Simon promptly gave me a detailed quote in June 2024. He was not able to carry out the work immediately because of a build up of work and a knee injury. He was able to carry out the work by early November. The work was carried out quickly and efficiently in a morning. All the old roofing material was tidied up into a skip which was removed shortly afterwards. We are very happy with the new roof. The original quoted price, from June, was maintained.

I noticed water damage to wall in upstairs bedroom. I got Simon’s details from Which. Simon arrived as arranged, on time, and quickly diagnosed the problem as cracks in the lead box gutter. He carried out the repair there and then, and said he would post his invoice to me. His charges were very reasonable for the work carried out. I particularly liked the fact that Simon took photos of the roof to show me the problem.

Simon came to assess the work required promptly, and I received his estimate within 4 days. The four required jobs were scheduled efficiently, from the erection of the scaffolding on two sides of the house to its removal 7 working days later. The two roofers carried out three of the jobs as quoted very effectively within three days but, after cleaning around the Velux window, advised me to monitor the problem there as it could have been caused simply by the build-up of debris. If need be, they would return to install any new flashing at a later date. I was impressed by this suggestion as it was honest and also saved me some money. I would have no hesitation in recommending Simon Meadwell for roofing work.

After slippage, I needed some ridge tiles re-positioning and re-pointed, a handful of roof tiles replacing and a new cowl fitting on the chimney. Simon was very prompt with the initial viewing, quotation and work undertaken. He arrived at the times stated and the work was done quickly and efficiently with no mess. I would definitely recommend Simon.

I was very thankful to find Simon on the Which Trusted Traders website, as finding a good roofer can be a tricky business, in my experience. Simon totally fixed the problem we've had with our roof and we are 100% satisfied with his work. Him and his team were prompt, friendly and did a great job at a fair price. I had vegetation growing on my chimney and contacted Simon Meadwell Roofing to undertake its removal and any repairs necessary. I am well aware there are some cowboys in the roofing industry and was attracted to use Simon because of the Which Trusted Trader status which gave me reassurance that whatever work was done was necessary and done correctly. He attended promptly to tell me what work would be necessary and provide a quotation which I accepted. I was also advised at the time of the approximate time when the work could be done. There was a wait for the work to start and this was slightly longer than first thought but I fully appreciate the roofing industry subject to weather etc. As the start date neared I was of the date the scaffolding would be erected and of the date the work would start. Simon arrived very promptly on the start date and with his colleague started work immediately. I was advised as the work progressed of any additional work which closer examination of the chimney revealed. The work was done very efficiently and my property left clean at all times. Very happy with the outcome.

My roof, which is 64 years old, required replacement of a small area of underfelt and re-pointing of one of the valleys. This was carried out promptly and efficiently after a helpful inspection and explanation.

After a long frustrating wait to have our small flat roof replaced, the rain finally stopped and the work could start. Whilst we waited for the weather, Simon kept us updated regularly. The work was completed quickly and efficiently and the site left clean and tidy. We would certainly recommend his services to others.

Simon has carried out two big pieces of work for me now and I wouldn't work with any other roofer. He is busy, so expect to book him in advance but it's worth it as Simon and team are really communicative, and friendly. He sends photos of how the work is going (especially useful if you aren't on site). Highly recommend!
