Installed a new loft ladder into a tricky space. Simon clearly knows his trade well and death with any issues in a sensible and pragmatic way. Left the work area clean and tidy and has a great attention to detail which meant I was confident the work would be completed to a satisfactory standard.

Simon installed our new loft hatch, loft ladder, boarding and insulation. Simon was very conscientious, reliable and tidy. Simon completed the work in the time he anticipated and to a high standard. We were happy to leave Simon in our home whilst we were not there. We would highly recommend Simon.

Contacted Simon by email to enquire if he could replace a loft hatch cover that had been damaged beyond repair. He responded immediately and arranged a visit to inspect the problem. During the visit Simon provided not only a solution to the issue with a new sturdier door but noticed the loft ladder had been incorrectly installed by a previous tradesman and was a potential health hazard. He recommended that the ladder should be re-sited to a safer and more secure position which we agreed on. The work was subsequently completed not only to a high standard but he added additional timber supports for extra safety. Simon is the consummate professional and is also very tidy. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Simon came to us via a referral from a neighbour, as we needed our loft boarded, a loft ladder installed, and this included the fitting of a new loft hatch. Simon came to our house and was on time and extremely punctual. He then proceeded to look at what was required, talking us through the different options that were available to us. We then received a very detailed quote for all three of the options that we discussed, and the quote was broken down and described all of the activities that would take place, depending on what option we chose. Having made our choice and spoken with Simon we put a date in the diary, Simon then texted and emailed the day before to say what time he would arrive, and to the minute, he arrived at the time agreed. He then proceeded to carry out the work but not before he placed blankets throughout and made sure the property was well ventilated. Honestly, I did not know he was here most of the time, the noise was minimal, and he just got on with the job in hand. Always focused on health and safety as well. At the end of each day, he we would tidy up, clean, and hoover, and you would not know he had been here for 8 hours working. So, in summary, Simon comes very highly recommended, and it is so nice to have a professional who prides themselves in their work and carries it out the highest quality and standards. I cannot recommend Simon (the loftman) highly enough!

An outstanding job! We had recently relocated from Lancashire to Wiltshire & had no knowledge of the local tradespeople. However, Simon turned out to be a great choice to board our loft in every respect. From the outset he provided an exceptional service. I needed a fitted loft ladder being nearly 70 and finding it a bit difficult getting up into the roof. I only go up into the loft a few times a year to get bits out, like Christmas stuff, and to put it away again. Using a step ladder was getting a bit dodgy. I looked online and was pleased to find a local Devizes based person (Simon) known as the Loft Man, who answered my email enquiry very quick, and came to look at my situation within a few days. He had a look and suggested a cost effective loft ladder and new loft hatch, at a very good price. Simon is very professional, and dare I say, very fussy tradesman. Very efficient and no mess. Nice to see someone who prides them self on doing such a good job, and making sure you are well versed in the operation of using the retractable ladder, before saying goodbye. Highly recommended.

We live in an old property with plaster lath ceiling and needed a larger loft hatch created with ladder for easy access - advice given by Loft Man was spot on and the work was carried out in a most professional and clean way. No dust or mess and first class workmanship could not recommend highly enough - if you want a professional job then this is your man.

Simon was very professional from start to finish. We had a new loft hatch and ladder put in. Simon arrived on time and was first class - professional/polite and we are delighted with the finished product. He built the hatch form scratch and has done a superb job. We were a little apprehensive about leaving someone here while we went to work but after my first chat with Simon that was put to bed. He made up a bespoke loft hatch, extended the entrance and fitted a good ladder. It's easy to use and fits perfectly. He left the house and patio (Where he made up the hatch) very tidy and I would happy to recommend him to anyone who is looking for this type of job. He was also very comfortable being left with our dog on his own while we were at work.

Simon was efficient in all things... The work he completed was a little complicated but he worked cleanly and with minimal disruption... I was surprised and pleased when he gave me training in how to use the loft installation, and he remained until he had made sure I knew enough not to injure myself at any time... It can be difficult these days to find someone you can trust to come into your home and carry out work. The "Which Trusted Trader" service is a great scheme which I will certainly use again. This is where we found Simon who did a first class job of boarding, insulating and fitting a loft ladder in our loft. I can't speak highly enough of Simon's professionalism,efficiency and courtesy. Simon installed new insulation, boarding and a loft ladder and hatch (Nine Elms). Excellent workmanship. Left him to it for first two days and one would not have known he had been in the house as not a speck of dust or rubbish anywhere. Job took a bit longer than usual due to unexpected mini heatwave and who would want to work in a roof with no air at those temperatures. Overall extremely happy with finished job and overall price - would thoroughly recommend him Paul B
