Sustain installed a 16 panel PV and battery storage system last month, and it is perfect. From the initial sales visit through to the quote to installation (in 4 weeks, the largest delay was waiting for grid approval) the whole process was smooth and efficient. Particular shout out to installers Callum & Scott and electrician Lucasz who were professional, friendly and helpful, consulting us an all aspects of the layout etc. We have no hesitation in recommending this company.

I recently had an upgrade of my heating system to an Air Source Heatpump. After much research I went with Sustain Heating and I am very glad I did. From the very outset I could tell that I was in safe hands and everything was explained clearly. The teams (plumbers,electricians) who came to do the work were a great bunch and left everything clean and tidy. The system has been in for just over 2 weeks now and I could't be more happy. A minor glitch at the outset was sorted out quickly and I know that if I should experience any problems or concerns that I can call Sustain at any time. Sustain have installed a co-ordinated system for our house, incorporating an Air Source Heat Pump, existing solar panels, 2 x 5v batteries, a car charger and all the necessary controls. Sustain's fitting and aftercare for our PV system and batteries have been outstanding. The personal care and monitoring of the system has been exceptional and response to any questions or issues has been prompt. Also, you generate electricity and save money.

We are really pleased with the work that has been carried and the pump is doing a great job although it's not winter yet, obviously, but we've tested it and the heat is good as is the water heat and flow. The work was a little later getting started that we were expecting but once the guys were here they did a fantastic job and worked incredibly hard turning up first thing in the morning and often working through lunch. I've had bad experiences with contract workers - builders etc. in the past - bunking off to other jobs but not in this case. It was a difficult job as it was for the main house and annexe and so a lot of pipe work and ground work. A huge channel had to be dug and a lot of mess dragged out and I thought it would be left behind but no, everything was taken away and it is as good as new. All of the packaging too was taken away and you'd never know anyone had been here working. There were a couple of small hiccups but all sorted. I've had to make contact with the company a couple of times to ask questions and these have been answered quickly. I can't fault the guys doing the job.

We chose Sustain to install an air source heat pump for central heating and hot water after going through a list of firms provided by Vaillant (we had a Vaillant gas boiler at the time) and having site visits by three firms. We chose Sustain as the best without having read reviews, but these confirmed our decision. The installation was done over six months after we signed the contract and paid a deposit, but this was mainly because we did not want it done in the depths of winter. The work was carried our efficiently, and with consideration for the elderly homeowners (my wife and myself) Given that the firm was replacing an existing gas central heating system in a 400-year-old house the job was done even more satisfactorily than we expected, and our worries beforehand proved unnecessary. It took a little longer than anticipated, but snags had to be overcome, and two weekends and two bank holidays intervened. Our only criticism is that some new pipework holes were not made good - a minor point. The men were helpful and kept us informed throughout. So far we have been very pleased with Sustain. The real test of the system will come next winter!

We have had Sustain out to fit our air source heat pump initially (in Dec 2021) and then to install Solar PV with battery storage (in May 2023). On both installations they have proven to be experts at what they do and treat the customer with utmost care. With the heat pump, the installation guys retrofitted into an existing gas system which involved replacing some pipework and adding some larger radiators following recommendations from a heat calculation survey prior to the installation. This, along with the heat pump Sustain advised for us, meant that we now have an efficient and eco-friendly (with the 100% renewable energy electricity tariff we are on) means of heating our home. Sustain were brilliant throughout the whole process, with spot on products chosen for the job and constant communication from the installers throughout the process. We then looked to install solar PV and batteries to further improve our home's green credentials. We didn't hesitate to chose Sustain again for this and we weren't disappointed. The installers were knowledgable of their trades and were friendly and spent time going through what was being done to ensure we were kept in the loop. Aftercare has been fantastic too. Minor teething issues with our heatpump soon after it was installed were dealt with immediately by Sustain sending out a technician the same day when it was apparent we needed an expert to look into it further. Highly recommend this company!

After getting quotes from 7 of their competitors, I decided to go with Sustain, and am very glad I did! All stages of the process was flawless, from initial planning, installation and support on how to optimise the use of my solar system. Highly recommended

I chose Sustain to install solar panels and air source heating. They were prompt to respond to my enquiry and within 6 weeks my order was submitted. This compared to 2 other companies I made enquiries with who took nearly 6 months to respond and 2 months to reply to any emails! Sustain have been superb from the beginning. Arranging timely appointments to view, assess, discuss options etc. Once signed up they completed and submitted all relevant paperwork from beginning to end. The installations were separate. The solar panels were first, fitted in one day in January and the final electric connections, including 2 batteries, completed 10 days later. No disruption. A run through of the app and how to monitor my solar power completed at the same time. Excellent. The air source was initially planned for late February but that did change to the 2 weeks over Easter. During the intervening time I was kept informed and as mine was a retrofit there were a number of visits to check proposed pipe runs, tank sitings, radiator suitability etc. There was a lot to do but by the Thursday after Easter , with minimum disruption, my heating system was fully commissioned and I had been briefed on how best to run my system to suit me. There were follow up visits after installation to check I was happy with how things worked and everything was okay. I can also call anyone of 4 people to get advice at anytime. I have already recommended Sustain to 3 other people and will continue to do so.

Highly recommended. A smooth installation by a conscientious and friendly team including the scaffolders, panel fitters and electrician. All completed in a timely fashion with minimal disruption and no glitches or hidden costs.

I would definitely recommend Sustain Heating and Renewables. They have recently installed a solar PV system to our property and have been very professional throughout. When there was a problem with the inverter post installation, it was dealt with quickly and the issue has now been resolved with a new inverter fitted under warranty.

We have just been through our first winter with a Vaillant Arotherm Plus air source heat pump installed by Sustain last June. I am pleased to say that our home has been warm and comfortable throughout the past winter and we have always had plentiful hot water, even when visitors have been staying. I think this is the mark of a well-designed and well-installed system. After-sales service to sort out two very minor snags was excellent and Sustain responded to my call very quickly even though it was the beginning of winter and the company was very busy at the time. I thoroughly recommend Sustain Plumbing and Heating.

I am pleased to write a positive review for Sustain Heating, investing quite a lot of money on a system I was fairly unfamiliar with was a bit nerve wracking. My worries turned out to be completely unfounded, Sustain Heating completed the installation with the following positive points and no negative points. There were no hidden costs, the price quoted was the price paid. The work was carried out on the promised schedule with small amendments closer to the time but with full upfront communication and agreement. Panel changes due to global demand and delivery issues from the original quote were notified upfront and the Longhi panels finally purchased with the order are by no means substandard from the original proposal. The workmen, scaffolders and electricians (Fully MCS qualified) were all very courteous and extremely helpful in explaining the purpose and use of each item of equipment. The support from the Sustain office was pretty much immediately available. Queries from their on-site staff and myself were answered very promptly. All administration paperwork for permissions for National Grid access and MCS certification etc. was all completely handled by Sustain Heating In summary, I would not hesitate to recommend Sustain Heating to anyone considering a solar PV panel installation.

Sustain installed 21 all-black solar panels over my south-west facing roof space along with all required infrastructure - batteries and inverter. I started with 5 quotes and lots of discussions before finally choosing Sustain for my installation. Explanations with regards installation and pricing were crystal clear and once started the installation progressed and concluded as expected. In a project of this nature and the current difficulties in supply chain links it was inevitable that some delays would be encountered. Sustain managed my expectations professionally and reasonably well and in the final analysis the projected completion and commissioning date was achieved. I had very minor issues with communications BUT nothing to warrant any significant comment. All in all, a very easy project to complete largely due to the very good works from all the staff at Sustain particularly the panel installers and the electricians - many thanks - thinking about an ASHP next!

This was a large project, involving solar panels, storage batteries, replacement of all the radiators and installation of an air source heat pump. All phases of the project were carried out very professionally and the various teams carrying out the work were always a pleasure to deal with. Although some phases of the project were quite disruptive, the teams tried to keep disruption to a minimum and worked as quickly/efficiently as possible. All the work has been performed to a high standard. To the extent that there have been any teething troubles, they have been solved promptly and effectively. The company really does want to install a heating system that the customer is happy with and is prepared to go the extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction. Overall, 5 stars!

I can't rave enough about this company. They have done our air source heat pump and we have paid the deposit for solar panels. Every step of the way communication and customer service have been great. Any concerns, issues, etc. They respond right away. Did fantastic work and really just an all around great company. Even moved out install up a few weeks because they knew we didn't have any heat and did the whole thing incredibly quickly.

Sustain installed all black solar panels split between east and west facing elevations plus a three phase FusionSolar home battery system with backup function for power outages or cuts. The installation is really neat. I have had neighbours from my estate that I dont know knock on the door to find out more attracted by the way the panels are installed/look. They also are impressed by the slim profile battery system which is mounted on external wall alongside the meter boxes. The installation was really quick and guys worked really hard. The scaffolding was installed just before installation and taken down a few days later. A very smooth operation. Now we are into september with cloudy skies I am really impressed with how well the system works and I am expecting it to make a big difference to my energy costs and my carbon footprint as I also have an ASHP. I approached other Which trusted traders and they were not as responsive as Sustain and the ones that did respond were not as technically aware as Sustain in their proposals. We are very pleased to get this system in.

As a Which member I looked for a Which Trusted Trader for my projects. I contactted five trusted traders and one other large national company. The large national company came to the house to present a quote to us. We laughed after the salesman left - it was far from value for money (caveat emptor). Two trusted traders responded fully to my request for a costed solution. I selected Sustain on technical considerations and overall ease of dealing with them. The team worked really hard as there were some really hot days at the time and a lot of instalaltion work took place in the loft. A major rework of the plumbing was necessary as the existing was far from standard design plus microbore. Install included a water cylinder in the loft, combi boiler plus gas fire removed and gas supply capped. They dug a trench in the garden for the services for the heat pump and even took away the spoil. They installed a Mitsubishi Ecodan system which works really well. It heats the hot water very quickly and playing around with the controls I managed to get the house far too hot one morning in the the recent colder spells (much to the ire of my wife), so the system definitely heats the house. Sustain are very responsive to any querries plus there is a free homeowner support line provided by Mitsubishi which is excellent - no question too stupid! We are very pleased with the end result and I must admit I was very apprehensive initially. The team were very friendly and helpful throughout.

Sustain Heating installed an Air Source Heat Pump system for us to provide heating and hot water in our house which is an old stone farm building. They provided us with an excellent service in every way. This included: - A detailed estimate and prompt replies to queries. - A pre-installation visit when all the key issues were agreed, such as locations for all elements of the system, routing of pipework, etc. - The installation itself was done by a team who all knew each other well and worked well as a team. They were all polite, worked hard and kept us informed on the work planned each day. - Detailed decisions were discussed when appropriate before the work was done. - Tools were put away and the house was left tidy and clean at the end of each day's work.

We had a major solar PV installation completed by Sustain this April. We chose Sustain because they are Which? Trusted Traders and they were helpful and responsive to enquiries. (Another WTT solar firm rejected the house as unsuitable based only on looking on Google Earth!). As we have East and West facing roofs, we accepted Sustain's suggestion of having twin installations and a large battery. Our main motivation was ethical, but we were fortunate that the price difference between selling a London house and buying in North Somerset, enabled us to make the investment painlessly. The planning and execution of the work was excellent and we were kept in touch all the time with progress. The actual installation took about 2,5 days only. In practice now, in these days of maximum light, we use no paid for electricity at all, and a total of less than 1kw since April. In these days of energy crisis, Briish Gas has reduced, not increased our monthly standing order. So we recommend Sustain very highly. They are not perfect and in our case still need to do more to explain to a couple of OAPs how to get the best out of the system and the App, so they score 90%, but we'd certainly have them again and their staff are polite, skilled and helpful.

Work was accomplished to a high standard whilst I was abroad even with covid restrictions and difficulties. They responded immediately on my return with small teething problems. It is now working better than the old gas system and I am extremely pleased with the result. All the stages were well explained and the grant approval system worked well due to the attention to detail they undertook.

We did lots of homework and spoke to several companies before choosing the supplier to install solar at our home. We chose Sustain due to their knowledge, help and reassurance they provided. They were the company we could trust. And I’m pleased to say that (after a bit of a delay waiting for the products to land in the UK) they delivered. It wasn’t a straightforward install and the weather wasn’t kind, but nothing was ever a problem and they did a brilliant, and very tidy job. I’m pleased to say the panels and battery are performing brilliantly and (now the weather’s improved), we’re reaping the benefits and tapping into renewable energy. Loving it!!

I first contacted Sustain last October and from the first conversation, I had a great feeling of confidence in their knowledge of my requirements and the reliability of their services. I have not been disappointed. The climate crisis, plus the rocketing cost of gas and now the need to cease using Russian energy have all contributed to my decision to convert from gas central heating to an electrically run heat pump system. Sustain has both provided this efficiently and been a constant source of help and information along the way. Heat pumps are quite expensive and at the beginning of my enquiries, they pulled no punches. I had an upfront breakdown of costs and information about the heat loss survey and energy performance check that would be required as well as much help in sourcing Government funding which over the next 4 years will pay for over half of my new system. As soon as I decided to go ahead I was given a rough date for installation as mid-February, but despite the pressures the heating industry is under, this was brought forward to 24th January. In just over two days my heat pump was installed with all the new radiators and was up and running most efficiently. Since then Sustain has also installed a storage battery which is charged on a cheaper nighttime tariff and also makes much more use of power from the solar panels I’ve had for a few years. All in all, I cannot recommend Sustain more highly, for all the help and information I had before I decided on

We had been thinking about having an air source heat pump installed for some time and once we had seen one in action at a friends’ house, we decided to get on with it. Going by reviews of local, specialist companies, Sustain Heating and Renewables really stood out and we weren’t disappointed – excellent service from start to finish, with home visits to explain what would be involved, through to the installation itself. Sustain also arranges all the necessary checks and documents, making the whole process simple and straightforward. Our installers did a great job, explaining what would be happening on a day to day basis; doing their best to inconvenience us as little as possible (we were never without hot water or heating when we needed them); keeping our house in a tidy state while they worked; and listening to our specific requirements, making small changes when requested. We live in a typical early C20 terraced house but our initial doubts about where the heat pump would be sited and how the new system would link to existing pipework were all dealt with in a most professional and reassuring way. We love our new system – responsive, simple to use, providing us with a warm house, masses of hot water and satisfaction of knowing we are using less energy. If you are considering switching to sustainable heating, we strongly recommend that you consider using Sustain. If our experience is anything to go by, you won't be disappointed.
