We had a Vaillant heat pump installed, replacing our gas combi boiler. For this we also needed a new hot water tank and, as we have solar panels, a device for diverting excess solar to heat water. The initial assessment was clear and Jacob made every effort to explain what he would install and why. He is absolutely invested in what he installs. The actual installation was very smooth, apart from an issue with connectivity of the heat pump controller, which was beyond his control and he has a solution for now. Both Jacob and the electrician were punctual and we were kept informed about progress and any issues the whole time. Superior heat pumps came highly recommended and did not disappoint.

Jacob oversaw a complete refurbishment of our house heating system. He first carefully assessed the heating needs of our long narrow barn conversion. It doesn’t have cavity walls but does have insulation under the plasterboard. The old boiler was taken out, the downstairs tiled floors were all taken up. Floor insulation was put in and underfloor heating pipes installed. A local flooring company then put in Karndean and Antiko tiling throughout the ground floor. Water tanks were installed in a corner of one of our rooms and took up surprisingly little space which we curtained off. Jacob put an air source heat pump onto the outside of the house on the side facing the road. It makes remarkably little sound and mostly we can’t hear it at all. All the old radiators were removed from the home (I sold them all on Facebook) and upstairs Jacob installed much larger ones. They don’t seem to take up much more space than the old ones. The wooden double glazed windows were 34 years old and beginning to rot so on Jacob’s advice we had them all replaced by new high spec plastic ones. Our opening roof lights are double glazed but also old and very difficult to replace so I’m installing secondary glazing over them. So our house has now changed from being cold and difficult to heat (and expensive) to being warm and comfortable. The total energy bills (all electric) are much less too. We’re very pleased with everything. We couldn’t occupy the ground floor for seven weeks but worth it.

I employed Jacob for installing a Vaillant EcoTEC Pure 425. Connected to this install have been regular yearly gas safety checks and boiler servicing. Increasingly Jacob is impossible to contact and never returns calls. This has left me in a really poor situation with a boiler requiring a service and an expired safety certificate. I tried to contact Jacob over a period of time via phone, email, SMS and What'sApp and have been completely ignored. During the same period that I have tried to contact him he has been updating his Twitter feed so this feels completely unprofessional and I feel utterly let down by this tradesman. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

last year I was looking for someone to install underfloor heating downstairs, so I came to this website. We were having a new kitchen and going open plan. I had been toying with the idea of having an ASHP (Air source heat pump) as our boiler needs to be replaced. Jacob did a full energy assessment, installed the ASHP and did underfloor heating upstairs and down, as well as installing other renewables. We had problems with the level of the floor, Jacob managed to help steer us through these issues. We are very happy with the service we received, which we felt was over and above. We would recommend him for the quality of his work, knowledge and service provided. In fact, he is about to do some more work at our house, related to renewables. Aftercare is ongoing as the ASHP will need servicing and tweaked according to the weather if any issues have arisen Jacob has been prompt to respond. I would have no worries in recommending him to friends and family.

We asked Jacob for advice re. our 21 year old failing gas boiler and what options were available. For specific reasons we decide to replace with a new gas boiler. Jacob gave a clear quotation, arrived on the date agreed and completed the work in the two days specified in his quotation. He also very kindly installed a replacement radiator! Extremely neat and tidy, as well as patient in explaining everything necessary.

Jacob has recently carried out a full installation of a heating system in our property and we could not be happier with the service received. The job was completed to a high standard, on time and we got exactly what we expected to. We've been using Superior plumbing for a few years now and Jacob has completed a number of different jobs for us including a boiler installation, leaking water pipe and boiler services and all jobs were completed in a very satisfactory manner. Jacob is very competent, trustworthy and reliable and is our first port of call for any plumbing problems. Highly recommended.

Jacob services our boiler on an annual basis but our first meeting came via a recommendation from the previous owners of our house and a worryingly noisy and leaky boiler! Jacob came out to us asap, resolving the immediate issue. He noted another part could also need replacing, but rather than adding this to our current bill as our service was due 2 months later and would afford better access to this area, he checked-in with us pre-service, ordered the part and installed this on his next visit, therefore saving us money. He is not only reliable, punctual and honest as the day is long, he is always helpful, ready with advice and exceptionally responsive. A true professional, he's a rare find.

I contacted Jacob after reading the reviews on this site when our heating and hot water stopped working. He got back to me very quickly and arranged to come and fix the broken pump just a day or so later, which was ideal. He recommended a pump that was actually less expensive but had a longer guarantee than a like for like replacement. We were really happy with his work. He was friendly and polite, neat and tidy, efficient and knowledgeable. Most importantly our heating and hot water is now back up and running! We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Jacob and we will be contacting him again for future plumbing work.

Jacob recommended and installed a high efficiency boiler 3 years ago which has certainly achieved what he predicted in economy and reliability. His workmanship is excellent and his explanation of how things operate is second to none. He has serviced the boiler every year since but still has time for his client explaining what he is going to do. Jacob recently carried out a survey on the gas and central heating system in a property we are purchasing and produced a detailed report that highlighted deficiencies that will need addressing to improve the system but also assured us that there was nothing dangerous or needed immediate work. Overall Jacob is a very efficient worker, he has a wide range of experience and expertise in his profession and finally his costs are good value.

I called Jacob out to a broken tap at a rental property, and as always his response was immediate. He always contacts the tenants straight away to arrange a visit and to put them at ease. We have used Jacob on a regular basis for a few years now, for annual boiler maintenance, gas safety checks, general plumbing and emergencies and to fit new boilers and bathrooms. He has never let us down and always does an excellent job. I would highly recommend his services.

Jacob has been servicing our boiler for several years but it had reached retirement age. He was able to recommend a newer more efficient variety and he fitted it perfectly in the time scale we agreed. He is neat and tidy in himself and his work and able to explain things very easily.
