On day 1, 3 October 2023, holes drilled in lower elevations of front, side & part rear. Then extraction hoses were inserted into the holes to extract the old ineffective rockwool insulation. Due the fact that there was damp at lower levels it was decided by the Operatives not to install new Rockwool until a few weeks later when the cavity had dried out. The installation of the new Rockwool was effected on 25 October. On both days the outside areas were cleared of debris. The work was professionally carried out. Despite being based in Portsmouth the job was undertaken. I have no hesitation in recommending Slate Insulations.

Found Slate Insulations online. Lovely staff were communicative and polite in organising the survey and getting the initial information. Workers that carried out the work were professional and cleaned up after themselves. Would recommend - good value for money and good experience.

I used slate insulations to review my loft insulation and cavity wall insulation. They work extremely helpful and quoted a very reasonable price. Their workman were excellent and very friendly. They manage to avoid some of the work quoted for and thus safe cost which I was very impressed with. Would definitely recommend.

The team were really easy to work with and did the job fast and with no issues whatsoever. After ringing around a few other vendors these guys came back quickly and were able to come and do a survey pronto. We were really happy with the work conducted.

The three guys who arrived to do the job were lovely, polite and introduced themselves immediately. They worked very hard in extreme temperatures to complete the job in two days. They did an amazing job including clearing all the old insulation first followed by a double layer of new insulation then boarded the centre of the area. We are really pleased with the completed work.

The guys did a good job, finished our three bed semi's party wall in a morning. I've been really impressed and happy with the added level of sound insulation. No regrets, trustworthy company, very pleased.

I emailed Slate Insulation on 18th. October, following a search of Which Trusted Traders, on 22nd. November they finally replied with a quotation. Not what I consider good customer service, got fed up waiting and received two other quotations promptly and agreed the job with one of them and they will be starting the work in two weeks time.

Communication on the whole was very good. Telecon with Carl inspired complete confidence in the Company’s competence and knowledge in dealing with my requirements for loft and cavity wall insulation. Especially helpful as the job was for a small property I rent out about 80 miles from me and about 40 from SI’s base. I contacted them because they are a Which trusted trader and government approved for CW insulation. The quote was very fair and in line with what I expected. The quote and T&Cs included a commitment to pay 50% before completion. This caused several days anxiety until it was resolved as I had no bank details. It transpired that the invoice was below the necessary threshold. A miscommunication that could have been avoided. The guys arrived around the expected time, were courteous, explained what they were going to do and got on with the job, inside, laying down carpet protector and taking care not to leave marks on the walls. I was shown a photo of the loft insulation so I didn’t have to clamber up the ladder to inspect it. The holes in the outside walls were filled in neatly. They took all the debris away as agreed and cleared up satisfactorily. I would definitely recommend Slate Insulation.

A bit slow responding with a quote but it was a very busy time. Worth the wait as they showed up as promised, were very helpful and friendly, answered any questions and cleaned up when finished. A great job all round.

The initial survey visits from Carl Slate himself seemed very thorough and he gave me lots of info about what would be done and the relative benefits of any options. He gave a definite sense of competence and professionalism. The installation team were also very friendly, polite and efficient. They cleared up after themselves and left the site tidy. The holes that they had drilled for the installation were almost invisible by the time the mortar had dried. Overall, very pleased with the service.
