They started a job removing dry rot from our downstairs living room in early 2017. They replaced part of a sash window frame, multiple floorboards, and re-plastered a quarter of the room. As well as treating the rot. We had problems with them from start to finish. The rot has now been found again in the skirting boards in the same area where they conducted the work. Here are the problems we had with them: 1. They cost a lot of money compared to other companies 2. They took nearly 2 months to complete a job which should've been done in 1 week 3. Days would go by without anyone coming to the house and the job half finished 4. We were rarely kept updated on the progress of the work and we had to call them to find out what was going on / what the delay was 5. One day we came home in the pouring rain and found the window was boarded up, no one had told us this was going to happen 6. After calling up to complain we had someone sent round to complete some demanding manual jobs and they sent someone with a broken arm! 7. We found rot back within 18 months in the same area 8. They were going to charge us £160 just to come out and have a look 9. Their surveyor came out and spent 2 minutes looking at it, he failed to assess the walls, windows and floor boards 10. He said that they had failed to properly finish the job 11. He spoke to a director who then refused to honour our guarantee (which we had paid a substantial amount for) and refused to finish the job 12. Now we are left with an incomplete job, visible dry rot in the room, a guarantee which is worthless, and have already had to pointlessly redecorate the room once which cost us £500 13. After complaining they said they would come and see the work again with the complaints team in 3 weeks time! 14. They then agreed to come sooner, reviewed the work and once again accepted no responsibility for the incomplete job I am now awaiting an independent surveyor to come and review the work and I’m going to liase with the ombudsman. I would wholeheartedly not recommend this company to anyone

Thank you for taking the time to leaving a review. We are disappointed to hear that you are not satisfied with the works you have had undertaken and the issues you are now experiencing. I understand from our Operations Manager that he has visited the property and has given you the advice of contacting the Property Care Association or an Independent Remedial surveyor that is a member of the Property Care Association for a second opinion to the new outbreak of rot that is on the other side of the room to where we have treated. He has also said that once this report has being received that Timberwise will return and review the findings and decide on how we move forward with a satisfactory resolution. We understand your frustrations but as a reputable company with many decades of providing excellent customer service we will work with you to resolve this matter.

We have experienced Rising damp in our old property causing visible damage to walls. We contacted Timberwise for a free survey and quote which easily led to a surveyor to our property for a free survey which was carried on the affected area but we asked for a survey on the rest of the lower floor and this was also agreed. The surveyor was both friendly and efficient. A comprehensive report followed quickly and advised remedial work. This was similar to quotes form another company. Appointments for this work to be carried out was easily made. Steven Wade was the Timberwise engineer. He wa punctual very friendly and communicative. His work was caused unexpectedly little disruption and noise and very little mess. The end result looks excellent. Six weeks for the plaster to dry and then we can paint thee wall directly which due to the quality of the plastering will be all that is needed. Overall excellent efficient and very friendly service. Telephone assistance was helpful in explaining what I needed d and how things worked. Person who visited to see the work required was obviously very knowledgeable and interested in older buildings which was terrific as ours is Grade 2 listed. The man who delivered the service was polite, very helpful and thoughtful in the way he worked. Excellent service throughout.

Very good service, no extra costs. Technician was excellent, removed plaster form walls, injected damp proofing and re-plastered walls. He cleaned up all mess. I didn't have to do anything.

I had previously used another damp company, who were OK, but the finish on the plastering etc. was not great. Mark from Timberwise did a really great job. He was punctual and polite when coming to the house, and left the work area very clean and tidy. Most importantly the finish of the work was at a really high standard. I would definitely use them again if I needed any damp work done.

Jason, our Timberwise technician, applied woodworm treatment to the roofs of our Grade 2 listed thatched Cottage, giving great respect to the structure of the building and working with considerable care and attention. His work was very thorough and could not be faulted. Our whole experience with Timberwise from original survey to treatment has been excellent.

Moved into our new home last October with what seemed very little to do...June this year almost put my foot through the flooring in a bedroom. Carpet was lifted to find evidence of infestation. Searched the market and contacted Timberwise (UK) Ltd based on their existing customer reviews. A very educational phone all revealed what our bedroom was infested with and a suitable treatment progress was presented. A survey appointment was booked and on time the surveyor knocked on the door. He carefully explained what could be seen, what needed to be done and how long the whole process was to take. The surveyors knowledge was in depth and appeared to have great experience in infestations and the treatment required. Within a week and a half we received a quote which we were happy with, especially the guarantee, which I phoned up to find out the details of the guarantee (thinking it would be very limited) I was pleasantly surprised to hear that a full 20 years guarantee is applied to all treatment and work carried out. After accepting the quote and booking a 'treatment slot' we only had a few weeks to wait until the engineer knocked on our door at the time specified. Very friendly staff (surveyor and engineer) both new their job inside out and made my wife feel comfortable whilst they carried out the work. Great job done. Great service with a friendly nature.
