Having had a single array of roof mounted Solar Panels roof on our previous house; that proved to be a great investment come the time to sell; our next house located in the Hollies Conservation Area, Sidcup, was a detached neo- Edwardian 1991-build, designed as an 'infill' to blend in with the 1905-build neighbouring ones. With enough pennies saved, there were four serious issues to resolve. Firstly the house, built in a cruciform shape, had 8 steeply pitched, connected roofs meaning that each daytime, more than half were in the shade as the sun crossed the sky. Next was the poor access for cleaning each roof's 'mini' array. So, no roof mounted panels! This left the house walls as the only option. But, Conservation Area requirements meant no 'panels be seen 'face on' from the public highway. The last hurdle was that there were no local or national residential installers willing to use house walls as mounts. Eventually, we discovered Spirit Energy of Reading; MSC accredited; with workmanship guaranteed for 10 years and up to 30 years manufacturer's warranty for the equipment. Although distance-wise our house was on the limit of its operational area, after amicable discussions a detailed specification, design, installation, costs and likely savings made by two wall mount Solar PV arrays for our house was proposed by Spirit Energy, agreed and implemented to schedule in a highly professional manner by all of the trades involved. An excellent company to deal with indeed!!!

This was a rather unusual and challenging installation, for various reasons. As well as having a three-phase supply, only one rather difficult-to-reach location was available for a single solar panel. (The rest of the installation involved three batteries plus supporting hardware.) Spirit Energy were very professional and helpful throughout. They listened very patiently to our requirements and concerns and went out of their way to address them. The work was done to the agreed schedule and budget. The installers did everything they could to ensure that the cabling and system units were as unobtrusive as possible, and everything was finished off neatly. Apart from the cardboard packaging, everything was taken away and the site left tidy. The installers were polite and respectful, and, once commissioning had occurred, the system was well explained. The after-care so far has been very good. I would definitely recommend Spirit Energy to other potential customers.

Spirit Energy certainly know their stuff & in particular the Tesla battery. I had the misfortune of using another company through EDF to install a PW3 !!! If only I'd waited a year because Spirit are national now. They are extremely knowledgeable and super helpful. They previously installed a PW2 & have been very supportive during the ongoing PW3 debacle. If you want it right 1st time, choose Spirit.

I can see why Spirit Energy is a Which? Trusted Trader. They’re great people to deal with and the teams who installed the solar panels and then the batteries did a fantastic job. The system works better than I could have hoped. Much of the time my home is being powered by the sun and my bills have plummeted. They are on hand to provide advice if needed and will service the system next year. A cracking local firm.

Absolutely brilliant service from the team at Spirit Energy. I had a 16-panel solar system and a Tesla Powerwall 3 installed, and the process was faultless from start to finish. Their technical knowledge is a step above the rest. During the site survey, Justin managed to optimize the roof layout to fit 4 extra panels, which has been massively helpful for charging my EV. Dimitrios managed the project perfectly, keeping me in the loop regarding a consumer unit upgrade and even getting the scaffolding and roof works scheduled earlier than expected. When the scaffolding team accidentally broke an outside light they kindly replaced the whole lighting set up, no questions asked. Because they use their own in-house teams instead of subcontractors, the communication and workmanship were top-notch. The system is now fully integrated with my Octopus smart tariff and working beautifully. Highly recommended to anyone in the Reading area looking for a premium, reliable solar installer!

I spent 2-3 months researching and speaking to solar companies. It's a total minefield if you don't know anything about it. I have a west-facing roof for the panels and one company even told me it wasn't worth the instal. How wrong they were! 5 months after Spirit Energy installed my 9 panels and 2 batteries I am making money this summer rather than paying for electricity. (I know it's a heatwave and will not always be like this) but if you get battery storage that covers your daily usage even if your solar generation isn't great you still save loads of money. The company were fantastic. Nathan designed our system - he was knowledgeable and contactable and didn't mind me asking lots of questions including 'why should I believe you'. We had an online survey but more importantly an on-site in person survey. Then installation which went extremely smoothly. They use their own scaffolders which really helps with the neighbours only having the scaffolding up for a few days. The system works perfectly. We went with SigEnergy rather than Tesla and the app and AI function work really well. It was pricey compated to other quotes but considering the other companies that wanted to give us half or even a quarter of the battery power - I now know this would have been a complete false economy for us. Spirit Energy designed the right system for our needs and then installed it flawlessly. Do your own research but I would put my trust in this company based on my experience.

I had 20 AIKO solar panels fitted and a Tesla PW3 installed. I am delighted with the work and it is all running beautifully. The work was completed within the time schedule agreed. The team were very professional and the installation is neat and tidy. Communication was excellent. Natasha was very helpful and always responded to my calls, answering any questions I had and keeping me informed of the 'next steps'. Thank you!

Spirit Energy have been outstanding throughout our Solar and Powerwall 3 installation. From the initial consultation to final commissioning, every stage was handled with professionalism, clarity, and genuine care for getting things right. A particular highlight was the exceptional support from Rosario, our Project Manager. His communication was consistently first‑class — proactive updates, clear explanations, and rapid responses to every query. He made what could have been a complex project feel straightforward and well‑managed from start to finish. His attention to detail and customer focus were genuinely impressive. The installation team were punctual, tidy and clearly highly skilled. The system is performing brilliantly, and the overall experience has exceeded expectations. I would not hesitate to recommend Spirit Energy. A trustworthy, knowledgeable, and thoroughly reliable company.

I wanted to maximise the solar installed capacity on my roof but due to the complex shape, I could only fit about 30% of the number of panels I was after. I reached out to Spirit Energy in 2023 as they have experience installing in-roof solar panels. After a lot of back and forth, including my re-designing the flat roof over the kitchen extension into a pitched roof and re-tiling of the main roof, I finally had the installation completed in Feb-2024. I got 23 panels in total, 17 facing south, 3 facing east and 3 facing north (semi-detached property) + 2x Tesla Powerwall battery storage. At every step Sam from Spirit Energy was very helpful in answering all my questions regarding sizing of the system, battery specs, applying for the DNO etc… I was also having my roof done, and Natasha from project management was also very helpful in coordinating their installation team with the roofing company and at the end I got the panels installed and they look exactly how I imagined when I was researching -stunning. I should also give kudos the electricians who commissioned the battery storage over the course of 2 days. The system is working very well generating over 8,800kwh and has indeed cut my bills by 90%.

Spirit Energy installed solar panels and Sigenergy battery storage for me 3 weeks ago (in the Summer). I found them to be highly professional throughout and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. The sales process was informative and not pushy. First impressions by phone were good. I had researched carefully beforehand, and Archie was willing and able to engage at a technical level. I am very pleased I have panels on both my SW and NE facing roofs; so far they nicely balance each other at diffferent times of the day. Archie's battery specification has proved spot on. Justin visited to do the technical survey and we made some minor changes concerning future-proofing. He decided cable routing and confirmed the battery could go into the separate garage. Peace project managed and was on top of all the background steps, many of which I suspect I was unaware. The scaffolders and Spirit's own panel installation teams were pleasant and took a lot of care. It wasn't always easy, but they left everything tidy and the install looks good with the sola skirt. Brandon did the electrical work well and engaged with my technical questions. He also took trouble to make sure the external appearance of cable runs was neat and tidy. Finally all the paperwork arrived so I can see it is all official with the DNO and MCS. Things to watch out for - make sure Spirit explain the difference between the DNO's import and export limits, especially if you are using exports to justify costs.
