About

The business was founded over 32 years ago by Derek Little. A film cameraman and mountaineer in a previous life, Derek became a roofer as a way of making a living in his local area of London. In 1985, he set himself up as a one man outfit, and was a familiar sight on roofs around Stoke Newington.

After two decades of roofing experience, in 2006 Derek incorporated his business as The Roofing Crew Ltd. The company continues to provide top-quality roofing services across London.

It is a business that has been built on word of mouth. In fact, around 40% of the work we do still comes from recommendations, a testament to our commitment to craftsmanship, hard work and honest pricing.

I've had 2 successful jobs completed and very helpful advice on another matter. First was fixing a roof leak which had been repaired very poorly by another builder. Derek explained my options very clearly, showed comprehensive before/after photos and did an excellent job fixing flashing / tiling of roof, chimney stack and party wall. Second was investigating a leak from a flat roof which needed replacing, again the work was completed to a very high standard, and the team very efficient. Finally I needed urgent help evaluating some crazy building plans by my neighbours which impacted my party wall. Derek certainly went the extra mile and was very helpful!

I received a comprehensive quote detailing the work involved in replacing a flat roof, listing materials to be used and with photos of existing rood. The team arrived on time, worked hard in all weathers and left the site tidy each day. I received further photos during the work and on completion. Any problems during the process were quickly resolved. I am very happy with the work that was carried out and would definitely recommend them to others.

A complete overhaul of the gutters, boarding and clay tiles on my detached house was preceded by masses of photos showing the problems in detail, then a complete list of materials and labour needed. The work was speedily achieved by Derek's team of good and polite roofers, who cleaned up every evening, regardless of weather conditions. Lots of completion photos followed. Any outstanding queries were quickly and cheerfully resolved. It was a surprisingly pleasing experience.

This company carried out repairs to my slate roof and dealt with some tricky guttering problems. Tony produced detailed quotes, was great to deal with and is hugely knowledgeable. Highly recommended.

Great service, excellent work, minimal fuss! We had a flat roof in need of complete replacement during a rainy period, and it was done within three weeks of ordering. I was supplied with an accurate quote, and kept up to date with many photos as the work proceeded. I would certainly use them again, and heartily recommend their services.
