Steve came to fix the electrics to my dishwasher and some wall lights. He quickly got on with the job, was pleasant and efficient, and tidied up his work nicely afterwards. He was extremely trustworthy, and I was happy to leave him doing his job while I did the school run. Highly recommended.

Steve provided an excellent service investigating and fixing an electrical fault in my mum's flat. The fuse board kept tripping and I sought Steve's help to understand what was going on. Steve arrived promptly and patiently investigated what it could be, explaining what he was doing at every stage of his problem-solving process. He was incredibly thorough and was able to quickly find the issue (some faulty wiring behind the fridge). He explained a couple of options for fixing it and set out the prices clearly, which were very reasonable. I really appreciated Steve doing the work needed that same day so my elderly mum could be comfortable - he stayed to do the job even though he had a parents' evening to get to! I would highly recommend Steve and his work and will be using him again.

I came across Stephen Monk's page on Which after searching for qualified electricians on google. I have had previous experience of very high prices from other tradesmen (electricians) for very small jobs (excessive labour charges) Stephen completed the work i needed very quickly and efficiently. installing lights in my kitchen and living room and configuring the required wiring. Very efficient and excellent service at very reasonable price would highly recommend to other customers and would definitely book him again for any future work

Stephen came to fix some sockets that had stopped working. It was made more complicated by some previous work that had not been done to regulations and involved cutting into walls to find a junction box. He repaired the damage expertly, and left everything very tidy. He also identified two other issues and resolved these smoothly, explaining everything very clearly as he went along. A truly excellent electrician.

I chose Stephen Monk having found him on this website after a series of very bad experiences with a variety of tradesmen in the past. Including another electrician (not on this site) who failed to solve the current problem despite charging me a great deal and leaving my wiring in a potentially dangerous condition. These previous experiences had resulted in me simply avoiding having work done due to the stress! He answered my initial call immediately and has worked to solve a complex electrical problem with great charm, honesty, integrity, and reliability. He explains everything clearly and listens to what you want and makes suggestions. I have complete trust in his ability and will certainly use his company when I next need electrical work done. Steve has worked for me on several projects and I have always been extremely satisfied. Recently he has done a thorough inspection of my Edwardian 6 bedroom house. His report was thorough and he explained all the necessary work needed and left me with a list of recommendations. I have recommended him to my parents where he fitted security lights and dealt with several smaller jobs. They were delighted and trust him completely. Steve is extremely thorough and knowledgeable. We'd had several people quote for the work, and although Steve wasn't the cheapest, he came across as the most professional and trustworthy electrician we spoke to and it was a no-brainer to go ahead with him. The work took longer than expected but due to the unusual layout of our flat's previous wiring than his methods. Despite that he certainly let us off a significant amount of money for final bill he probably should have been owed as there was no way he could have known the job would take three times as long as when he originally quoted. We are really happy with the finished work and he'll be the first person we contact should we need other jobs around the flat.

Steve was very professional, clearly explaining the various options to address my cooker installation conundrum and their pros and cons. He was punctual, polite, and good value. Will be using his services again soon.
