From first contact Craig was straightforward to deal with, called when he said he would and arrived at my house when he said he would. I'd asked Craig to put some new vinyl flooring down in my bathroom. Craig removed the old floor, fixed loose floor boards and made sure the job was done properly. The work was done within a day as Craig had advised me it would be. Craig ensured the job was done to a high standard, in a friendly manner, and it is obvious he prides himself on a high level of workmanship.

Thorner Flooring Services provided a high quality service from the start to the end. We were able to discuss our requirements and could choose from a variety of samples in the comfort of our home. Service was prompt and included any necessary repairs to floorboards, even some decorating prior to fitting the staircase carpet! The work was done extremely neatly and the house was left beautifully tidy. All the old carpets and waste was removed. The carpets are wonderful, we know it be durable and last for many years (having been previous happy customers of this company many years ago), we would not want to go anywhere else.

Craig has just finished replacing carpets in our 3 bedrooms, stairs and landing and living room and we think he's done a fantastic job. After first contacting him, Craig was quick to get back to me, and came out that day to have a look around the house. He offered lots of advice, and we never felt pressured to commit to anything, although we were happy with the written quote he provided. We are really impressed with the quality of the work, Craig takes the time to do the job to the highest standard rather than trying to cut corners and do things quickly. This included numerous time consuming fixes to our floor boards, especially on our landing which hadn't been left in a great state by previous works and was noticeably uneven and noisy - however, it now feels as good as new. I really can't recommend Thorner Flooring enough and will definitely be using them again in the future.

Second time using Thorner Flooring and again, really happy with the work. Very knowledgeable and thorough; spent time properly securing floorboards and laid underlay and carpet. Excellent standard of work. Craig was great at working around the other work we were having done in the room (we were waiting on a radiator to be fitted) and he worked around that which was incredibly helpful. No issues, would absolutely recommend.

Craig came to my house to measure up and quote, making it clear that he did not use LV flooring, but laminate. I did not mind what kind of flooring we used so was happy to see some samples and get a quote. Within a minute of his arrival he realised that the floor was not suitable for this treatment, but spent another half an hour with me discussing the options and recommending a fellow fitter who is an LV specialist. He even rang this tradesman to explain the position. Free quote so no gain for him in this at all but appreciated his expertise and the time he took on this job. A proper tradesman, who are few and far between these days.

Thorner Flooring completely transformed the upstairs of my house. Craig brought samples of different flooring to the house and gave helpful considered advice about choices. He and his colleague repaired poor condition floorboards and skirting and laid pale grey laminate to four bedrooms and the landing and a grey patterned vinyl to the bathroom and en suite toilet room. It looks lovely. They took a lot of trouble to ensure that the boards and vinyl were laid properly and worked hard to get everything done in the timescale agreed. Craig also gave a lot of his time to give good advice about other flooring work. Really pleased with the work and will definitely use Thorner Flooring in the future.

New carpet to hall, stairs and landing completed in one day - all within two weeks of original quotation! Included removal and shortening of doors, fitting door plates, disposal of old carpet and underlay and even fixing a sticking front entrance door which was not part of the quote - free of charge. We are returning customers for Thorner Flooring Services. When we contacted Craig, he was quick to call round and provide an estimate for the work. He appreciated that some work needed to be completed before the kitchen carpet could be fitted. As it was a small job we were flexible for Craig to fit in with other work. After fitting a new fire and decorating, a new lounge carpet was the final piece of the jigsaw and again we turned to Craig at Thorner Flooring to supply it. Having moved into the property last January I was alarmed to discover after three months water damage hidden under the fitted carpet outside the bathroom. As a DIY ingenue this was going to be a project for the professionals. Enter Thorner Flooring Services. The wooden flooring they have installed is superb. The quality of service is superb. They are superb.

We required removal of all existing carpets from Hall stairs and landing . The hallway was then to have a wooden floor laid, with replacement carpets for stairs and landing. We found Craig’s company via the internet, noting that he was a Which? trusted trader. When asked to attend to inspect the job and give us a price, including selection of timber and carpets, he came to see us within a few days and arrived on time. We were impressed with his obvious knowledge of his subject and the helpful advice when making our choices. An estimate for the work, accompanied by clear and comprehensive terms and conditions were sent us quickly. Of particular note was his advice in relation to some cables laid beneath the existing carpet where he made it clear that in order to do a proper job of the hallway flooring the cables would need to be removed rather than attempt to keep things as they were. Having accepted his quote Craig and his colleague agreed a date for carrying out the job and arrived promptly on the due date. Over the next couple of days the work was done to an excellent standard and to the agreed price. We would thoroughly recommend the company in carrying out flooring work. Had a carpet fitted in a bedroom - everything was superb from start to finish. Craig came out to measure up and see what I wanted; was able to get exactly the carpet I wanted. We were very impressed with Craig and his mate, who were very professional in the way he carried out the work. He removed all the old including gripper and started from scratch. I have had many carpets laid during my lifetime but never had a carpet fitted with so much attention to detail. He even shaved the door bottoms where required. The work took two days to complete and as soon as one room was finished everything was cleared away before starting another. I would certainly recommend this company to all.

We are very please with our end results of uplifting the carpet and supplying us with a new look floor in the Lounge and Kitchen, which we are using them again for our spare bedroom, to be done the same. They were very efficient with their work and friendly. We would recommend them to anyone. We have also had the main bedroom and hallway done previously (in our flat) and it makes it look bigger. They cleaned up after they finished the job, and put the furniture back where it belonged, all on schedule and budget were right.

Absolutely marvellous from start to finish. Craig is very friendly and supplied lots of samples for us to choose from and left them with us so we could check in daylight and at night. The underlay was carefully chosen to let the wooden floor underneath a breath. The room was emptied and refurbished by Craig and his workmate. The rest of the house flooring was protected. The work was carried out efficiently. Just fantastic from start to finish. And reasonably priced!!!

Just had new carpets in our through lounge, snug, hall, stairs & landing. We chose a crofter 50oz heritage 80% wool carpet with the help and expertise from Craig. They replaced all the underlay, gripper rods and planed the doors to fit. Excellent workmanship, can't rate them highly enough.

Craig helped us choose an appropriate carpet. He is an outstanding carpet fitter and solved technical problems (e.g. how best to butt the carpet to a wooden floor area) with great clarity and skill. Following Trusted Trader reviews, Craig visited us with samples of wooden flooring and carpets and was knowledgeable, helpful and patient.The first day which entailed the fitting of a wooden floor was complicated by the presence of a floor to ceiling bookcase which he removed and on returning it, he secured it professionally to the wall against which it had sat for many years. The second day began well, until the old carpets in the lounge were removed, and it became obvious that the skirting boards were not painted at floor level and that a strip of unglossed wood would show after the new carpet was laid. After some discussion, Craig came up with a plan. He and his assistant, Billy, would do everything except lay the carpet, which included securing a number of loose floorboards. I would ensure the skirting was painted that evening (after the two of them had rubbed down the skirting before going home early), and they would return first thing on the third morning to lay said carpet. This happened as planned and only then was payment (at the original quote) requested. It follows that when next any flooring is planned in this house, Craig will be first through the door. I have unreservedly recommended him to friends and family, and I do so now to all Trusted Trader readers.

Fitted Classic Oak natural laminate floor to hall and lounge, as well as vinyl in the kitchen. Work had to be delayed due to a problem that was identified when the old laminated was lifted. Craig was very helpful, giving advice regarding the way forward. Flooring now fitted and it looks amazing. Whole apartment now refurbished (carpets fitted in both bedrooms in October 2018). Craig brings a good selection of carpets, laminates and vinyl samples to allow customers to make an informed choice. He is very knowledgeable and makes suggestions that you wouldn’t have initially thought of. When the work is completed, everywhere is left clean and tidy. All waste is removed from site. Very reasonably priced and work carried out to a very high standard. Once the work was agreed, Craig was happy to fit in with our suggested start date. Over recent months Craig has completed three jobs for us - matching to an existing wood laminate floor (previously fitted by Craig) following a kitchen/dining room refurbishment, fitting a bedroom carpet and a wood laminate floor in a study. In our experience Craig has been meticulus with his advice, planning and completion of the work. The finished job has been to a very high standard and reflects his knowledge, attention to detail and professionalism. Craig has always explained how he intends to carry out the work and if there are any changes to plan he has always checked with us before he made them. Excellent work. I needed to replace the vinyl in my bathroom after having a new toilet and basin. This required replacing the plywood and fitting new vinyl. I am very pleased with results. He covered the stairs so there was no mess and left the bathroom immaculate and took everything away.

Craig has just laid new flooring in our cloakroom/wc and as always has done a super job. He has carpeted most of our house over the past 20 years and I no longer seek quotes from anyone else.

Craig is absolutely fantastic. He took care of the flooring in most of our house after a major renovation and couldn't have been more accommodating! He went out of his way to help us out and was flexible with timings as our build took a lot longer than expected. Craig fitted laminate flooring to our kitchen/diner, utility room and hallway as well as fully carpeting our living room, bedrooms and staircase, all working to a tight timescale. At the initial meeting he gave good advice, resulting in us choosing a different flooring (the LVT we had chosen was not suitable for the space we wanted to use it in). He treated our home with the utmost respect, gives 110%, and provided solutions to issues left by other tradespeople (shame not all tradesmen work to his high standards). We now have beautiful flooring throughout. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Craig has supplied all types of flooring in our home, most recently kitchen flooring. Craig always works with us to find a solution to any tricky issues. He brings samples into the home. He is extremely hard working and entirely trustworthy. We have given him keys for access when we are away or at work. We wouldn’t consider using anyone else.

With the information I got you could tell Craig was very experienced and very knowledgeable. There wasn’t nothing he didn’t know, knew the trade inside out. Couldn’t recommend him enough. Best around.

Craig did a fantastic job replacing our living room carpet with Perspective Wide Reclaimed Chestnut Antique Planks Quick Step laminate flooring - we couldn't be happier with the result, it looks fantastic!! When we were at a loss finding a fitter to lay vinyl in the cloakroom, Craig came to the rescue and we were very grateful. He kindly kept in touch throughout until a fitting day was fixed.
