We design and install bespoke solar panel systems for our customers.
We pride ourselves on a very high standard of installation workmanship.

We bring electricity bills down and protect customers from rising electricity costs! We are totally customer focussed. We provide detailed calculations showing Solar Generation and the amount of Money the system would save.

Mark at Solar Gateway was very helpful in helping me get to a PV and battery design that was right for my house. This was done over the phone across a number of weeks and involved Mark answering a number of both installation and technical questions. Mark was very clear in what information he needed from me in order for him to plan and prepare correctly for the install and on the day Mark and his team arrived on time and completed the install over 2 days - scaffolding was required hence the additional day. His team were professional and polite and the Inverter and Battery were installed in my garage exactly where I wanted them to be. The installers were also very clean and tidy too! It’s now over a month since the install the system is working perfectly. Mark linked me up with his hardware supplier so I could get some support regarding building a software interface to the inverter. All in all I am very happy with not only the pre-sales work with Mark but also the installation too. I would be happy to recommend Solar Gateway to other potential customers.

It started to go wrong the day after the install when the system was exporting the energy rather than using the battery - I chased for several day and was told they couldn't see why it was doing this so would have to send an engineer the next week. He didn't show up and there was no communication. So they tried again after another week. When he was an hour late I phoned and left a message to make sure he was coming and hadn't had an accident. After another 30 minutes I left a another message and an email. 2 hours late he showed up and I asked for some compensation for the system not working and being messed about but all they would offer was £100, and I accepted only if they fixed the system and had showed me proof it was working perfectly, otherwise I wanted it out and a full refund. It took an hour of changing and re-seating components, and re-routing cables to stop the strange signals the engineer was getting. After a few days I contacted the operations manager at Solar Gateway and asked where the £100 was, but they claimed they only said that because I refused to give the engineer access otherwise, and there was nothing wrong with the system nor had there ever been; he was unable to explain the hour of work... A month later on they are still unable to provide proof the system is working perfectly.. nor have they paid the £100 promised and now I'm considering legal action.

Thank you for your feedback. We would like to confirm that the system was working properly on completion of the installation. This was verified by our suppliers remotely which is standard practice. Although this was explained to the customer at the time, he unfortunately did not accept the information from the app and made frequent calls to our office and suppliers. Although this was explained in full, he did not accept any explanations and made changes to the system settings. We had to send an Engineer to reset the system and at the same time double check everything to be sure the system was fully functional. The Engineer called to say he could not make it on the day and we made numerous attempts to contact the customer without success. On the day the engineer did arrive, the customer would not admit him to the property unless we repaid his final payment or gave him a minimum of £100. We did neither as the system had been tampered with and needed to be corrected. After some time the customer admitted the Engineer to his property and the Engineer reset the system to the correct state. Again it was confirmed by our suppliers that everything was working as it should. We are still receiving calls asking for compensation and if we don’t agree then he will place negative reviews on Which? and take legal action. We are a small company and pride ourselves on customer satisfaction and we have done everything to satisfy this customer.

The team who came to carry out the installation were professional and courteous. We are very pleased with the panels and are very happy to recommend Solar Gateway.

More than happy with the service from Solar Gateway, from start to finish. Getting a quotation (and having it explained) was easy, and the installation was arranged and then carried out quickly and without fuss. No cleaning up to do, which is always a bonus ! The only problem came with the app for viewing energy use (though I think that was more to do with my broadband), but they wouldn't leave until it was resolved. Very happy with the service, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

Good standard of work throughout and a good attitude whilst installing 13 solar panels and a substantial battery pack. Arrived at the appointed time with a roofer (not just a solar panel fitter and much better as a consequence) and an electrician who knew his way around green energy systems (many don't). Have already recommended their services to my mother!

A good friend of my recommended them to me. So I went by his referral. Had solar-panels installed, had a little setback as twice got rescheduled on the day at very short notice. But when they finally installed the Solar-panels, they were quick, professional and efficient.

13 solar panels, appropriate wiring into house wiring and two storage batteries. They dealt with any issues that arose provided wiring diagram. App for my iPhone was downloaded, installed and explained. From first meeting they committed to my being a happy customer, and they achieved that. They have followed up to ensure I am happy that the system is fully functioning. From quote to sign off was a fortnight. They handled all official paperwork except signing onto my electricity suppliers website for FIT tarriff, which requires details customer holds and is private.

I found the company through an Internet search, got in touch, the visited and did A survey. I was happy with the price they quoted. They seemed knowledgeable, friendly and competitively priced. On the day of the Solar panels installation, they were very quick, efficient and organized. Can't fault them.

I had a 4-Kilowatt system installed. Solar Gateway were very professional throughout. They even cleared out my guttering whilst installing the panels. My electricity bill has reduced by 60% and it is still Winter! I really rate this company and their high standards and have recommended them to all of my neighbours.
