The design and discussion of my PV system with Peter, the installation by Daniel and Scott through to the commissioning by Will has happened without any problem, damage or issue. A long discussion of my requirements and a detailed Q&A session led to agreeing an 18 panel system spread over two roofs with external batteries and inverter. The price was agreed, the date set and the system was installed over three days, as planned. Their attention to detail placed the panels centrally on the roofs so they look as good as they can and the electrical cabling and various boxes installed with a minimum of fuss. We are pleased with our PV system, believe it was value for money and feel it was a much easier process than we expected. I have no hesitation in recommending Sustain and should add an addendum to this review in a year's time to reflect on whether the performance reaches our expectations. Sustain Heating did an amazing job fitting the Air source heat pumps, replacing the old radiators with new efficient ones, removing the old gas boiler. It wasn’t an easy job in my stone-built 400 year old house on 4 floors, and they dealt with the unexpected problems with ease. They were great communicators and it was a really positive experience having them do this very complex installation

I was particularly concerned about installing an ASHP as there are many horror stories and much misinformation flying around. I met Sustain Heating at the Malvern Show and was encouraged by their approach and knowledge. We had quite a few visits from Sustain prior to the installation to ensure everything was in order. I was particularly impressed with the manner in which they ensured we were aware of all the safeguards and processes they have in place to ensure that the system is reliable and efficient. The installation proved a challenge but at no time did I feel that the guys didn't have a grip on it. They kept me informed throughout the process. What I found encouraging was that all their fitters, none of whom were sub-contact, were fully trained and were able to answer all my queries. The system is up and running and, although early days, I am happy with the outcome. I have been particularly impressed with the manner in which my subsequent queries have been dealt with. I have no hesitation in recommending this company.

We have waited a year before writing this review. We had solar panels and battery fitted and have been delighted with the performance of the system. Saved hundreds of pounds in the first year. Dealing with Sustain was a painless experience. The initial meeting with Peter was informative and all of my wife's extensive(!) questions were dealt with. The scaffolding was put up without fuss. We did have to push for it to be taken down (3 weeks after installation). A minor hassle. The guys who installed the panels were heroes! Torrential rain, but they stuck at it. Done in a day. The inverter was installed and set up two days later, along with the boost for the water tank. Neat and tidy. Up and running in less than a week! Very pleased with any responses we have had to queries about the system, made us feel that we were being looked after. All in all I would not hesitate to recommend Sustain as an efficient and highly professional company

Sustain were contracted to replace our solid fuel system with a heat pump. We already had underfloor pipework, so this was basically disconnecting the solid fuel system and replacing it with a heat pump system. It included replacing an existing thermal store with a heat-pump cylinder and replacing the old underfloor manifold ( which was faulty) and then running pipework to connect up the new system. All was accomplished in 10 working days as had been predicted (it was quite a big job) and finished in an exemplary manner. On more than one occasion there were 3 vans on the drive with the Sustain guys working around each other. Of particular value was the fact that Sustain were happy to fit around our timing plans, which were complicated by an unexpected occurrence. I'd have no hesitation in recommending them, but since I found them through Which Trusted Traders, this doesn't surprise me.

When I reached out to Sustain in the summer of 23, I wanted solar on one side of the house. This proved difficult based on the roof layout so I cancelled the order. They convinced me using both sides would still give me the results I wanted. We went ahead with the 5.6kw system with panels dotted all over the roof and garage roof. I had a SMETS2 meter installed by Octopus Energy in January 24 and since then I haven't received an energy bill, instead they pay me (from Feb onwards). With the help of Sustain I have future proofed the house with very low or non existent electricity bills. The lads who installed the system were respectful of the property and did an excellent job. I couldn't be happier with my Enphase solar system.

Sustain did a total heating system conversion for us, replacing 2 gas boilers with a Grant ASHP and MyEnergi Libbi solar PV battery storage, including 2 EV charging points. Everything from initial consultation to to the installation and commissioning has been 5 star. The crews were incredibly professional and the work completed to a very high standard. Sustain were great at keeping us informed and even managed to complete the project ahead of schedule. I would highly recommend Sustain for all your renewable heating and energy needs.

Excellent company. Heat pumps, solar PV and solar thermal all installed professionally and competently. Very pleased that the heat loss survey was done prior to heat pump installation to ensure that the system will meet our heating needs.

I have no hesitation in recommending Sustain. They know what they are doing, helpful, quick to respond and professional. It's a big deal having a totally new system installed in to your home and they take you though it step by step, always ok with answering lots of questions. We recently decided to remove our 20 year old oil fired heating and hot water system and install an Air Sourced Heat pump. Researching which company to use is time consuming and at times confusing. We approached a total of 5 companies for a quote. All except Sustain gave us a figure down to the nearest pound, with either no visit to the house or a cursory sales pitch on site. Sustain stand out as the only company to insist on a comprehensive third party heat loss survey being carried out before designing a bespoke system, schedule of works and quotation. It was this systematic and logical approach, together with the approachability and professionalism of everyone involved that convinced us to go with Sustain. The resulting installation has been completed to an extremely high standard by a most friendly team who clearly know exactly what they are doing. There have been a few “snagging” issues but all have been satisfactorily resolved with the minimum of fuss. The heat pump warms the house beautifully and we have a plentiful supply of hot water. Sustain is an extremely well run company with a family feel. Not too big so that you are just a number but with just the right economy of scale. The company owner even visited himself to explain the schedules of works and was always on hand to help the system settle down. I cannot recommend Sustain highly enough and would strongly urge anyone thinking of installing a heat pump to use them.

I had Solar panels and a battery installed by Sustain. They were very good in sales information, giving me all the information that I needed to know and what differentiated them from their competition. I chose them over a rival and was not disappointed. The work was carried out over the two days as promised (although the scaffolding was left for over a week, apparently they contract out fitters). Been very happy since installation. Great customer's service, especially when I wanted to understand what was going on and how to calibrate it to my own needs.

Sustained Heating and Renewables installed my solar panels, batteries and inverter in July 2023. The detailed planning and discussion of options were thorough and informative, and I am confident we found the best possible solution for my situation. From then on Sustain handled the planning application and all the necessary prior to installation. The installation itself, was quick and very professional. Others have since commented on the thorough work done. Since the installation my electricity has cost virtually nothing, as the panels have delivered enough electricity for my needs and allowed me to export sufficient electricity to cover the standing charge in all but the darkest months (November to February). I can thoroughly recommend the company. Their quote was competitive (if not the absolutely cheapest), but what won me over was the long guarantees for the installation and the attention to detail during the planning process.

So very pleased we used Sustain Heating and Renewables for our solar upgrade. We had a false start with another company who turned out to be terrible, so started off nervous, but everyone we dealt with at Sustain were welcoming and reassuring. They took time to go through all our concerns and everything we wanted and translated it into a bespoke system. The team did a thorough and excellent job, including removing and disposing of the old system, meticulously patching and repairing the roof and installing new panels and batteries and all the electrical gubbins to make it work. The whole team were extremely professional and delightful to have around and they all clearly knew exactly what they were doing so were able to explain every step. All of them clearly took great pride in their work – a refreshing change from contractors simply following instructions. And Daniel was always at the end of the phone to answer any additional questions, and still is as we get used to the new system. We now have a top-class system that generates electricity even on a dull day, heats our water, charges our electric car and lets us control it all from an app on our phones. We would urge people to beware of inadequate companies hiding behind glossy brochures who turn out to be incompetent. Sustain Heating and Renewables are a fabulous small family business who have done an excellent job for us and we highly recommend them.

We chose Sustain for our heat pump because (a) we were delighted by their installation of solar panels for us and (b) they were the only local firm prepared to fit a Viessmann R290 pump, top-quality German engineering. The team fitting our system had just been trained by Viessmann. Although Sustain would have provided us with heaters, we chose to rent locally. We popped in almost daily and were most impressed by the care taken by the team, and at conclusion, the house was left spotless. After 8 days of no heat, it took 2-3 days to bring the house to a lovely temperature everywhere. Sustain's calculations of which radiators needed enhancing have proved spot-on. Hot water is plentiful and shower pressure excellent. We live in a dormer bungalow with low eaves, and we could have been better forewarned that this would mean a vast array of exposed pipes from the quite elegant tank enclosure. The pipes have now been beautifully covered by a local curtain firm, but are still accessible for service. The large and amazingly quiet pump is outside and we have planted trees on either side to encourage birds and butterflies. The system is controllable world-wide by an uncomplicated smart-phone App, and by thermostatic radiator valves. it's too early to comment on running costs, but as heat pumps are much more efficient than gas boilers, we expect significant annual savings, while doing our bit to save the planet for our grandchildren and yours. We highly recommend Sustain.

Sustain installed a 16 panel PV and battery storage system last month, and it is perfect. From the initial sales visit through to the quote to installation (in 4 weeks, the largest delay was waiting for grid approval) the whole process was smooth and efficient. Particular shout out to installers Callum & Scott and electrician Lucasz who were professional, friendly and helpful, consulting us an all aspects of the layout etc. We have no hesitation in recommending this company.

I recently had an upgrade of my heating system to an Air Source Heatpump. After much research I went with Sustain Heating and I am very glad I did. From the very outset I could tell that I was in safe hands and everything was explained clearly. The teams (plumbers,electricians) who came to do the work were a great bunch and left everything clean and tidy. The system has been in for just over 2 weeks now and I could't be more happy. A minor glitch at the outset was sorted out quickly and I know that if I should experience any problems or concerns that I can call Sustain at any time. Sustain have installed a co-ordinated system for our house, incorporating an Air Source Heat Pump, existing solar panels, 2 x 5v batteries, a car charger and all the necessary controls. Sustain's fitting and aftercare for our PV system and batteries have been outstanding. The personal care and monitoring of the system has been exceptional and response to any questions or issues has been prompt. Also, you generate electricity and save money.

We are really pleased with the work that has been carried and the pump is doing a great job although it's not winter yet, obviously, but we've tested it and the heat is good as is the water heat and flow. The work was a little later getting started that we were expecting but once the guys were here they did a fantastic job and worked incredibly hard turning up first thing in the morning and often working through lunch. I've had bad experiences with contract workers - builders etc. in the past - bunking off to other jobs but not in this case. It was a difficult job as it was for the main house and annexe and so a lot of pipe work and ground work. A huge channel had to be dug and a lot of mess dragged out and I thought it would be left behind but no, everything was taken away and it is as good as new. All of the packaging too was taken away and you'd never know anyone had been here working. There were a couple of small hiccups but all sorted. I've had to make contact with the company a couple of times to ask questions and these have been answered quickly. I can't fault the guys doing the job.

We chose Sustain to install an air source heat pump for central heating and hot water after going through a list of firms provided by Vaillant (we had a Vaillant gas boiler at the time) and having site visits by three firms. We chose Sustain as the best without having read reviews, but these confirmed our decision. The installation was done over six months after we signed the contract and paid a deposit, but this was mainly because we did not want it done in the depths of winter. The work was carried our efficiently, and with consideration for the elderly homeowners (my wife and myself) Given that the firm was replacing an existing gas central heating system in a 400-year-old house the job was done even more satisfactorily than we expected, and our worries beforehand proved unnecessary. It took a little longer than anticipated, but snags had to be overcome, and two weekends and two bank holidays intervened. Our only criticism is that some new pipework holes were not made good - a minor point. The men were helpful and kept us informed throughout. So far we have been very pleased with Sustain. The real test of the system will come next winter!

We have had Sustain out to fit our air source heat pump initially (in Dec 2021) and then to install Solar PV with battery storage (in May 2023). On both installations they have proven to be experts at what they do and treat the customer with utmost care. With the heat pump, the installation guys retrofitted into an existing gas system which involved replacing some pipework and adding some larger radiators following recommendations from a heat calculation survey prior to the installation. This, along with the heat pump Sustain advised for us, meant that we now have an efficient and eco-friendly (with the 100% renewable energy electricity tariff we are on) means of heating our home. Sustain were brilliant throughout the whole process, with spot on products chosen for the job and constant communication from the installers throughout the process. We then looked to install solar PV and batteries to further improve our home's green credentials. We didn't hesitate to chose Sustain again for this and we weren't disappointed. The installers were knowledgable of their trades and were friendly and spent time going through what was being done to ensure we were kept in the loop. Aftercare has been fantastic too. Minor teething issues with our heatpump soon after it was installed were dealt with immediately by Sustain sending out a technician the same day when it was apparent we needed an expert to look into it further. Highly recommend this company!

After getting quotes from 7 of their competitors, I decided to go with Sustain, and am very glad I did! All stages of the process was flawless, from initial planning, installation and support on how to optimise the use of my solar system. Highly recommended

I chose Sustain to install solar panels and air source heating. They were prompt to respond to my enquiry and within 6 weeks my order was submitted. This compared to 2 other companies I made enquiries with who took nearly 6 months to respond and 2 months to reply to any emails! Sustain have been superb from the beginning. Arranging timely appointments to view, assess, discuss options etc. Once signed up they completed and submitted all relevant paperwork from beginning to end. The installations were separate. The solar panels were first, fitted in one day in January and the final electric connections, including 2 batteries, completed 10 days later. No disruption. A run through of the app and how to monitor my solar power completed at the same time. Excellent. The air source was initially planned for late February but that did change to the 2 weeks over Easter. During the intervening time I was kept informed and as mine was a retrofit there were a number of visits to check proposed pipe runs, tank sitings, radiator suitability etc. There was a lot to do but by the Thursday after Easter , with minimum disruption, my heating system was fully commissioned and I had been briefed on how best to run my system to suit me. There were follow up visits after installation to check I was happy with how things worked and everything was okay. I can also call anyone of 4 people to get advice at anytime. I have already recommended Sustain to 3 other people and will continue to do so.

Highly recommended. A smooth installation by a conscientious and friendly team including the scaffolders, panel fitters and electrician. All completed in a timely fashion with minimal disruption and no glitches or hidden costs.

I would definitely recommend Sustain Heating and Renewables. They have recently installed a solar PV system to our property and have been very professional throughout. When there was a problem with the inverter post installation, it was dealt with quickly and the issue has now been resolved with a new inverter fitted under warranty.
