Mark from Solar Gateway took time to understand our requirements and explained everything clearly. No pressure whatsoever. He provided a very clear quote and once we accepted, he set an installation date. On the day, everything went smoothly and the install was very neatly done, with minimal disruption. I cannot fault Mark and the team and would highly recommend them. The after service with any questions has been spot on and nothing seems too much trouble for them.

We contacted Solar Gateway after a friend’s recommendation. We’d tried two other companies, but they gave up when they saw our roof – it’s a quirky old mill with extensions and a very irregular layout. Mark from Solar Gateway visited and suggested installing solar panels in our paddock, around 150m from the house. The quote was very reasonable, and we opted to add an extra battery, something we’re very glad of now. They installed the system and ran a cable to the house. It worked brilliantly. Then, they called back to say they thought they could improve our output even more. They returned, added a second cable, and doubled the performance, at no extra hassle to us. Any questions I’ve had since, I’ve texted and always had a quick, helpful reply. Later, Northern Powergrid put us on generator power for six weeks. I hadn’t realised the batteries needed switching off, and they got damaged. Mark negotiated free replacements with the supplier and installed them for us, again, going above and beyond. The service from Solar Gateway has been absolutely outstanding. I’ve already recommended them to family and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone else.

We had quotes from 3 local companies but from the very first contact Mark from SG was the most knowledgeable and professional. He provided a competitive and comprehensive quote, no jargon, just facts and he was happy to answer our (numerous) questions. We felt confident that SG was the company for us. They were installed in just a few hours, the installation team were on time, friendly and courteous and left no mess. Mark from Solar Gateway carried out a site survey prior to the installation of solar panels and batteries at our property. He was completely professional and very helpful. He identified a potential problem with the unusual roof structure on our house and suggested a solution. The installation a few weeks later was quick and efficient and by lunchtime, everything was up and running. We are so happy with the system. Not only are the outputs really good, but the ability to monitor what is going on via the App is really informative. One year after the installation we had a problem with our domestic WiFi and Mark gave speedy advice by email and followed up with a site visit. I have no reservations in giving Solar Gateway my highest recommendation to anyone considering the installation of solar panels and batteries etc.

We have had previous bad experiences with Solar Panel providers, not giving us the correct advice. Mark was recommended to us by a friend and the difference was amazing. He quickly analysed our needs and came up with a solution. The electrician was brilliant too, as our panel array is in the field adjacent to our farmhouse the route to our distribution board was torturous, but he found a route with minimal disruption and he tidied up afterwards. We have very poor internet connectivity, but again Mark came up with a solution to enable us to monitor our usage. Dealing with our electricity supplier to set up a feed-in tariff was a nightmare, but again Mark assisted us in getting it set up. Thoroughly recommend Solar Gateway.

We used Solar Gateway Limited having read previous reviews on the Which website. We asked two other companies for quotes, but Mark was the only one who wanted to visit our property before giving a quote; this was important to us. We found Mark to be very professional and down to earth, and his advice was clear and easy to understand. Solar Gateway Limited installed 16 solar panels, an inverter and two 3.2kW batteries. We live in a bungalow with good access to the roof, but even so, we were impressed that the team of three were able to complete the installation in about 4 hours, very professionally with no problems whatsoever and nothing to clear up. We are more than happy with the performance of the panels and have seen a 75% reduction in our electricity costs over a period that includes the 'dark' months of December and January. Solar Gateway was recommended by a friend. A survey and discussion of the Solar power system and siting the roof panels , inverter and batteries was done initially and a second visit was made at our request as we had issues with the likely route of the wiring (we have an extension so the loft is not uniform across the length of the house). We were then provided with the calculations of anticipated output of solar energy based on our roof’s orientation to the sun , and based on our previous electricity consumption, how long it would take to recoup our investment in the system. This was all before we committed to the work or paid a deposit. On the day the electrician and roofer worked efficiently to complete the main fit on the day. It was a difficult fit due to the pitch of our roof and the type of tiles. Also the panels were fitted to our detached garage and house roofs making it a more complex fit. All issues were dealt with effectively. The system was up and running by the end of the day. Everything was done to the originally agreed price which was very competitive. The work has been done to a very high standard. We were advised on how to make the most of generated power and battery use. The Project Manager, Mark rang the next day, as he had been monitoring the system’s function, to ensure we were happy with everything. We highly recommend this company.

Solar Gateway carried out a 14 panel solar installation with inverter and battery. They were the only supplier to actually visit my property before they quoted for the install. The quote was very competitive. The work was carried out very professionally and the whole install was carried out in less than 5 hours. Their after service in making sure that we have all of the documentation to enable us to export energy to the grid was provided. From start to finish Solar gateway have been a dream to work with. From the initial consultation their engineer looked around, asked some questions and gave recommendations on what would work well for my home (Other companies I got quotes from just looked at the satellite view of my home from google maps). There was no hard sell whatsoever. Received my quote two days later, very reasonably priced. Accepted the quote and was kept in the loop every step of the way. Solar gateway arrived exactly when they said they would, managed the install in a single day (plus scaffolding being put up the day before and being taken down a couple of days later). All rubbish was taken away and swept clean. A few weeks later I had a problem and thought "here we go, nobody ever wants to know once they have your money". I sent them some photos of the problem and gave them a call. They said they would order the part in and get it replaced in a few days. 3 working days later I was told they would be here first thing in the morning, and the issue was fixed the next day. Best response I have ever gotten from a tradesman I wasn't related to! Everything I could have hoped for in terms of after sales. Would definitely recommend.

My installation was done within 4 hrs of the men starting. Everyone abided by health and safety regulations and the team went about their business in a professional and competent manner. There was no damage caused by the installation and the men left the house tidy and cleared away all debris. First class service.

I have had 8 panels fitted on the roof and 8 on the garage, together with batteries and iboost connected to the immersion heater. The work was all neat, tidy and completed on time. The installation of Solar PV and battery backup is not something entered into lightly. It was important to select a reliable, trustworthy local Company able to provide an Insurance backed service and being a Which recommended Trusted trader provided further reassurance. Solar Gateway installed a 15 panel 5.77kw PV system with battery storage which has worked incredibly well. From the outset, Mark was professional in his approach, turned up when promised and delivered within agreed timescales and at the agreed cost. We had intended to purchase additional battery storage, Mark however advised us to monitor usage/capacity over the first year rather than spend additional monies unnecessarily which we thought was very honest of him. My follow up questions have been answered expeditiously and with a personalised approach. We have now made a number of referrals to this Company and had no hesitation in doing so.
