Smarter Home 4U Limited

This is the second time I have used Smarter Home 4U to work on a property in Sale in Greater Manchester. This time around Tony and his team worked on an area of wall on the lower ground floor of the period property including doing some plastering work and fitting skirting boards. I have always found Tony to be reliable and a good communicator. I have also found him able to advise on what he thinks are the causes of issues in the property, which he can then work to address. I would not hesitate to use him again in the future.

Really pleased with Tony and his gang. Excellent quality of work, all very personable people, always on time, tidied up after themselves, very patient with my questions, exemplary aftercare to ensure I was fully satisfied with their work. Can happily recommend them. The work was a full shower room renovation, taking everything out and putting all back again: * retile three walls and floor * replace small section of floorboard * refit existing loo, basin + vanity unit * install new shower cubicle and refit existing electric shower * replace downlights.

Tony and his team undertook work at our house to convert our garage into 3 separate spaces; a store at the front, an office and a play room. I have nothing but high praise for Tony and his team, they went above and beyond all the way through the job. I contacted Tony about the job and he came to our house to look at what needed to be done and was very open and upfront about how much it would cost and how long it would take. We were very impressed with Tony’s professionalism right from the start, the quote was very competitive and compared to other quotes we received he clearly wasn’t trying to rip us off. We agreed to go ahead with the work and it was all done within 4 weeks which was amazing! We were given an estimate of 6-8 weeks but another job was put on hold so the team then focused all their efforts on completing ours which we appreciated massively. The work was carried out to an extremely high standard, the team were very friendly and always catered for our needs in the house around our three young children. They cleaned and tidied the house each day before leaving which was a nice touch and were very accommodating around us working from home. I used Smarter Homes 4 U as the builders of my single storey rear extension project. From the first meeting to get a quote, Tony was polite, helpful and honest. He gave me a sensible quote and explained the process of hiring his company to me. As someone who has never undertaken any building work before, I was somewhat nervous to start a big project. Tony and David made me feel completely at ease and able to ask any questions I had. Everyone who came to work on my build was polite, respectful of my home and friendly. The build went over schedule due to some extreme bad weather over the summer and then waiting for other contractors to finish. Tony and David were on hand to offer advice and help me make decisions I was unsure of. They also introduced me to other tradespeople such as a kitchen fitter who worked to the same high standards. The building work was done to a very high standard and nothing was left to chance. I am extremely pleased with the quality of the build and the service received from Smarter Homes 4U. I would thoroughly recommend them.

I have never been so impressed with a building firm as with Smarter Home 4U. They were excellent from beginning to end. The job was to improve our lounge by removing a fire place and chimney stack, opening up a wall to fit a French door, and putting in two new windows in the other external brick wall. It was a very messy, dusty business but they covered everywhere with protective sheeting. They were clean and tidy, friendly, and hard working. I was up against a tight deadline and they helped ensure the date was achieved. They kept me informed at every stage, and went the 'extra mile' to do a thoroughly good job. The whole team were great and I enjoyed having them here - although I have never before made so many cups of tea! I have no hesitation in recommending them.

The team at Smarter Homes were fantastic. They completed laying herringbone laminate flooring through out the entire flat, fitting new skirtingboards and fitted a new bathroom suite and accessories. The work was completed to high standard and I love it. I really appreciated the communication throughout and updates about any changes or issues that arose.

I was recently introduced to Smarter Home 4U Limited by a colleague, and it's been one of the best recommendations I have ever received. The quality of the work is outstanding, personnel friendly and accommodating, but what especially stands out is their versatility. Smarter Home 4U Limited have completed jobs both large and small, including electrics, bathroom and plumbing and joinery, achieving solutions with inventiveness where others had previously told us something could not be done. I engaged the above firm to make home improvements to my house so it would work for me. They took down an old lean too and window and made a Patio door opening with a more than standard size door. Took down Kitchen Cabinets and move my washing washing machine and replumbed it in. I had a new Front downstairs window replaced also and then re plastered to an excellent finish. The took down buildings in my garden and sorted the electrics and waste pipes. Cleared all the mess away. On the initial day they started work they came to the house early to introduce themselves which I was told would happen when the owner came to give a quote for the work and discuss what I require. The owner was very knowledgeable and gave some excellent advice and alternatives to what I was thinking, for me to consider. At the end of everyday the house was brushed and mopped so I didn't have to come back to mess. The crew were engaging and happy to assist and answer any questions that I had. I would employ them again in a heartbeat. They were on budget and on time.

Absolutely fantastic work and service from the folks at Smarter Home, from every conversation with the (very patient) Tony, to the quality work from the plasterers, joiners, plumbers, the whole team. We're thrilled with the end result! The kitchen work was organised really well, everyone was competent, any snags were quickly addressed, and we really felt we could trust everyone. Everyone was willing to answer questions and work out solutions to things that came up. At no point did we feel patronised or dismissed. Particular shout-outs to Chris, Kyle, Neil, and David for problem solving and patience. Will absolutely be returning should we need anything else!

I think we were extremely lucky to find Tony and his team. They have done an amazing job installing a downstairs wc and refitting the house bathroom. They turned up punctually every day, undertook the work with great skill, good will, efficiency and courtesy. We are delighted with the end result and cannot recommend the professionalism and quality of the work highly enough.

S4U remodelled my kitchen. This involved moving doors and windows, taking down the ceiling, and eventually fitting a new kitchen. They did a great job and people have been "wow'd" by the result. Tony, Neil, Dan and Chris and the rest of the team turned up when promised and paid attention to detail to ensure the job was done to a high spec. They dealt with the challenges of working in an old Victorian house, and having to coordinate with other companies (kitchen suppliers, etc) who were far less reliable than them and which affected their schedule. They were also patient with a client who did not always know what he wanted and occasionally changed his mind.

We have engaged smarter Home 4U on several occasions over the last two years. In 2021 The team built my business a new office building where six of us now work from on a daily basis. The team a polite, friendly trustworthy and very totally professional. The work was done to high standard, it involved, removing an old shed, clearing the ground building a wooden framework, walls and floor, building a roof, insulating the building, fitting velox roof windows, double doors, fitting double glazing and finishing off the outside with larch cladding on the outside. The inside was clad, decorated and completed to a high standard. My team love our Office and visitors are always impressed. We all agree that Smarter Homes 4U did a fantastic job on that piece of work. Since then, I have engaged the team on two more occasions The first occasion was to solve a leak in my bathroom which involved removing rotten flooring, rebuilding and re-plastering the ceiling below and fitting a full new bathroom suite. The job was done quickly, efficiently and very cleanly. Today the team returned to our house to install a new ensuite bathroom. They arrived on time, everything was cleared away and the standard of work was excellent. I would recommend Smarter Home 4U 100%. Thank you

I can certainly recommend ‘Smarter Home 4U’. Both Tony and Chris his joiner were polite and friendly throughout. They were clear about what they were offering and sent a written quotation for me to assess. Tony’s invoice was for labour (materials would be added when known) to remove floorboards and if possible carry out a simple repair otherwise discuss options to carry out a bigger repair. This is exactly what happened. At every stage throughout the job Chris kept me informed and before he did the repair he put me through to Tony on the phone, to agree to the next stage formally. I can't speak highly enough of the service and work undertaken by Smarter Homes 4U. After an assessment of work to be done to fix 2 toilets (which 3 other plumbers had been out to and said couldn't be repaired) a plumber was arranged. He arrived on time, was and most importantly completed the work required to leave 2 fully functional toilets. Although both units had to be taken out to complete the work, the plumber's 'wet vaccum' left very little to tidy after his visit. No question seemed too 'stupid' of me to ask. It was a 'small' job for Smarter Homes 4U (½ a day) but has made a huge difference to me. The price quoted was the invoice amount despite there being parts quoted for that the exact price was not known at the time of quoting.

We had started on a refurbishment plan for our front room and just before the decorator was due we found some damp at the side of the front window. Having called a damp company out they diagnosed rubble in the cavity which required a builder to sort it out. We found Tony Turner (Smarter Home 4U) on Which Trusted Trader. Tony fitted the job in before we were due to go on holiday. His operative did a great job in less than two days. Some brickwork had to be removed and replaced and then the interior wall had to be re-plastered. The problem was not only rubble but also an ant’s nest. When the bill came it was less than the estimate. Brilliant prompt service from Smarter Home 4U.

I needed a completely new shower room with wash basin and toilet after the previous wet room had a leak into an apartment below. I spoke to Tony from Smarter Homes 4 U. From the start I had confidence in the process. He came over and not only did he give me an accurate price for the work but also gave me good advice based on his experience of other jobs. Neil, Dan and Carl came to do the work with an agreed start date of 22nd March. The space they had to work in was quite confined. However, this was never seen to be a problem. They explained to me what they would be doing each day and the work was carried out efficiently and with the minimum disruption. As this is an apartment, not only did they work very tidily and at the end of each day they brushed and hoovered the communal areas of the building to ensure there were no neighbour complaints. I was working at home for some of the time and they created a pleasant and professional atmosphere. The work was completed in the timescale agreed. I have been delighted with the work that they have done and the shower room is now completed and I have been using it to great satisfaction. It has been completed to a very high standard. I will use the firm for other work and would highly recommend the job done for me.

Twenty years ago Tony installed a new bathroom for us. Since then he has fitted a new kitchen, new bedroom furniture, put up shelves, fixed wobbly doors, renovated our daughter's house, changed windows into French doors, sorted our numerous leaky pipes, reconfigured our 17th century cottage in the Lakes, converted an old barn into luxury holiday accommodation and sorted out the pointing on our roof. Last month he came back and replaced that original bathroom, changing it from a well-used family one to a gorgeous place for adults to relax in. And every job has been the same - high quality workmanship, a positive "can do" attitude to all the issues that arise, a first-class team of staff and the ability to make dreams come true whilst still working to an agreed budget. My bungalow was taken back to bare brick, an extension built with a new kitchen and bathroom. New drains laid. I moved out for many weeks, all electrics and heating was replaced. Smarter Homes4U has renewed my faith in the building profession, I had a very bad experience in the past, which led to court action. I was very hesitant to have the work completed and lived with it for over 3 years. As it was a case of correcting someone else's mistakes not many companies wanted to take it on, but due to a medical condition, I needed to have it completed before some hospital treatment. I was in a bind and Tony was very understanding and empathetic to my situation. He and his team were just the antidotes I needed, I had my shelving fitted, door frames fixed, some minor electrical work done and replacement cupboard doors done. All this allowed me to put in the finishing touches and my home is now completed. I was able to have my treatment and rest, but more than that I finally feel like my home is my own now. The work was carried out with care and attention to a very high standard, it was a very fair price and this was stuck to, soon surprises. This is the second time we have used Smarter Home 4u for our home improvements. This time they fitted our new kitchen (including all plastering and electrics) and fitted a new downstairs toilet as well as new skirting boards throughout. Tony and his whole team are professional, friendly and helpful. We were kept informed of any delays or changes to arrival times etc. and the whole job was completed to a high standard. This was not an easy kitchen to fit due to the awkward position of our boiler and they came up with an elegant solution which is much better than what the kitchen designer at Howdens came up with! I wholeheartedly recommend Smarter Homes 4 u to anyone. Finding professionals you can trust is difficult but fortunately, we have found a firm who are completely trustworthy, do a thorough professional job tailored to the customer’s requirements and have polite and courteous staff. Tony oversees all the jobs and goes the extra mile to ensure the job gets done properly. We have had a huge garden shed taken down and a new one put up, an old canopy taken down and a new one installed and an alarm installed. We’ve also had doors hung. Each time Tony’s men have done a fantastic job and I don’t expect I’ll be using anyone else. They are understanding of personal circumstances and are compliant with Pandemic rules and guidelines which is very reassuring as my wife is a vulnerable person. They are superb at problem solving which reduces the stress for us customers. When our old shed was removed it revealed two massive holes beneath it and that the shed had been balanced on a small pile of bricks. Tony did not want to put the new shed down in the same way because it would be dangerous and would not be the best job. He then kindly arranged for some concrete to be delivered, did the tamping and got the shed sorted as soon as the concrete was dry. Took a lot of stress out of it for us and got the job done properly which is what we want. In conclusion, Smarter Homes are professional, skilled, courteous and do a full and thorough job.

Smarter Home 4U removed an old fireplace, created a storage area and alcove cupboard and shelving in our lounge. Tony listened to what we wanted and delivered a really high quality job. They undertook quite a large project with a kitchen dinner knock through, creating a new downstairs WC, merging a separate toilet and bathroom upstairs, fitting new kitchen and bathroom. Excellent from start to finish. Contacted Tony on a recommendation and he responded quickly to look at the job, was helpful and professional throughout and I had a quote emailed soon after. I was recommended to Tony through my Neighbourhood app and I couldn't be happier. He was friendly on the phone, quoted me via email the next day, and had someone available to start the works (flooring a bedroom) within a few days. Initially Tony came round and measured up for my new shower cubicle and advised on the appropriate type for my shower. Chris came to fit it at the time agreed and was really professional, pleasant and did a great job. He cleaned up after the job and smashed up the old shower cubicle as agreed. Our bathroom door required replacing prior to us putting our house up for sale and due to the non-standard size we were experiencing difficulties sourcing a replacement. Smart Home 4U Limited were fantastic from start to finish, firstly providing us with a contact who was able to provide a perfect replacement door, and then fitting us in last minute to fit the handles, latches, etc... and hang the door. Smarter Home 4U turned up on time and completed the job to a high standard. At the end of the job all rubbish was removed.

Tony and his team have completed the first part of a series of planned improvements to our 1912 house. Initially, we knew what we wanted to do but as we were unsure who to contact to get the ball rolling Which Trusted Traders provided us with an invaluable resource from which to move forward. From our first contact with Smarter Home 4U, in July, Tony has been clear and reassuring on how to tackle the improvements we wanted to make, with accurate estimates of the costs involved. Tony, Chris, Neil and Dan have just completed the bathroom refurbishment for us, removing all the old plaster and re-plastering walls and ceiling, replacing the bathroom suite, installing a new toilet, shower and towel rail and re-tiling. We are delighted with the result! We have had a new bathroom suite fitted and the walls plastered and tiled by Smarter Home 4U. Tony and Chris couldnt have been better, clearly explaining expected timeline for the work and providing a high quality work. Thanks Tony for the first stage of the transformation of the front of my house. Neil arrived on time and set to work straight away removing old brickwork and replacing with new to enable a new front entrance. He tidied up at the end of the day and removed all rubbish. We decided to get our kitchen spruced you - the layout of the cupboards etc was fine but it was all looking a little tired and dated. Tony and his team managed the everything - old cupboards taken down, electrics redone, plaster work done and then the good stuff - bespoke shelving, new table, new tiling - all done on time and within the agreed budget. He was also more than happy to do a few “whilst you’re here...” jobs that had been stacking up, little things around the house that had been niggling us for ages! His team are great - respectful of our home, very tidy and trustworthy. I can’t recommend him enough - quality work, genuine interest in what you’re trying to achieve - and a nice person too!

Smarter Home 4U turned our dream and the architect's plans into reality. The work was carried out to meet our highest expectations and we now have a family living space with a downstairs toilet and shower combined with a superb working kitchen and sitting area. Tony, Chris and Jack were easy to have around amidst all the four months of disruption and they kept us fully informed about timescales during the build. When I contacted "Smarter Home 4 U" I wasn't sure they would be interested in taking the job. It was more about "finishing off" work I had started but was unable to complete because I was going into hospital. Laying laminate floors, painting walls and ceilings, putting on skirting, hanging doors etc. They were happy to do any work I asked them to do. I was quoted for 4 days work and they had it all done in 4 days (I thought it would be impossible) at the price quoted. Very Impressed and have no hesitation recommending them. Always prompt, tidy, and very short lunch break. Very, very pleased.

Gave a quote and estimate of work then negotiated a mutually convenient time to arrive. Arrived on time. Fixed our gutters and added an extra downpipe. Tidied up after work. Helped us source new runners and then repaired a set of wooden drawers that at least 4 others had said were unfixable, saving us hundreds of pounds. Excellent work. Reliable, skilled, good communication - would definitely recommend.

In truth Smarter Homes for U have done two jobs on my house which says a lot in its self . In my job I have a fair few contacts and Smarter homes came highly recommended. I've bought a two up two down mid terrace and an ex rental into the bargain. As you can imagine there are previous jobs that have be missed and jobs that are just shoddy. Case in point were my UPVC windows on the front fascia, poorly fitted and guttering to the rear was the original cast iron .i Invited Smarter Homes in the form of Tony Turner the owner to create a plan to remedy the ills of my house over a period funds permitting. Tony came up with a plan and costing that was sensible and cost efficient. In two separate visits I have new UPVC windows and new guttering and soffits. I have found a skilled, reliable trades person whose prices don't break the bank. The kind of person you keep on speed dial.

I needed some minor jobs doing in order to put my house in the market - making good around a recently-installed Velux window and repairs to two ceilings. Tony got back to me quickly after my initial enquiry and, once he'd surveyed the house, provided a quote promptly. He recommended people for the jobs that he wasn't able to do and made a couple of suggestions that would save me money. The work was completed in half a day and I was pleased with the quality of what had been done. The price was also reasonable.

Tony and his team undertook this large piece of work for us to extremely high standards in all aspects. At our very first meeting Tony gave us advice about the layout of the furniture to be fitted and the types of finish we could have and expect. His quality advice continued throughout the project. He dealt with unexpected developments including the need to replace rotten floor joists and kept in constant contact throughout. We took on board virtually all of his suggestions and they have proved to be of benefit in that the end result is better than we could have expected. My wife and I would definitely recommend Tony and his company and indeed have done so already to family and friends.

I got several quotes for constructing a small 'pantry' room over a stairwell. Tony discussed what I wanted, made the arrangements clear and submitted a reasonable quote. He communicated well about coming in and turned up when arranged. The work was discussed with me as it went along, done to a high standard, communication continued to be good. The resulting room is exactly what I wanted. I will be very happy to use Tony again when I have more work to do, and hope he will be available.

The team at Smarter Home 4U spent two and a half weeks finishing off our major house renovations in March 2019. They were very professional and hard working, and completed all the work to a very high standard. They absolutely saved us after our original builder had badly let us down. Tony and his crew were excellent. From turning up bang on time for the estimate AND the work itself, through to keeping me posted, they were professional and efficient. The work itself was done quickly and well, and when heavy rain put imperfections in the concrete, Tony screeded the floor quickly and effectively. Tony and his team worked with me on this right from the start - meeting with the architects even before we submitted our planning application. Then the real work began, and it was so much more than the usual building work. He liaised with utility companies to get electricity, gas and water connected to the property, heritage dry stone wallers to ensure that the external appearance was in keeping with centuries of history, local roofers who helped create a new property that was in keeping with everywhere else - and all the time making sure that the Building Inspector was very happy! Inside he turned a derelict building into a luxury holiday retreat - a mezzanine bedroom floor was created, original beams were re-purposed, an old stone fireplace was acid-washed to create an amazing feature. This was all in addition to "the usual stuff" - managing the plastering, electrics, plumbing, tiling, creating a fabulous kitchen, making a feature window where old wooden barn doors had been, installing a shower room, fitting a staircase and a hundred other things that brought my dream together. Throughout it all, Tony achieved that perfect balance of keeping me informed of any issues and at the same time dealing with problems himself. I honestly couldn't have done this conversion without him and his amazing team who often worked very long hours to ensure that everything kept to plan. It's a sign of a good builder when even the neighbours were sorry to see them leave!

Tony and Chris, arrived on time and worked in an extremely professional manner at all times when on site. They built the summerhouse with basic instruction from the supplier and improved its construction in a number of areas ensuring that the end product was totally functional and fit for purpose. It was certainly not a job I would like to have undertaken on my own and they made the work look simple. They worked to a high standard throughout the day. I certainly hope to use Tony and Chris again in the future as finding good reliable professional tradesmen can be difficult.

Tony and Chris have been working with us for a couple of months to transform an outbuilding in the garden. Their vision is great and the suggestions gave to improve upon our ideas was really valued. I can highly recommend the service they provide and would without doubt use them again - well done!

Tony and Chris enlarged a window for us yesterday. From original assessment through to completed job they were excellent. The work is of a high standard and although only a small job they consulted us about options so we got what we wanted. They have done work for us before and we would definitely use them again.

I called Tony with a query about Kitchen refurb, and I was delighted when he not only showed up, but on time too. While he was assessing the work, he managed to fix a toilet cistern that needed to be re-set (when other people had told me I needed a new toilet), so I commissioned him on the spot. If you are thinking about hiring Tony for work, do it now ! He and Chris are honest, reliable, they do great quality work, are friendly, keep you in the loop and they charge a fair price. They did the work promptly, which was much appreciated. The kitchen looks amazing now, and they even managed to repair the back gate at the same time. Really top guys who do A* rated work. I’m already thinking about other work they can help me with.

We have used Tony and Chris three times in our house. They have stripped three rooms completely back to the brick where necessary, removed a fire surround and built in wardrobes and taken the carpets up. They quoted a price which was great value for money. They arrived early and were polite. They kept the mess to a minimum and swept and vacuumed when they had finished. They stacked all the rubbish neatly in the garden and bagged up the loose bits. We have had to have the radiators removed for the rooms to be plastered and they have promptly returned to put them back. There have been various other tradesmen that we have needed and they have recommended these to us. These have been good recommendations. We have found Tony and Chris to be reliable, trustworthy, professional and they do a really good job. I have recommended them to friends who have also used them and been very happy with the work done. We will be using them again in the future.

Two ensuites, a bathroom and a downstairs cloak modernised, rebuilt and transformed into the most beautiful rooms imaginable. Tony was prompt with his quote, reliable during the work and couldn't have been pleasanter. The work was carried out and finished to a very high standard and within the stated time. We couldn't be happier and have already recommended this company to friends.

I found that this trader arrived when he said he would, was very clean and tidy sweeping up at the end of the day. He was prompt with his quotation and with an acceptable time between my accepting his quotation and completing the job.

Tony undertook several jobs on rental property for us meaning we didn't have to get several different trades in. Tony always turned up on time and both myself and the tenants are happy with the quality of the work and the price.

Tony and Mark did an excellent job complying with our wishes. They were punctual, hard working, honest and tidy, consulting me immediately an adjustment might be needed to our plan. Tony erected garden rails for a disabled person in my household. Very pleased with the result and I appreciate the effort he took to track down these particular railings. They were installed without fuss and look good. Tony also offered to help and advise on other aspects of house repair that i might need any time in the future and even if the type of work was not within his scope, he would provide advice and contact details for getting the right people in.
