Steve from Skay Electrical Ltd came on time and carried out all electrical works to the house over two days. He removed the old fuse box under the stairs and replaced it with a new fire rated fuse box, which he supplied. Although, it took him 2 hours for fault finding to repair cable fault on the lighting circuit. He finally managed to resolve the problem. He supplied and fitted two new security lights one for the rear external wall and the other for front external wall. He took the power from double socket in the small box room and supplied and fitted one switched fused isolator switch. He fitted two wall lights in the conservatory and one ceiling light in the kitchen provided by us. He re-positioned the washing machine socket into a cupboard beside it in the kitchen. Also supplied and fitted one extractor fan in the bathroom. All works were carried out as agreed on the schedule and on budget. He left the place tidy afterwards. Steve was friendly and helpful in explaining the work that needed to be carried out. He also had good communication skills. We will definitely be using Steve for any future electrical works

My wife and I were very impressed with Steve’s work in our house. We had Steve from Skay Electrical Ltd around again, to sort out various little jobs that were building up around the house. We found it reassuring that he is a NICEIC Approved Contractor, and he previously installed an up-to-date consumer unit for us. This time he put in two new sockets in the lounge, and repaired a third; He put an extra socket on our washing machine & dryer, as we had them both on a plugboard, which Steve advised not to do. He put up two new light fixtures in the kitchen and lounge, fixed a light in the back room which was not working, and changed a hall cord and shade. Amongst various other little things, he removed three smoke detectors and replaced them with a mains powered heat alarm in the kitchen, and two mains powered smoke alarms, downstairs and upstairs, wireless interlinked with three radio frequency bases, which we had wanted to have done for some time. He was friendly and efficient, and also checked the electric shower that had been put in by someone else. He worked very hard, and kept to the quote. We would definitely recommend him to anyone who needs any electrical work done.

Steve from Skay Electrical Ltd. was called when we had an emergency with a light switch. He came within half an hour and fixed the switch. He was very friendly and we could see that he was highly knowledgeable about electricity. We decided to have him put a consumer unit in, which we had been meaning to have for some time. Steve explained the difference between various consumer units and gave us good advice about which one to have. On the day, he worked hard all day, and after installing the consumer unit, he did a general check, to make sure everything was working as it should. We are very pleased to have found him and are engaging his services again to do some further jobs for us.

Steve of Skay Electrical Ltd did an amazing and reliable job for us. He first checked the electronics of a property that we were about to purchase. His report was very detailed and clear recommendations were made. We went ahead with the purchase and employed his services to upgrade the mains box which was outdated and an immediate hazard and also to fix a few issues that he had highlighted. After a fraught month without an oven, problems because the wiring was not right for the oven and an electrician that I had no confidence in I contacted Skay Electrical Ltd. It was a joy to have Steve doing the work. He did a little bit of rewiring in order to install the double oven and the hob. He found solutions to problems he encountered and nothing was too much trouble. He was also going to replace my extractor fan but found that the one I had bought was not right. He offered to buy the correct type for me and he should be coming to install it later this month. I found Steve very helpful and professional. He was friendly and easy to get on with. I had a problem with the downstairs lighting which had completely fused. Steve of Skay Electrical (whom I had used on a previous occasion) responded quickly to my email request for assistance, and arrived promptly on the agreed day. He patiently tested the network until he found the source of the problem. This was quickly and efficiently rectified and with his advice some additional switches and bulbs were replaced. We have used Skay on a number of occasions over the years and at various properties as Steve is always knowledgeable, friendly and completes his jobs promptly and to a high standard. We have used Skay Electrical numerous times over the last few years. Works include installing floodlights, replacing a bathroom extractor fan, installing a kitchen hood and changing light fittings. On all occasions, we were very pleased. Work was done swiftly and efficiently. Would definitely recommend Skay Electrical.

A job that should have lasted a maximum of a full day was partially ended after approximately eight weeks and three visits. Took hours to fit a hood, drilled extra unsightly eight holes in the granite splashback and didn't bother to make it good, blamed Zanussi for a design fault. Fitted four dimmers, one of which does not work properly, fitted few more light switches, two of them upside down, kept complaining about how long it took him, didn't want for us to be around when he was working (evidently due to his incompetence), was rude both to me and my wife and wouldn't correct his shortcomings. Worse trader I have ever had.

We asked Steve to quote for a number of small tasks around the house, mainly lighting related. He not only gave us ideas to think about and good advice but his quote was also very competitive. On the day he was punctual and worked as considerately as he could given we were working from home. We had worried that some of the work would result in more making good of decorations that we would have wanted before Xmas but Steve managed to find a way to install our new hallway lights without any damage to walls which was fantastic! All work was done to a high standard and Steve tidied up after himself. When Steve realised we had bought the wrong light bulbs for our new hallway lights he quickly found the correct light bulbs and didn't charge us! Would definitely recommend Steve and ask him back for other work in the future.

Steve of Skay Electrical replaced a broken bathroom fan for me. He communicated well, having to come back a second time after collecting a new part, keeping me posted as to when that would be and completing the work in a timely manner. I will not hesitate to contact Steve again next time I need an electrician.

We have used Steve before, and he most recently installed a kitchen cooker cable in our Victoria house. He chased it into the wall and was able to go under the ceiling beams to the consumer unit. He also installed plugs and light switches following a tiling job, and noticed that there was no main earth wire (!) in the consumer unit so installed that for us too. Steve is always punctual, knowledgeable, friendly and a pleasure to have around. We will definitely be getting him back for further work in the future.

Steve fitted a bathroom heater and fan. He was punctual, polite and tidy. I appreciated that he explained as he went along as the job turned out to be less simple than anticipated due to the previous wiring. Nevertheless he completed the task super fast. I found Steve to be very reasonably priced, knowledgeable and efficient. We would use his services again and hence I am happy to recommend.

Steve was very responsive and answering questions patiently when we called him for a quote. On the day carrying out the work, he arrived on time, spent time discussing and explaining the design of our spotlight positions. Spend extra time on fitting extra sockets in awkward positions without any complaint. After finishing a 10 hour working day, he came back to finish small decorative jobs as promised. Very pleased to have found Steve. We had had a technician round previously to mend our washing machine but in testing the electrical socket before doing any work on the machine, found that the earth loop impedence was much too high and needed to be fixed before further work could be carried out. Steve understood the problem we had straight away when I phoned him, came on time, talked us through the procedure while he was doing it and fixed the problem within the hour. He also answered all our questions and gave us advice on further safety measures and helped with another problem we had while he was here. Very helpful and reasonably priced. We will be contacting him again to do some further work in due course.

I won't repeat the comments of others about Steve's electrical work. My experience matches theirs. I asked Steve whether he would be able to strip out a kitchen before doing his electrical work - he did. I asked whether he knew a decent plumber - he did. He even got some other contacts to remove all the rubbish - despite the fact that their main role is house removals! The jobs I wanted done were carried out far less expensively, and just as well in my opinion, as would have been done by the building firms who initially tendered for the work. Steve is reliable, courteous and well organised. He communicates proactively. He never needs chasing up. He tries to look at things from the client's perspective and is solutions-focused. I would have absolutely no hesitation in using him again - especially for electrical work.

Spoke to Steve who was very helpful and arranged for him to visit the next day (he would have been there the same day but another job over-ran).
