon Barker Plumbing and Heating was the only company that deigned to reply to my many requests to local plumbers for advice and a quotation for work to enable me to finish our ensuite. They advised early on that they had a very busy schedule and it could be up to 8 weeks, possibly more, before they could carry out the work. I received very helpful advice about what needed to be done and how they proposed to do it and was also given an option to do rather more than I thought my limited budget could cope with. The quotation came through and the price for putting first fix pipe work and raising the floor to be level with the adjoining bedroom, to allow me then to get on finish tiling, was very reasonable. I was lucky that they had a cancellation and two tradesmen were able to come in and do the work last week. Harvey and Harry did a really good job which I am very pleased with. They were very careful to work very cleanly and were scrupulous in tidying up as they went along.

First service of a relatively new boiler in a house I moved into earlier in the year, but had no instructions how to set the boiler to work to its optimum, also I had a towel rail not working and an upstairs radiator not working as it should do. Young lad arrived and listened to me waffle on about the above, then as he removed the panel under the boiler cupboard there were the instructions :-) Boiler was serviced, the bar corrected it was way to high, thermostat checked and both upstairs radiators fixed all within an hour. What a difference having things working properly has made to the temperature of the house now, totally brilliant, and extremely good value. Simon Barker was recommended to me and I have no problem recommending to anyone else.

Fast efficient service. My boiler was not working as it should, but since the service and fitting of a new pump, it is much more effective and quieter. The plumbers arrived promptly at the appointed time and completed the work quickly and with minimal mess.
