Stace were called to repair the source of a leak that was causing an occasional damp patch in the corner of a bedroom ceiling. An initial attempt failed to solve the problem but Stace called back a few times without quibbling, and at their own expense, to try and correct it. Eventually, it was necessary to have Stace replace a section of roof, which appears to have has solved the problem. The team did an outstanding job. They took the time to mix and match existing and new tiles to minimise the visual impact of the repair work. The team were extremely courteous, easy to have around, and worked in often quite difficult conditions. Stace always made us feel important as a customer and Greg stayed in touch regularly and helped us through the process. Would we use Stace again, without doubt. Would we recommend Stace to anyone else, without hesitation.

I contacted Stace Roofing Ltd after several "roofing companies" failed to fix our leaking roof. From the very first contact, they have been extremely professional in all aspects of the work completed. After assessing the problem a clear quotation and detailed description of the work to be completed was issued within 24 hours. Once the work started it quickly became apparent extra work was needed, I was able to view photos of the problems and agreed to go ahead. The work, initially scheduled for 1-2 days, turned into a 4 day job but Stace Roofing ensured various teams were allocated to ensure there was no significant delay in completing the job. After paying the final invoice and the scaffolding was removed a few days later I noticed an issue with the fascia board, I reported this and within a couple of days, another team arrived to fix this remaining issue. We had two sets of works, a chimney removal and a new flat roof and on both occasions the teams on site were punctual, friendly and knew what they were doing. Stace Roofing carried out work on valleys, ridge tiles and the gable end. Their work was carried out efficiently and to a high standard. The workmen were friendly and approachable and the work was completed in the timescale suggested and according to budget. The cleaning up by the workmen following completion of the work couldn't be faulted.

We had a flat section of roof over the Dining Hall which eventually leaked also two front windows which were flat leaded one of which had the lead partially removed by a thief! I found Stace Via Which & following discussions felt they were competent people to deal with. Unfortunately this project was started & completed during the Virus Lock Down so negotiations were at distance but with a friend helping locally. Stace are a very professional company & good people to deal with & trust.

We moved into a 1960's property with a flat roof in November 2020 and suspected the roof was in poor condition. Andrew Stace did a full investigative survey on the roof which flagged up many problems, including no insulation on the roof and poorly fitted rubber roofing laid over old felt in part - in short, an absolute mess! We opted to have the whole roof stripped back and a new GRP roof fitted with insulation - expensive but in our minds necessary for peace of mind. The whole job was done efficiently and to a very high standard. Stace Roofing are not the cheapest but we had confidence from the start that they would do an excellent job and they have done that with great attention to detail. We had a few problems along the way but these were resolved quickly and without fuss. All the guys were courteous and professional at all times, with nothing being too much trouble. We chose Stace Roofing Ltd to install the GRP flat roof for our single-storey extension because of their reputation as a long-standing Which? Trusted Trader and specialist roofing company. From initial discussions to completion of the installation of the roof they have delivered everything they promise and advertise. They developed and maintained great personal communication at the outset, fostering confidence as we worked through estimating the work and costs, establishing the detailed specifications and contract, and accommodating adjustments to the work agreed ahead of being onsite. We contracted in April for the work needed and planned for the last two weeks of August/first two weeks of September. The work on site started on 10 September. Stace were excellent as we consulted and agreed the start date that worked for us as we were slightly later, by a couple of days, completing our building work. The two-person installation team were excellent to work with; courteous, careful and confident as they constructed the GRP roof over the course of five days. End to end Stace have been customer-focused and wrapped the work up with a phone call from Greg Stace, Contracts Director. The finished roof is everything we needed and expected. Stace Roofing delivered in every respect, our confidence in them well placed and their reputation well deserved.

Couldn’t fault the end-to-end process from the first communication to the final one, the professionalism of all the team involved, and the work carried out. Very friendly bunch too. I had a full re-roof from Stace Roofing and the whole experience has been extremely positive; from the initial quote; through to completing the work the team was informative and friendly and the quality of the work has been excellent. I can't recommend them enough.

We had a problem with roof tiles slipping ( in June 2021) we approached Stace Roofing and someone came out had a look and straight away did an emergency job to secure the tile, we agreed on the work to be carried out by the end of August( weather permitting) We then received an email that they could do the work starting on July 28, the scaffolding was erected on that day, the next day the roofing men arrived, the work was completed on the 2nd of August then a little later the windows were cleaned, job done. From the very first telephone call for advice etc everyone the Stace roofing staff, the scaffold staff, the roof tilers and the cleaners at every stage everyone was professional, polite and very informative about what they were doing at every stage. We would like to thank everyone for their help during this worrying time for us. We would recommend Stace roofing and if we need them in the future we will approach them, thanks a lot.

This was a reasonably compact area of the roof but of a highly complex nature and construction. The work was completed by a highly competent team who were a pleasure to watch. I have no complaints whatsoever, only praise. Can't wait for a good thunderstorm now.

Old house with wavey roofline. Previous builders unable to fit the gutter properly and water damaged wall. Stace solved the problem and the gutter is now a snug fit to the wall. Everybody involved was helpful and polite.

From start to finish Stace Roofing were brilliant. The historic roof on our property is complicated and they have been involved since the pre purchase stage. They have undertaken a wide variety of work including conservation, repairs and rebuilding. They are professional, highly skilled, very organised and pleasant to have on site. I first saw Stace Roofing at work on a neighbours house earlier this year and was impressed with the speed and quality of work. On that basis I approached Stace Roofing for a quote to strip and re-tile a leaking pitched roof over my garden room. The quote and indicated start date were acceptable and so I placed my order. Apart from a delay occasioned by very wet weather conditions, the work proceeded in a timely fashion and completed to expectation. The team kept me informed of progress and possible future repair elsewhere on this 120 years old house. Pleasant people to work with who left the site in a clean and tidy condition. Management kept in touch throughout.

The moment that Andrew and Mark came out to survey our leaking zinc covered flat roof, I knew I was in good hands. Our roof is a tricky configuration, multi layered with no parallel sides, custom built, for our extension. I asked the guys to also inspect our 2 chimneys as both were also leaking. They took plenty of pictures and measurements, in order to find the best solution with the optimum suitability to our needs & then quoted us a GRP Fibreglass flat roof system, which comes with a 25 year warranty. They also quoted the chimney repairs separately, which we agreed to. Within 3 weeks of quoting the scaffolders arrived (who were recommended & coordinated by Stace Roofing) They were very quick to build the 2 chimney platforms and the platform for the flat roof; I think its best for the roofer to determine the scaffolding needs. Once George and Paul set to removing the old zinc and sodden roof boards underneath, they took many pictures. After drying out the insulation blocks below, they then spent the 1st day cutting multiple new boards to fit our odd-shaped roof. Over the next 2 days they layered the fibreglass, bonded it to the zinc facade using and finished it with a grey top coat. They really knew what they were doing, the new roof is expertly and methodically laid, matches the existing roof colour and is now set rock hard. On their last day, the 2 chimneys had 5 new courses added and the flashing replaced. All in all a very professional job handled by friendly experts.

From start to finish Stace Roofing Ltd has been one of the best companies I have ever dealt with and I would recommend them to anyone. Everyone from the scaffolders to the roofers have been professional, polite and friendly. At the end of the contract a company director inspected the work and checked that the whole area had been left clean and tidy. I do not hesitate to recommend Stace Roofing to anyone else. I should add that I was a partner in a commercial building company for over 26 years and know what I'm talking about.

I chose Stace as I wanted a local contractor who could undertake a larger project, comprising some essential roofworks, whilst at the same time renewing the wooden fascias with UPVC and replacing the guttering and downpipes. The roofworks comprised renewal of 2 roof valleys (which had some water ingress), refurbish and dry-fix ridge tiles, and repoint and reflaunch 2 chimneys, with some additional leadwork around one of the chimneys to fix a leak. Stace arranged everything, including the setting up and dismantling of scaffolding, and kept me informed at every step when the works would commence. There was some indifferent weather at the outset, but they kept me informed in advance when they would be attending so I could be prepared accordingly. I was also impressed that they were able to mobilise a larger team on one day to catch the work up and ensure that the roof was left completely intact at the end of each day, which was reassuring as we were in the middle of a bad spell of weather. The teams on site worked really hard and the work was completed in accordance with the estimate and timescale. Furthermore they removed all the rubble and old guttering and cleaned up the site at the end of the works. I'd certainly recommend Stace for any roofing project and would use them again in future without hesitation.

The project was to prepare the flat top side of a concrete water tank ready to take a green roof. Stace selected the waterproofing and insulation system and their team installed both They met their budget and finished on time. At all times their team were friendly and courteous

The quotation for the work was returned to me promptly and was very professional, compared to the 2 other quotes I received. The terms were favourable and cheaper than their competitors, including a guarantee for the completed work. The work was started within the specified time and the workman arrived on time. He was very friendly, courteous, concientious and worked hard, observing the latest Covid 19 rules. After completing the work, he cleared all the area and removed all the waste, leaving it clean and tidy. The finished work was extremely good, to a high standard and much neater than previously. I found the Management really approachable, knowledgable, friendly and supportive and they were in contact with me throughout. I would really recommend this trader.

We were pleased with the roof works carried out by Stace Roofing. The work included re tiling and felting, refitting of ridge tiles and relining gullies with fibre glass. The work done was in accordance with estimate with some extras which were costed and agreed. The work took longer than expected but that was mainly due to weather conditions. The staff were friendly and maintained a very tidy site. There was some water damage to paintwork but redecoration was arranged promptly and done to a high standard. Greg Stace had overall responsibility and was helpful and easy to contact and the service provided was professional and efficient throughout.

We have lived in our current property for 21 years and have experienced a number of roofing problems with both the property and an attached conservatory. Having tried a number of general builders who attempted to resolve those problems we decided to employ a professional roofing contractor, and member of a number of official roofing federations. The major work was the replacement of the conservatory windows and doors and the installation of a solid flat roof that is fully insulated. Additional repairs were carried out to the roof of the property. The start of the project was delayed by the introduction of lockdown and the closure of the window supplier's factory - all factors beyond the control of Stace roofing. However once the factory opened and the windows were produced, the conservatory replacement went ahead to schedule and to plan - despite other problems in the general supply chain due to lockdown. As far as the general roof repairs are concerned, they were undertaken before the conservatory as materials were available and for the first time in over 20 years we now have a fully repaired roof - there have been several heavy thunderstorms and hail showers since repairs were completed. All work was done to schedule and to budget subject to the lockdown issues. Stace immediately identified the fault with the long term general roofing problem and were always courteous, professional and kept in touch throughout the project.

I am a self builder building a family home and contacted Stace Roofing to provide advice and services to cover my flat roof on the orangery. I was very impressed with the website, booklet and speedy service. They are a very professional and knowledgeable company and their support to me in deciding the right solution was key. I decided to place a fibreglass GRP cover on the roof and found the roofers who arrived and applied the varying layers to be extremely professional and very skilled. This is the third time we have used Stace Roofing for three different properties. Andrew and his team are professional, turn up when they say they will, do a fabulous job to an excellent standard and clear up after themselves. We have just had a complete new roof on our home. We left Andrew with the key and went on holiday for two weeks and didn't feel the need to stay at home to supervise because past experience has told us we do not need to worry. I have had an on-going issue with damp from two chimney breasts at a property I rent out. Greg Stace was able to diagnose the issue as issues with the lead work and mortar around the chimney and I was supplied with pictures, with the quote, so I could see for myself. The process for quoting and invoicing was very efficient and I was notified in advance, when the work would start, and who the site Manager would be. All of the work was completed, as quoted, and on-time, and seems to have resolved the issue. Stace Roofing did remedial work on my leaking dormers, taking up the tiles to reveal appallingly bad felting. The level of professionalism was outstanding. The two guys who came to actually do the work were great; kept going with plenty of mugs of tea, they showed me photos of the problem areas, and I felt reassured that they would leave my roof in a helluva lot better condition than the original builders of the house had left it! Everything was done within budget, and when they unfortunately damaged a roof tile, Stace had to go online to find a replacement, as none were available locally, and ended up having to buy 5 tiles and pick them up from Nottingham I believe, and they were kind enough to leave the remaining tiles with me in case I needed them in the future. Stace repaired our porch roof which has been up since the 80s and sprung a leak. They made a lovely job of it , friendly installers and done in a day. They replaced the wood under the fibreglass which had got wet so the new fibreglass should last for many years. They also put the right connection where the new roof is sealed to the house wall, something the original installers did not do. Final invoice exactly as quoted. We would recommend them to anyone needing a new roof.

We have had a new house built which has several flat roofs Before we began Stace Roofing had been approached to quote for this work but our main contractor was determined to carry it out themselves and we have been left with a roof that is totally substandard, no warranty and already inside two years leaking Andrew has been commissioned to survey this work and provide a survey report which he has carried out inside two weeks We shall be using his services to completely replace all of our failing roofing. It is such a pity that we were denied his services originally!

I have used Stace Roofing previously, this was a half day repair which was completed to a very good standard to the extent that you would not know that a repair had been undertaken. The quote was comprehensive and easy to understand. The work was completed within the projected timescale and upon the completion of the work all debris and dust was cleared. A detailed quote was sent via e-mail. At this point we asked for additional work to include a pyramid window in the flat roof. Again a detailed quote was sent with full details. A date was agreed to start and the two lads who arrived introduced themselves. The work was carried quickly and each night the site was left clean and tidy. All the lads that worked on the site were a pleasure to have around! On completion of the work I was contacted to check that the work had been carried to my satisfaction. I consulted Stace Roofing when our 70 year old roof sprung a leak. After a thorough survey we decided a complete re-roof was required, including a shower room flat roof and garage flat roof. At the same time the soffitts, fascias, gutters & downpipes would be replaced. The quotation was clear and detailed and it was obvious that the latest materials and techniques were being recommended. The work was carried out skillfully, without any breaks and the guys were great to have around. We now have the smartest house in the road with fantastic quarantees. A high quality family business which we recommend warmly without hesitation.

Flat chalet style roof replacement Survey was done quickly and an appointment made for commencement of work booked fast. All men who attended the site were very polite and completed the job fast and efficiently. I was very pleased with the result and would definitely recommend this company. I used them for the replacement of my front roof and had no hesitation when the need to replace the back roof of contacting them. The waste was taken away by the company and the site left very clean and tidy.

The repair was to a leaking roof requiring re-tiling and the replacement of some timber. Stave replaced a flat roof on our orangery and garage addressing with some mediocre previous work. Their roofing solutions and specification were in fact the most expensive option we were quoted for but at least one of the other two were too good to be true. We decided to go for long term peace of mind. The work was done to schedule, with very friendly on site staff who kept the site tidy - skip and scaffolding removal was done ahead of promised dates. Follow through and supporting information is extremely good. I fully understand why customers reviews are important in the building sector and I admire their tenacity in trying to position themselves at the trusted end of the spectrum - but I have now completed three at their request of which this is the last!

We had chosen Stace roofing, not on price (were the most expensive quote) but on their professionalism and quality. And it was the right choice. We needed the roof felt replaced, additional rows of tiles etc. Stace did a fantastic job, the materials used have made a significant difference to the overall safety and cost of heating the house. Great business, Stace Roofing have a really good team, good time keeping, reliable, well mannered, a real do what they say they are going to do business. We had a roof large roof refitted 2 years ago by Stace and like most large roofs there was a couple of small teething issues. They were quick to respond when I emailed them regarding the issue after 2 years of no contact and appeared within the same week and fixed the minor issues. From start to finish a great service, highly recommendable.

Ours were major leaks in a commercial property in Grantham and required a new roof. Stace Roofing were very thorough from the first survey site meeting to the completion day. Traditional tile roof with a 90 degree apex roof into the bay; gully was leaking when it rained. Tiles had to be stripped back, new under felting, gully lead lined and the roof rebuilt. The previous roofer made a hash of the previous repair. Stace staff turned up on time, were polite and happily beavered a full day. The work was completed within the expected time frame to a satisfactory standard and finish. So far there has been no re-concurrence of the water leak and the previous eye sore of concrete on the roof from the previous roofer no longer blighting the neighborhood. For these reasons, we would use Stace again and would not hesitate to recommend them for similar style jobs as they have demonstrated professionalism and skill set ability. Paul Anton Ltd Essex

Stace roofing have carried out a number of re roofing contracts for me in my capacity as adaption surveyor with the Papworth Trust on behalf of Local authorities. I have been impressed with the quality of the work, the communications from the company and the professional way that the staff and operatives have carried out the work required. I would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone to undertake roofing works.

Andrew carried out the survey and the fact the roof was inaccessible, as it was a dormer loft conversion, was not a problem. He listened to what we wanted to achieve and made recommendations that we went with. Excellent customer service from Jordan and Hannah in the office. We were updated regularly by either phone or email. All the documentation was dealt with electronically, as was the payment - we could even have paid by Paypal if we wanted to. There was always someone available if we needed to contact them. The scaffolding team arrived when expected and erected 3 storeys of scaffolding plus safety areas to the side. They were very fast and dismantled it even faster when the job was over! The roofing team members were very polite, efficient and so quiet we couldn't tell they were here. It was a fairly large job as the dormer extension runs the width of the house and took just over two days. I would happily use this company again but as all their work comes with a long guarantee I suspect the roof might outlive me:)

We tried multiple times to get quotes for a new fibre glass flat roof. Andrew Stace came and visited us (one of three who actually responded to our request) quickly. He spent a good deal of time explaining the process and inspecting our roof. Once we agreed to go ahead the scaffolders arrived on time and quickly set up a two story platform. Following that the workmen arrived on time, spent two days replacing the roof and left no mess. The scaffolding was removed quickly. 4 days in total, no mess, no fuss. Communication was fast and frequent, I would be happy to recommend Andrew and his team without hesitation.

Having suffered from a botched job on our flat roof from a previous builder, it was a pleasure to deal with Stace Roofing. They came when they said they would come, they did what they said they would do and we are confident that the roof we now have will last for many years. The roofers were polite and considerate, and left everything tidy. We asked them back to sort out another problem on our slate roof, which was also done efficiently. They are knowledgeable and are honest enough to say if something doesn't need doing. They are more expensive than others, but we were happy to pay for the peace of mind.
