Overall the service was unsatisfactory and did not meet expectations, given the cost. The positives: the back office were very responsive, accessible and helpful in resolving issues and communicating updates. Unfortunately, the fact that they had to resolve a number of issues is a testament to service received. There were a number of delays which meant a job that was supposed to be 1-2 weeks took six weeks. Work had to be redone and messages repeated a number of times as the team changed over the course of the job. Finally, the work itself was compromised requiring additional guarantees.

Many thanks for taking the time to leave a review. Unfortunately on this occasion, it seems that we did not provide the customer experience that we pride ourselves on. There were regrettably unavoidable delays with this project as a result of team members being struck down with COVID as well as a family bereavement. As a result of this the team members working on your project did change at times. As with many other construction based companies we also suffered from a shortage of materials at the time of installation which added further to the delay. Finally, due to the age of the property, as the installation progressed additional necessary works were uncovered which needed to be carried out. At the end of the project we issued our standard long term guarantees for the works that were carried out.

This is a messy process hacking of the old plaster but the individual who came to do the work made great efforts to reduce and contain the dust The work was done in three days as predicted and he cleaned up well afterwards.

The damp issue we had originally quoted for was far worse than initially anticipated, following a full site investigation. This seemed like the end of the world but Timberwise took the time to evaluate and adapt the scope of work to cover what was required to solve the issue (touch wood). We appreciated their attention to detail, communication and team work. From start to finish I have found all the Timberwise staff to be most helpful and efficient. They were always on time and I was most impressed with the way the technician, Ian Harding, carried out the woodworm treatment. He was pleasant and everywhere was left neat. The first contact is made to the work being completed was beyond my expectations. The office staff were also most helpful and the paperwork, which I received was very helpful. I would certainly recommend Timberwise to anyone needing woodworm treated for the way they deal with customers and their whole customer-focused approach.

Communication with Timberwise was excellent throughout - from arranging a survey through to completing the anti-woodworm spraying. The bat problem was fully understood and great care was taken to provide all information to our bat warden about the chemical formulation to be used. The Timberwise team of 2 arrived in good time, had a briefing from our bat warden and completed the job very efficiently It was a pleasure to deal with Timberwise throughout.

Do not touch with a barge pole
They lost us a mortgage because their report was incorrect, saying there was rising damp, when in fact the roof leaked and damaged the plaster. They do not use the appropriate materials for older breathable properties. They wanted to drill a hole through the floor to check if there was a damp proof course, therefore breaching the damp proof course!!! And a variety of other things I would never recommend them

Following my survey I used Timberwise for some recommended works. From telephoning, during covid through to inspection by Dean and works carried out by Chris, everything ran perfectly smooth. All persons I spoke to went over and above. Dean came out for further inspection, me thinking I had additional concerns. Nothing was too much trouble. Chris carried out the works with the least possible upheaval and cleared/cleaned where possible at the end. Chris even helped me locate a leak from my boiler - thank you. Thank you for a brilliant service would definitely recommend.

Except service from start to finish

From my first phone call to Leslie in the office to Steve’s first visit and then work done by Stewart the service could not have been better. We were kept in the picture throughout with very clear explanations and we felt confident and supported during a potentially stressful experience. Although there was a delay before completion, because of a plaster shortage, the work was completed at the earliest opportunity. I would have no hesitation recommending Timberwise to others, indeed I have already done so.
