Mr. Thompson replaced a kitchen. He understood our requirements and gave useful advice and recommendations. The work was done to a high standard using good quality material. Mr. Thompson is approachable, helpful and explains everything well. The work was done to the agreed schedule and budget. I would employ him again.

Steve recently refurbished several sets of timber doors and windows in our property. The windows had been painted shut for many years and he's done a beautiful job of restoring them to full function. Three sets of doors also needed substantial work and all are working beautifully now. I was particularly impressed by Steve's communication when I first contacted him (having read previous reviews here) - he phoned and then came round to provide an estimate for the work not long after I had contacted him, and although his start date for the work was delayed, he did keep in touch regularly to let me know the revised schedule. In undertaking the work, he was extremely pleasant and good-humoured, he always tidied up at the end of each day and his original estimate of the work was very close to the final invoice, despite various unexpected issues arising along the way (such as a rotting door frame and window sill!). In short, I would recommend him very highly and would certainly use him again on future work.

Steve did an excellent job designing and fitting an en-suite in our bedroom cubby hole. He was hard working, very knowledgeable and always professional in his approach. I can thoroughly recommend him.

Steve was extremely approachable and helpful right from the start. He was meticulous in his work spending time constructing a solid frame for the bath panel. He was clean and tidy throughout his work and he kept to budget. Overall very pleased and would use him again.

Right from the start we had a great experience with Steve. He was generous with his time discussing solutions and breaking down what to expect. The bulk of the work was a bathroom refit - involving gutting the room (replacing the floor and walls), moving the pipe work and fitting the bathroom suite. Other jobs included fixing creeky hallway floors and routing cables through walls. All the work including many additions was completed not only on time but beautifully and to an extremely high standard. What sets Steve apart is his high standard of work and attention to detail combined with honest and considerate customer service. Steves experience on building sites, building from foundations and in all the trades ensured there were no gaps in how the project was planned and executed which you dont get knowing only one trade in isolation. If a wall wasnt perfectly straight, steve would modifying studwork. If a floor wasn't completely level, steve would plane the joists. Steve even fixed what he could of shoddy work left behind from previous jobs such as securing noisey, rattling pipes while the floor was open. As a character steve is a very comfortable, trustworthy and considerate person to have around. As well as a good communicator - not just giving progress updates but also thorough explanations, helping me learn and understand aspects of the job. I can't recommend Steve highly enough and hope to involve him on our other renovation projects in the future.

We waited a long time to get Steve's services. All his reviews were great and we were sure he would do a good job. It turned out to be a complicated bit of work and he had to use all his skills to sort out problems as they arose. He was very good at making suggestions to improve things as he went. Steve would say he is not the fastest worker because he does all the trades himself and he is always looking for perfection, but if you are patient he will do a very good job. Most days he worked very long hours into the evening to get bits of work finished. Keep plying him with cups of tea and he will be happy. We are very thrilled with our new en-suite.

Steve did a great job fixing a leak in our shower. It was a pleasure to use his services and we would highly recommend him.
