Strong Plumbing & Heating

We have used a couple of plumbers in Berkhamsted and asked for quotes to replace our old boiler. None came back after a while so my wife found Lee in trusted traders. He made an appointment to come round, was on time and understood what needed doing, he also added a couple of suggestions that made complete sense to me. He explained things very well. We had a quote 2 days later which laid out all the work to be done and was a reasonable price. A date was agreed and Lee turned up along with all the parts - he didn't have to go out to get any parts as its often the case. He and his assistant carried out the work in a very organised manner and explanations were given as to what they were doing. They were both tidy, worked efficiently, didn't spend time on mobile phones all the time like some plumbers I know and completed the job within the day. Lee checked that everything was working and handed over to us. My wife and I were very impressed by the professionalism shown by Lee and his colleague and would highly recommend Strong plumbing and heating.

Lee fitted a new Worcester boiler for us. We were very impressed with his professionalism and the time he took to explain everything to us, nothing was too much trouble. He works in a very tidy way and was respectful of our home. Lovely to deal with someone who takes so much pride in their work.

Lee fitted a new boiler etc earlier this year. His workmanship was of such a high standard that I asked him if he could recommend someone that could do a complete revamp of my en-suite. I was so pleased when he said he could do it for me. He guided me on what was required and gave me a verbal quote saying it may vary a bit depending on what was involved once work started. Lee did all of the plumbing, installing a walk in shower etc. He has access to all of the tradesmen that were needed, tiler, plasterer, electrician. flooring etc. They all were brilliant and such nice guys. The finish was really high end far better than anticipated. I would not use anybody else in the future.

I have recently bought a 1950's house that did not have gas-connected and old-style storage heaters. When Lee came round he talked me through the whole process and made great recommendations on boiler and radiators sourcing all of these. He had to take up the carpets and flooring to install all the new pipework to connect radiators and install boiler. He removed old hot water tanks and disposed of them. He completed the work when I was on holiday and sent pictures to me each day to show me the progress of the job, which was very reassuring. I expected to come back to a mess but Lee had cleaned up really well and left everything very tidy. I would highly recommend him, very friendly, turned up on time, great communication and great price.

Lee upgraded a radiators to produce more heat and fitted TRV's to radiators with standard valves. Replaced the main circulation pump that had become noisy. Replaced both loft header tanks and repositioned them to maximise access and available loft space. Fitted service valves. Lee and his assistant performed an efficient professional and extremely neat job over two days. Also diagnosed a subsequent zone valve problem without fuss. Would use again.

Where to start, we had lee in to do some work on our central heating system and couldn’t have been more impressed. It was so refreshing to have someone working in our home that we felt totally comfortable with and could trust. Not only did Lee get our long standing issues sorted out we decided to have some new radiators fitted and new bathroom suit. Lee was honest and fair throughout and nothing was too much trouble. Not the cheapest of the quotes we had but you truly get what you pay for and the extra was worth it. All round great service couldn’t recommend enough.

Excellent work. Very clean and tidy and explanation given for things that were being carried out to get the system cleaned and working properly. Nothing appears to be too much to do. Very good value and efficiently carried out.

Lee had done work on our heating system previously, and when our boiler pump started to make a lot of noise, we rang to see if he could come to have a look at it. Because of the lockdown, we imagined that we'd have to wait for some time, but Lee managed to fit in an inspection visit within a few days, explained what was wrong, ordered a new pump and came round to fit it as soon as it arrived from the warehouse. He is extremely pleasant, explains everything clearly and works efficiently. We have absolutely no hesitation in recommending his work in connection with our boiler and central heating system, and will certainly continue to call on him when we have any plumbing or heating problems.

I called Lee out as an emergency; in the middle of the coronavirus lockdown by the way. He came within 24 hours reconnected my gas supply and carried out a boiler service. He also provided me with a new Carbon Monoxide detector (the root of my original problem) and advised me as to what do do in case of an emergency in the future. Extremely pleasant and helpful chap, highly recommended.

We instructed Strong's to replace and relocate the boiler in our property; flush the entire heating system; and install new valves and a smart thermostat. Lee was very punctual and provided a detailed and well informed proposal which was competitively priced. The work was undertaken professionally and despite our family working from home at the time, Lee and his team completed the works competently and without delay. Almost a week on, the new heating system is working perfectly and we look forward a warm Christmas. Overall, we were very impressed with Strong's and would have no hesitation whatsoever to recommend their services or use them again.

On time, quick, efficient, clean and tidy. Lee made sure that noise and disruption was kept to a minimum, as kids were online learning in lockdown. Would definitely use again.

We needed a gas engineer at short notice the week before Christmas to help fit our stove. This required two visits, one to stop gas and then we needed to complete the work top installation before he could come back again. This took slightly longer than we thought but Lee was amazing, super flexible and professional. Lee did what he promised which is a rare thing as I’d already been ghosted by other engineers. He was also reasonably priced and it was great to feel you were in safe hands with something so important to us. No Lee = no Christmas turkey!

Lee and team completed a fully refit of all plumbing in our renovated/extended home, this spring/summer 24. This included new boiler system, hot water tank, underfloor heating system and all manner of bathroom installations. Lee was a pleasure to work with, very approachable and always keen to discuss issues/plans before pushing ahead, which we greatly appreciated. Lee's attention to detail was great; he works in a very neat manner a was always thoughtful in regards to the aesthetics of what he was fitting; whether that be bath knobs or radiators placements etc.. He made sure the job not only worked to the best of it's ability, but that it always looked great, too. The aftercare has been fabulous. Since we've moved back in; Lee has come to check heating balance and that everything's working well, since it's got colder. After so many months on site, we'll miss Lee. We also know we'll have a plumber for life.

I had problems with my boiler and thought I would need a brand new boiler , however Lee came and checked it and saved me a ton of money by fault finding and telling me exactly what needed to be done. Iam soon looking at new bathroom and heating system and would definitely be calling Lee to carry out the works. Highly recommended- very professional and trust worthy.

Mr Lee Strong We considered three quotations from companies with good repute. And after due diligence Mr Strong had the most reliable character and knowledge on the face of things. He explained in his initial survey clearly and concisely with sound and reasonable logic in Lehman's terms ,which myself and a family member found highly sensible, logical and in a very easy to understand manner. The quotation was more than sufficiently itemised and reasonable and easy to understand in breakdown. His Energy, concentration and professionalism was excellence itself. Further he had a highly congenial , polite manner. His problem solving skills were swift, excellent and logical. His time keeping was excellent and he kept me highly well informed of his progress and diary . The work ran exactly to time as stated . I have been on building sites occasionally before in an informal capacity and the steady state ratio , efficiency and work ethic was exceptionally professional and efficient. In sum I found Mr Strong honest, trustworthy and reliable. The system installed was excellent and the materials used of the highest quality and matched the quote on site . Further he had every tool beyond imagination ! He tidied and hoovered every day. The system was tested thoroughly . Excellent tour of inspection at the end. Our central heating had been suffering issues for several years, starting with the living room radiators not warming at all, making the room unusable during winter. Several plumbers were unable to diagnose the root cause & fix the problem. This year, the issue got much worse with none of the radiators warming up if the hot water was on & no hot water if the heating was on! Lee did a power flush of the heating system was able to methodically diagnose where the blockages were, including in the boiler. He demonstrated the issues & explained the work needed to resolve the problem (including installing a new boiler). Lee fixed the heating & water system, including sourcing & installing a new boiler within 2 days. We now have piping hot radiators throughout the house (including the 2 in the living room) and water. Lee is extremely professional, a knowledgeable & skilled plumber/heating engineer, turning up on time, on the scheduled day. I have no hesitation in highly recommending him.
